The Five Elements
Here's an idea for 5 pan'lun painters; each based off of one of the five chinese elements: Earth, Fire, Wood, Water, and Metal.
Might nix this idea.

Description: For his coloring, Ka has a black body base, as with the other 4. His mane, arm fluff, and tail fluff is red and orange, resembling flames in the way they're colored. His horns are golden, as are the scales on his face. And his eyes are a bright red. Ka's belly is bright red as well. On his shoulders, is the
kanji for "fire" in bright red. Surrounding the character is a circle which appears to be a flame of some sort, resembling a fire ball. And around each of his ankles, is a ring of flame, acting as a 'bracelet' of fire.
For edits, he simply has semi-realistic flames surrounding each of his feet.

A little about Ka... Ka is a bit... hot blooded. No pun intended. He's temperamental, but also very passionate about the things he loves. If he ever goes into a rage, Sui is the one that can subdue him best. And Moku is the one that is able to bring out his better half easily.

A little about Sui; She is a very calm and wise painter, but can also be cold and harsh. Do is the one that can subdue her best if she were to become too cold and distant. Kin is the one that can bring the best out of her; making her 'flexible' and helpful to those in need.

Description: Black body base like the others. His mane and fluff are all a dark brown, speckled with black and a lighter brown. Some "cracks" could be seen here and there as well, resembling dried dirt or mud. His belly is a light brown, as with his horns and face scales. And his eyes are a dark brown. His shoulder bears the
Kanji for earth/soil, which is encased in a rough looking hallow brown circle with appears somewhat like the outline of some sort of stone. Each of his feet look as if they've been stepping through fresh mud. There is also some small splotches of this "mud" higher up on his legs and on his tail as well. The mud is drippy.

About Do: Do can either be extremely stubborn or a very loyal and hardworking friend. If he were to become overly stubborn or dense about a matter, Moku can get him to loosen up some. Ka is the one that can bring out his loyal and hardworking self.

About Moku; He's a little full of himself and a bit controlling, but is versatile and can be a good leader. If he gets too demanding or controlling, Kin is the one that can tone him down. Sui is the one that can bring out the better qualities of Moku.

About Kin: She's a big fan of wealth and can be greedy, but she is also willing to share her wealth, along with advise. If she starts to be too greedy, Ka will subdue it. On the other hand, Do is the one that can bring out her generosity.
These five are all about balance to some extent. If one starts to be unruly or out of control, there is one that can keep them in check. Each one also has one that brings out the good within him or her. Together, the five are in harmony as they seek out enlightenment.
