Ok so i had to make this for my french project...and everyone said it was really good so i thought id share it with yall! here it is!

Crust: 1 cup of all-purpose flour
¼ teaspoon salt
1/3 cup shortening
3 to 4 tablespoons cold water
In a mixing bowl stir together flour and salt. Cut in shortening till pieces are the size of small peas. Sprinkle 1 tablespoon of the water over part of mixture; gently toss with a fork. Push to side of bowl. Repeat till all is moistened. Form into a ball. On a lightly floured surface, flatten bal of dough with hands. Roll dough to form center to edges, forming a circle about 12 inches in diameter. Wrap pastry around rolling pin. Unroll onto a 9inch pie plate, ease pastry into pie plate, being careful not to stretch pastry. Trim the crust so that it is halfway up pie plate. Preheat oven at 350 degrees. Cover the crust with a non-stick paper. Cover the paper with rice or dried beans to keep the pastry from rising. Bake the pastry for 20 minutes.

Tarte aux Fraises Filling: ½ lb strawberries
9 fl oz milk
3 egg yolks
1.5 oz sugar
0.7 oz corn starch
½ stick butter
Wash and core the strawberries; slice the strawberries. Bring the milk to a boil and whisk the egg yolks with the sugar until the mixture gets clearer and a little bit frothy. Add the starch and mix to obtain a homogeneous mixture. Pour the hot milk little by little, turning with the whisk. When finished, put the mixture back in the milk saucepan; put on a low/medium flame and whisk until the mixture gets thicker. Take off from flame, add the butter and turn until melted and incorporated. Let it cool down for a few minutes. When the pastry is cooked, get it out from oven and pour the cream, spread it evenly on the tart and let it cool down. Display the strawberry halves in circles on the cream and refrigerate.

I know it looks really long but it really wasnt that hard to make and its not very sweet but it is soo worth it soo yum!
