It had been another sort of long and lazy-seeming day today. Though the weather had been a bit colder lately, it was starting to warm up again and Fiyali had been going from one watering hole to the next, simply wandering about here to there and sometimes back again.
There was no real purpose or direction to her travels, she just hadn't found any one place that she'd like to stay in for a long time yet.
Today, though, had been fairly good so far as hunting went and now ... she was just looking for someplace to rest for the night...

Aszbuike made his way around a small watering hole. The weather was slowly returning to normal and the sun warmed his dark coat. The wild dog had been wandering around for some time now, looking for anything exciting. Life had become quite dull for him lately, even hunting proved to be a bit boring.
He got a quick drink from the cool water and noticed a female out of the corner his eye. It had been a while since Azubuike had seen another wild dog. He had traveled from a place that was mostly inhabited with lions. She seemed friendly, and Azubuike debated going up and talking to her. Perhaps today wouldn't be dull after all.

By that point, Fiyali had spotted the other as well and raised her head just a bit. She was wary of strangers out here ... having had a couple of bad encounters from time to time. But this male didn't seem threatening or anything...
So she let tail wag back and forth just a bit and tilted her head to one side - wordless invitation to come closer, if the other so desired.

Azubuike noticed that the female had looked his way. Her light fur was very different from his mostly black body. He had been thinking about walking over to her, and a tail way from her confirmed that she wouldn't mind. As a reflex, Azubuike wagged his tail and began to walk towards her.
"Hey there," he said smoothly as he walked up to the female. "The name's Azubuike."

Smiling a bit at that, Fiyali nodded at the introduction and then sat down with a little lick to one shoulder. "I'm Fiyali'Kianga... most just end up taking off that last part, though," she replied after a moment or two.
Some of this male's markings really were very different from the others she had seen before ... the one on his chest even almost looked like a strange sort of face.

"I think I'll do that Fiyali," he said with a friendly smile. Azubuike knew he had a long name, but the female's name was even longer. It was much simpler if he only used the first part.
"Everyone just calls me Azubuike. Unless you want to call me Azu or something," he added. The wild dog had never gone by a nickname before, but wouldn't mind it. He sat down a few feet away from Fiyali with a small sigh.

"Azu..." Fiyali repeated, then kind of giggled softly. "I ... sorry, I'm not trying to laugh at your name or anything like that. It's just ... different, I guess?" she tried, offering a smile in apology.

(( It's fine :3 ))
"Don't worry about it," Azubuike replied back, laughing a little as well. For some reason, when others laughed, the male couldn't help himself. He tends to laugh when others do, even if it is directed towards him. Fiyali looked sorry, but Azubuike really didn't mind. He had thought about it before and came to the conclusion that his name was different. "It is different, isn't it?"

"A bit, maybe," she replied at that, smiling in a relieved sort of fashion when it was clear that she hadn't managed to insult him or anything like that.
"But then again, different isn't a bad thing," she murmured, almost to herself.

Azubuike had to agree with the female. Different things were often fun, like hot pink fur on a lion. The savannah would be a boring place if nothing was different.
"So," he started, "What brings you around these parts?

Farai shrugged one shoulder just slightly and glanced around. "I just ... wander a lot," she confessed after a moment or two.
"And this seemed as good a spot as any to rest for the night... how about you?"

"Same," Azubuike replied, "I've been traveling from place to place for a while now."
The male usually grew bored of the places he stayed and traveled often. He wanted to find some place exciting. So far, he had found no such place.
"Plus I was thirsty and needed a drink," he added with a laugh.

"Well, that's always a good reason to stop by a watering hole!" Fiyali said with a smile and another little laugh. She was slowly relaxing more and more as time went by - enjoying Azubuike's company.
It really had ... been a long while since she had met up with anyone else on her travels. And she had been starting to get a bit lonely.

Azubuike laughed with Fiyali. He was again caught by her laugh and couldn't help but laugh too. It was a relief to have found such good company. The wild dog had started to think that he would continue his travels in silence, a difficult task for such a social male.
"Where are you headed?" he asked.

"Nowhere in particular.." Fiyali answered, with a little shrug. It was good to hear the other laugh as well ... bringing a bit of joy into the world.
"I usually just ... wander around, from place to place." A pause, and she tilted head. "How about you?"
