It was raining, a bit of thunder and lightning here or there, but still, it was raining. The sun was just rising over the trees, creating an orange glow within the sky. Cal was walking along a long pathway, covered in tiny pebbles. At this point he was walking by the ocean, the gentle waves lapping up and hitting his big, green paws. He looked around and let out a small sigh, his wings hitting his back as he searched the premises. Christmas would never be the same without a loved one. Usually he spent Christmas with his family, but they had grown farther and farther apart ever since Cal had decided he wanted a mate. Cal was in deep thought, thinking about his family, when a bolt of lightning struck a tree close to him somewhere. Used to this kind of weather, Cal simply looked around, just to make sure that the tree was nowhere near harming him. His thoughts interrupted, Cal trudged on, staring up at the gorgeous sunrise ahead of him.

Fae closed her eyes as she took in the feel of the electrified air around her. The smell and sounds of the storm always calmed her in some way and made her feel at peace. This time of year, for her, was like every other day. She spent it alone, usually trying to forget the fact that she had no one, not even her parents to share it with. Taking in a breath, Fae opened her eyes to meet the rising sun. Her wings fluttered with curiosity as a dark figure passed before her, upon focusing her site on the subject she noticed the shine that came from his wings that sparkled brighter in the sunlight. His features seemed somewhat down, as if he was deep in thought and it made her debate whether or not she wanted to interrupt him, but after a while she decided company might be a good change. "Are you alright?" she called out to him softly taking a couple steps in his direction.

Cal, still deep in thought, heard a female voice call him. He turned his head and found a beautiful sight. Standing behind him, off quite a bit was a gorgeous, purple, female Ulaya. Her wings were in the shape of one of those butterflies that Cal had seen fluttering through the forest. She also had antennae like them. Her eyes were a dark blue color. Astounding, thought Cal, his eyes almost boggling her. His thoughts swam back into his head, remembering what she had called out to him. He took two steps closer toward her and said, "I'm fine, thank you. Just a bit.... lonely." Cal smiled at the female, thinking, maybe my Holiday wish could come true.
bella
As Fae came closer, she noticed his magnetic golden eyes, they almost seemed to gleam as he looked upon her, or so she thought. Oh my... he's so... She smiled, her thoughts swimming thinking about him, he certainly was handsome. Shaking slightly, she rid her coat of the access water, though it was kinda pointless since it was raining. Collecting her thoughts again she looked up to meet his gaze, "I know the feeling.. though this weather.." she smiled tilting her head up toward the sky and closed her eyes, water droplets falling on her face and closed eye lids. "Calms me" she said finished softly adverting her attention back to him. "So why would someone like yourself be walking in weather like this, by yourself?" she asked curiously, surely someone as handsome as he had someone to go home to.
Ruler
Cal watched as the female closed her eyes. She was at peace. He could see that she loved the water. "Ah," he said lamely. "Someone like me? What do you mean by that?" Cal started, raising his eyebrow in sarcastic question. "What's a young lady like yourself doing out here alone?" Cal let out a small chuckle, throwing her own questions back in her face. "Anyway, I have nobody. My family all moved out of these lands, but I just couldn't These lands are all I know. And it's not like I have a mate, or anything..." Cal trailed off, turning a bright shade of red. "My name's Cal, by the way. It's short for," he drew in a breath, "Ta`thar Cal'macil. And you are?" he asked, curious at what the gorgeous young gal's name was.
bella
Fae smiled, her cheeks turned a darker pink with embarrassment. She didn't mean for her statement to offend him. "I'm so sorry, I just meant a male that was so handsome as yourself.." she paused noticing what she had said so bluntly. Crap! "I mean.. umm.. your fur is very attractive.. i mean.." Good going girl.. now your making a complete fool of yourself..
Fae let out a small laugh in spite of herself and her actions before answering him. "I'm usually always alone, like yourself I don't have anyone." The small antennas on her head twitched slightly, a smile coming to her features again at the sight of his blushing. "What a wonderful name." Her small butterfly like wings fluttered cheerfully at her back. "I'm Fae, and it's a pleasure."

Cal smiled, his cheeks blushing as the moment drew on. "You believe me to handsome? Good. I thought it was going to be awkward when I told you how beautiful you were." The smile on Cal's face grew wider and wider with every word he said.
Cal watched as the female's antennae twitched. The way she was laughing and smiling, she could tell she was happy, and quite comfortable around him. "Thank you." Cal said, nodding. He continued to watch as her wings fluttered slightly. She looked oh-so content. "Fae..." Cal said quietly. The sound made his lips quiver. "That is a gorgeous name," he finished, coming back down to earth. "A pleasure it is," Cal said, nodding yet again. He then shifted his wings to a more comfortable position on his back and thought about what he should say next. Nope, nothing. He could not think of one conversation starter. All he had were questions. Where are you from? Any past relationships? Any kids? What do you like to do in your spare time? The thoughts spinning in his head reminded him of an interview, not a friendly chat.

Fae smiled, with a hint of blush on her cheeks. Yeah, compliments always made her blush, but she loved hearing them and giving them back. "Thank you" she said softly, taking a couple more steps in his direction so they were just a couple feet away from eachother. His voice, it was so soothing and seemed to sway her closer as if she was mesmerized by it, by him. And in this storm, with the wind blowing and lightening striking and brightening behind him. He made the perfect sight. "So where were you headed?" she asked softly, her voice very low and fluid as she spoke, her eyes fixated on his.
Ruler
Cal nodded, as if saying your welcome, but he thought more chatting was not too necessary. He watched her intently, Fae seemed to be enjoying the view. Though, it wasn't all too wrong to say Cal loved his view. Every which way she turned, Cal could see a glimmer, a sparkle, a smile. He was lulled by her soft, silky voice. "Me? I had not defined a specific destination. Would you care to join me?" He smiled, a glint in his eye. He locked eyes with her and immediately turned away. His face was redder than one of those Coca-Cola cans he had found floating in the ocean. Feeling the heat die down, he turned back to her and awaited a reply.
bella
Her gaze slid down to the sand at her toes, then shot back up to him again, her smiled gently. "Of course.. I mean.. Yes" she blushed again as she corrected herself. He wants me to join? The redness of his cheeks caused her smiled to enlarge, but not an overwhelming proportion .
The sky seemed to be closing up, the rain was falling slower now and the thunder seemed to be receding. The storm was dissipating. "So.. what do you do on your free time." she asked, trying to keep some of the conversation between them going.

Cal's smile grew seeing that Fae seemed to be quite content with the thought of walking with him. Of course, he could be wrong. He started off their walk with a slow trot. Just then he noticed that the sky seemed to be clearing up. The rain falling slower, the lightning getting less fierce with each passing minute.
"I don't know. I like to pad around in the water. I also love long walks. I love to talk, and be around others." He flashed a quick smile her way and blushed slightly, moving his gaze to the soggy sand he was splashing at with his paws.
"What do you like to do in your free time?" He asked her, sincerely wanting to know the answer.
bella
Fae nodded, slowly trotting along side Cal. She liked being around others as well, but usually couldn't find anyone she could connect with. "Hmm. It seems we have quite a bit in common." The breeze from the walk blew against her wet pelt, cooling her slightly as they trotted.
"I love days like this one, when storm clouds roll in and lightening lights up the sky with a beautiful show. Ans especially days when I get to meet someone new... that I can relate to." she responded, taking a small breath when she finished.
Ruler
"Yes, It does," Cal smiled, joining Fae with the nodding. He shuffled his paws while trotting, pondering a thought. How come he hadn't met anyone else as special as Fae? No one else had made him feel so good, so quick. It was also great that she seemed to feel the same way about him.
"Oh, yes. These are the most beautiful days of the year," Cal pronounced, his smiling growing with each passing moment. "I also love when it snows, and the whole world looks the same. A white fluffy blanket just laying there, waiting to be trampled upon. It's oh so beautiful." Cal listened contently, preparing his next sentence. "Yes. Meeting someone new is... it's just... it's a valuable thing. To have connected with someone in this peaceful manner, and feel so close to them when you hardly know them is amazing," Cal spat out. The sentence, to him, seemed to come out in a jumble of words. Hopefully it sounded good.

Fae slowed her pace at bit, but stayed at his side. Her eyes looking to the ground or the sky as she walked. It was strange to her that she was comfortable around Cal, though was still shy and easily embarrassed. I mean, she barely knew him. She didn't even know if he had siblings or kits. Oh my goodness, why am i thinking about this? Her face brightened at the very thought it, she knew why.
She nodded slightly to his statement. She had only seen snow a couple times, and that had been when she was young. "I remember snow, vaguely. It was beautiful and almost sparkled in the sun light." she said small smile. "And I know the feeling. You barely know them and yet feel like you could tell them just about anything." Fae's smile grew a bit as she looked at him, then back to the ground. Hopefully he didn't catch on to that...though it wouldn't be all that bad if he felt the same.

Cal kept trotting along, taking notice of how Fae never seemed to have eye contact with him. He let a gasp slip when she said she only vaguely remembered snow. Some of his fondest childhood memories were of him romping around, covered in snow.
"Yes, snow always looks gorgeous. Except for when it becomes slush," Cal said with a smile creeping upon his face. "Yeah. That's exactly how it is." Cal let out a soft laugh, seeing she just embarrassed herself, apparantly. He somehow got the feeling she liked him, too.
"So... you said before you have no one, does that mean no kits, too?" Cal inquired, probably sounding a little too anxious and hopeful. "I know I don't have any kits, but there is nothing wrong with having kits," Cal spat out hurriedly. He was sort of hoping she had no kits, but he did love children. But what if she didn't actually like him? Thoughts swam around in Cal's head like the little fish in the ocean next to him.

"Yeah, that's one time that snow isn't beautiful. But as i remember, it is fun to have shush fights." She said with a small laugh as she looked over at him, her dark blue eyes shining brightly into his own. She looked away with a blush as she continued their journey.
She shook her slightly at his question, her small antenna twitching on her head. "No, I'm pure." she turned back to him, her eyes a bit wider as she realized what she said. "I mean... no i haven't had kits, nor a meaningful relationship." she quickly corrected. Oh my gods! why did i... how did i let that slip. Fae smiled nervously. How would he react when he found out she was Pure? She didnt want to think about it soshe kept her gaze on the ground as she trotted along side him.

Cal nodded. "Yes, I completely agree. And yes, slush fights have always been fun." He let out a small laugh, and kept padding along right beside her.
He watched as the antenna atop her head twitched slightly. He laughed immediately when she answered. "You're pure, eh?" Cal arched his eyebrow and looked her up and down, as if sizing her up. Another laugh. "Don't worry," he started, "I'm pure too," he admitted, looking at the ground. "Of course, in my eyes," he lifted his head and gazed into her deep, blue eyes, "There's nothing wrong with that." He smiled, and readied his next sentence. "Nor have I. I haven't met anyone I've truly connected with in a while," he said, still gazing into her eyes. His face then grew red and hot, and he looked away, breaking the trance. He stared down at his paws, as she had done many times that night.

Fae stopped dead in tracks as he broke out laughing, and as she waited underneath his stare she figged, scoring the dirt beneath her paws with her claws. But with his next reply she smiled a bit, her wings fluttering slightly behind her. "I would have never guessed, you very..." she blushed slightly and took a step closer to him "Pretty.. erm.. Handsome." she corrected quickly. In a while.. Does that mean..? She smiled at the thought and laid down in front of his feet so she could stare up at him while he looked at his paws.
"I find you different from many males I've met." She smiled as her tail fluffed slightly behind her, though if was watching her, he wouldnt really notice. "And I like it, alot." Fae cheeks brightened as she said it, but she couldn't seem to stop gazing into his golden eyes.

Cal slowed to a stop when Fae stopped. He chuckled along with her. Cal saw her beautiful purple wings flutter a bit. "Oh, really now?" Cal feigned a look of confusion, laughter bursting from his mouth. "My handsomeness is absolutely nothing compared to your inner - and outer - beauty. You? Pure? I wouldn't thought that you had a mate, let alone kits. Though, your figure does not show any sight of birthing," he spat out quickly. The last sentence, he expected, probably sounded odd. Oh, well. What was done is done. He shifted his gaze from his paws to her eyes. They were an extreme color blue. The kind of color you'd see if you looked into the sky on a dark and stormy night. Or the color the ocean was at midnight, or early morning. Whatever it was, it was beautiful.
He smiled back, "Thank you. You aren't so normal either. You're..." Cal paused, he let out a small laugh, in seeing he was at a loss for words. "I was going to say pure, as it is quite fitting, but I think I'll say... special instead," he nodded, in a content sort of way. He was happy he found a word to describe her. Not the perfect word, though. It was quite sad, really. The perfect girl could only be described by normal words.

Fae smiled and giggled slightly at his words. "It may not be, but your definitely the most honest, and kind Ulaya I've met. And as for my figure." She blushed slightly. "Lots of females don't have signs of birthing." She had to admit that last part sounded weird but in a way it was a nervousness she found kinda cute. As his gaze board into hers she couldn't help but be drawn into his eyes and the heat that seemed to be gathered between the two them.
She giggled again, wiggling her small tail. "I prefer the term Unique."

"Thank you," Cal said, still smiling. "A lot do, though, and your one that wouldn't," He nodded slightly, just for effect. They seemed to sit there forever, in a trance. They were both staring into each other's eyes, maybe deep in thought.
"Well, that's a great word too," Cal said. Unique.... he liked that word.

As they stood silently gazing unto each other, Fae's blush became harder and harder to hide as the color on her cheeks became a darker shade of rose. She blinked once then tilted her head down to meet her toes. "Thank you, that's very sweet of you."
She tilted her head up once again to meet his gaze, then smiled. "well I actually meant it as a joke" she teased, taking a couple steps towards him. It was more to continue they're walk, but she also enjoyed the feeling she received whenever she got close to him. He made her feel as if she was a kit again, the anxiousness and joy that she hadn't felt in while, which was why she was always a bit flighty.

"You are quite welcome, Fae," Cal said, watching as her cheeks turned from light pink, to a deep shade of red.
"Ah," he said, laughing. "Okay." He felt the world around him grow warmer as she stepped closer to him. "Shall we continue?" He asked, forcing one of his front paws to move forward. He really didn't want to leave this moment behind.

"Y-yes" she answered with a small smile and a nod of her head. "Any idea on where we're headed?" The curiosity in her lead her to take a couple more steps towards him.
"It's actually getting close to meal time, isn't it?" she asked. The thought of water and a small meal sounded great the moment, all this traveling was catching up. "Would you like to stop at the lake? We could catch something there if you like."

"Where we're headed? I'd like to think we'd start at a meaningful friendship level, and soon we'd blossom into an adorable couple, walking the beaches everywhere. You?" He laughed. "Yes, and the lake sounds great," he smiled, the redness on his cheeks thickening from the first comment he had made. Was that a mistake? To talk about a relationship that didn't - and might not - exist?

Fae snickered a bit, her cheeks holding a deep blush that made her cheek warm to touch. "Nice one." she said giving him a small nudge with her shoulder. He was thinking about her. She closed her eyes and smiled at thought, then continued on their path. "Good" she answered looking back, giving him a small wink. Whooa.. that wasn't like me...
Ruler of Everything
"Thanks," He chuckled, looking down as she nudged him. He smiled, and kept walking. He nodded at her comment, and continued on toward the lake. His smile widened when she gave him a playful wink. So she had a naughty side, too? Or at least a playful, flirty side. Santa Ulaya must love her. Not more than Cal did, of course, but... Cal's cheeks turned to an extreme shade of red. It was deeper than his twin, Lo'larox's fur was. Which was pretty dark.

Fae's smile grew as she thought about her attempt at flirting with Cal. Would he flirt back? If he did, what would he do? She bit her lip at the simple thought of it. And the color of his cheeks she sensed he was thinking about it too.
As the lake came into view, her smile grew. "Well, we're here.." she sigh softly turning back to meet his gaze. "Now.." she smirked. "The first one to the water..." Fae grinned and started off towards the lake as she shouted to him "gets..." her voice trailed off as she thought about it for a moment. What would the winner get? Eh, she'd think about it when the time came.

As Fae started off, of course, Cal followed her. As she started to trail off on her last snippet of a sentence, he pressed his muzzle up against hers, in a very, very, friendly gesture, and ran off toward the lake. "I think I might beat you!" His attempt at flirting had left a small, awkward pause, in which he had broken with his challenging words. He looked back at her to see if she was following or not, hoping she would.
