Hi! This is my new story about a little disabled girl called Elliway (Elli) Victim. She gets leukaemia and everyone knows she will die. This is her diary she writes and when she goes to die, she will put it somewhere for her family to find, and she hopes that she can live on forever in this way.

I was born premature, or early. Very early in fact. Two months and 5 days and 3 and a quarter hours to be proper. They all thought I would die. But I didn't. My legs were different though. They were really small compared to everything else. My mummy showed me pictures, and you see a tiny baby with see-through legs. It's quite funny really. Now, though, I have to use a wheelchair. It's quite funny really, because you get a lot of sympathy.
I first got leukaemia a year back. They gave me chemotherapy and all my hair fell out. That was when my mummy first properly cried. She had been strong through all the medicines, seeing me grow up in a wheelchair, but now she was crying because my long hair all fell out. It was very silly of her.

I didn't really mind, even though the wig mummy made me wear was a bit itchy.
At home, I live with my mummy, my daddy, my 15-year-old brother Trevor, my 13-year-old sister Verony, and our kitten, Iz.
Daddy is out working a lot because he is a pilot on a very important airline and has to fly a lot. Trevor is out a lot too, because he has Very Important School Stuff To Do and a job, and his girlfriend Stacey. Verony is out at ballet and jazz and flute and cello and hockey most nights.
Me, I don't go to any clubs. I don't have a job, I don't have a boyfriend, I don't go to school properly. I'm home-schooled you see. Ever since a year ago, Miss. Bartelman, the ex-head-mistress of the local primary school has been coming over every day to teach me sums and writing. She gave me the idea for writing this book.

Today is a Tuesday. Miss. Bartelman has just been and gone. Today we were doing Home Economics and we made chocolate chip cookies. Stacey came round just after they were finished, looking for Trevor. I told her he was out working at the local garage. Trevor wants to be a mechanic you see. So Stacey stayed a while and tried a cookie and she said they were the best she had ever tasted. I tried one too, and I think she was right.
Mummy has taken Iz out to the vets because she has been sneezing a lot and Mummy thinks it might be a Cold or an Allergy.

Mummy came back with Iz and the vet had said it was an Allergy, and had given mummy some tablets for Iz. The vet said it was probably an Allergy to dust.
Soon after mummy came back, my Best Friend For Life came over. Her name is Farah.
Farah is aged 10 and 1 quarter and she has short black hair in a bob, a bit like mummy's. She has huge blue eyes that feel like she is x-raying you.
Farah has been my Best Friend For Life since I went into hospital 2 years ago. I was in the Children's ward because of my first bout of Leukaemia, and she was in the bed next to me because she had tried to do a flippy-thing off the beam at Gymnastics and had broken both her legs.
We stayed Best Friends For Life even when she was allowed to go back to her house. A few months after that, I went home too. It turned out she only lived in the next village, so I got to see her quite often. Her daddy, who looked a lot like her except had shoulder-length hair and was very tall and muscley, became very good friends with my mummy.

When Farah stood there at the door, she looked even prettier than usual. She was wearing her purple lycra Gymnastics leotard thing still, but had trackies over it. Her hair was somehow scraped into a ponytail.
We went to my room, and I told her I would go get Provisions, and she should stay there. I was wheeling through to the kitchen, and I saw mummy and Farah's daddy standing very close together. She was twirling a lock of her hair round her finger, and he was whispering something to her, and she was giggling. I went and got some of the cookies I had made earlier and put them on a plate and wheeled through again. This time, mummy and Farah's daddy were hugging, except they didn't look like they wanted to let go.
It seemed very intimate, so I just went back to my room. I decided what Farah didn't know couldn't hurt her.

Farah stayed for exactly one hour and 13 minutes. Not that I was bored or anything, I just like knowing things. We played with some dolls she had brought. She didn't like it much when I gave them all names like Sharon and Denise and made them art students at Crayola College and gave them little tattooes because they dared each other to get them, but I enjoyed myself a lot!

All Farah seemed to want to do is talk and do Makeovers. Not that talking is bad, I just don't like only talking. She only ever talks about boys and stuff these days. Makeovers is pretty boring, because I can't stand up, I'm always the person who gets the makovers, I'm the experiment!
I think she gets it from her older sister Therry.
Therry is Farah's 14-year-old sister. She thinks she is very mature and knows stuff such as boys, clothes, make-up, and big-school.
She has had a life crush on my big brother Trevor. Farah just copies Therry about everything because she thinks it makes her look big. With me, it doesn't work much, but it works with all the girls at school, or so she says! I can still remember what most of them looked like if i try really hard, and peek at my class photo on the wall.

It was Farah's mum and Therry who came to pick up Farah this time. Just as they were going, Trevor came in. Therry, who is normally very Composed and Dignified turned bright red and could hardly talk to him at all. When Farah's mum unlocked the car, she turned round and ran back to it to hide.

When Trevor came in he ruffled my wig. I hate it when people do that, because I can't reach him and it makes the wig all askew. He swiped two of my cookies and ran upstairs, his rucksack still over one shoulder. Only moments later he came down again, changed and smelling of aftershave and with his skateboard. I shook my head,"Boys!" I smiled to mum, who was sitting on the sofa with a mug of coffee curled round her fingers.
At the point where mum was staring into space, Verony came in. People are always coming in and out of our house. You can never be lonely!
Verony had her hair up in a windswept ponytail and was breathing heavily. She was carrying a sport's bag and her hockey stick. She was still wearing the skirt and socks. She disappeared upstairs for an hour before coming down.
She was now immacuate. Her hair was straightened, she had obviously had a shower, her nails were freshly manicured and her clothes had not a speck of dirt on them. They were her "homework clothes".
She promptly pulled her pink rucksack out of nowhere and got out her homework and spread it out over the coffee table.
