 Lorraine sighed in exaspiration as she looked over her shoulder. She'd finaly gotten rid of that anoying little fox. She kept her gait at a livley trot, almost canter, oh yes, she enjoyed the company of her freind but he could be bothersome. What right did he have to tell her what her purpose in life was? All snooty like....
Her speed slowed down to a walk as the ground beneeth her hooves grew squishy and icey in other places. She grumbled at the snow that had melted and left the earth muddy and slick. Yesterday she had actually slipped in the mud, that was fun to clean off.
Lorri stopped near the bank of a rocky creek that rippled and washed over smooth stones. She put her front hooved in the water and let it was away the mud. She knew it was a wastefull atempt but the mud feeling got anoying after a while. Stepping out of the icy water and dipping her muzzle to it, taking a few drinks. She brought her head up and alowed her bright green eyes to venture over her surroundings.

 For the first time in a while, Mahavir decided he needed to stop spending all his time napping around. After the winter began, he stopped going for walks and exploring the land. His daily routine had been- get food, take a bath, get food, and nap. The fact that it'd also been a few months since he'd last seen another horse didn't help his attitude. Mahavir loved to socialize; the reason he had come to these lands was to meet some new faces. But the only faces he'd seen were the birds that didn't migrate. All the wanted to do was steal whatever food he had found.
But the weather had made a turn for the better. The sun was shining and the snow had melted. After setting out along a small path, Mahavir couldn't help but go into a little prance. Along the way he shook his head and let the sun flow around his long hair.
Suddenly, his prance was interrupted by a spash. Looking done, Mahavir discovered mud running all up and down his legs. Determined not to let this stop his good mood, Mahavir made his way towards a small river he heard rushing nearby. Upon clearing the trees, Mahavir was shocked to see another horse, a mare, standing by the river. So there he stood, mud and all.

Lorraines head jerked around to the rustling behind her, narrowing her green eyes expecting to see Svayi, "What do you..." her anoyed voice trailed off, noting that it wasn't the fox, no, he was indeed much bigger than a fox. Her gaze trailed up the muddy legs of the tan body and met with the red eyes of the stallion.
"Oh! H-hello." Lorri blushed in humiliation, "I'm sorry I thought you were some one else! " She stepped away from the bank and gave a small smile to the stallion. The chilled wind that blew around them teased at her mane, ruffling it a bit on its passing.

Mahavir was somewhat startled by her first harsh response, but relaxed after he learned it wasn't him who she was upset with. And he was thankful first first words hadn't been a reference to his muddied appearance. Figuring it was okay, Mahavir inched forward towards the edge of the water.
As he slowed moved forward, a gust of wind blew at his mare and got some of it caught up in the small amount of mud that had made it up around his neck. "Hey, who thought I'd meet someone else here. I'm Mahavir." He said, bowing his head slightly and giving a big grin.

Lorraine smiled widly seeing she was forgiven for her rude-ness. Her face turned to its regular color as her company aproached. She flicked her tail to te side, turning as she folowed his movements untill he stopped next to the creek.
"Its a pleasure to meet you Mahavir! Im really sorry about snapping at you like that. I'm Lorraine." A small, but happy smile spread across her face as she introduced her self.

"Lorraine? That's a beautiful name. Does it mean anything special?" Mahavir questioned, curiously. Glancing downward towards the water, he got the first glimpse of what a sorry state he was in. His mane was tangled slightly, mud spotted his neck, and his legs were fitted with mud socks. Looking up back, Mahavir glanced around anxiously. Usually, he cleaned himself by running around and jumping through the water. But there was no way he would do this in front of someone else. Especially a mare!
"I've made quite the mess out of myself!" Mahavir finally said laughing. But he couldn't help but show his delema on his face.

"Oh." She giggled a bit. "No, I don't think it does. Thank you though." Maybe she should find out if it did, for future reference, or simply for her personal knowledge. She was truly curious now though. Tilting her head curiously she watched him examine himself in the pond.
"Its not that bad....oh, well...." She grimmaced, how do you tell some one they are right about somthing bad, in a nice way? She was scattered. "....If you look past all the mud splotches, I'm sure some one could see you." Lorri joked lightly hoping he noticed it as a friendly gesture and didn't get ofended.

"That's alright," Mahavir replied, realizing now how strange that question was. It should definitely not be a conversation starter. "I don't know anything about mine." In truth, he didn't. All Mahavir knew was that was the name he was given. But hey, he thought it was interesting, so who cares what it means?
Mahavir could tell by the pauses in her speech that he truly was a mess. But her lighthearted joke showed him she really didn't mind. But he decided to give her a hardtime anyway. "Is that so? Well, it's nearly impossible to see you under all that water." Mahavir said, splashing up some water in her direction. Hopefully though, she wouldn't mind getting a little wet.

Lorraine laughed and shook her mane as she was splashed with water. "Oh really? It would seem." She said, still laughing. "As far as I can tell, water is easier to see through than mud, which usually isnt transparent." She gave a smug smile as she splashed him a bit with the cool water and watched it, and mud, roll off of him. She laughed again.

Mahavir laughed, realized how lame his joke had been. But then again he had never been too good with snappy responses. Not clever ones atleast.
Smiling, Mahavir watched the mud begin to roll off him. "I can almost see myself!" He exclaim while continuing to splash Lorraine. I guess it's good that I met someone else here... Mahavir thought as he noted how shallow the water in the river was. There would have been no way for him to get the water any higher than his knees. And the mud definitely went higher than that.
Once almost all his mud had been cleaned off in the fight, Mahavir stopped his splashing. He then shook his head to dry his now soaked hair. In the process, he managed to dot Lorraine with little drops of water. "Opps!" Mahavir laughed, smiling.

Lorraine, now soaked with water, and still being sprayed with it after Mahvirs shake, decided on a little pay back. "Oh sure! Just get me even more wet!" She laughed and shook out her own choppy, pink mane and when finaly ste stopped it plastered its self to her neck and face.
Lorri's eyes were excited and happy, she had gone from tottally pissed off to light hearted. Mahavir had lifted her spirits and she was gratefull for that. Who knows what kind of day she'd of had if she'd kept beeing mad at the world?

Mahavir couldn't stop laughing as he watched Lorraine's attempt to dry her own hair. In the end, it ended up plastered to her face and neck just like his had. Glancing up towards the sky, Mahavir sight was immediately blocked by the cluster of branches from the surrounding trees. Despite their leaves being nowhere to be seen, the branches themselves still blocked out most of the sun's rays. Mahavir could only imagine the black pit this place must be in the summertime.
Giving a small shiver, Mahavir suggested, "Why don't we go somewhere else? I'm freezing now!" In fact, Mahavir had actually been warmer with the mud on. At least then he wasn't soaking wet. But he couldn't really complain since he brought that on himself.

"Where do you sugest we go?" Lorraine asked, tilting her head to the side a bit in question. She repressed the urge to shivver her coat off, but vaguely. She turned slightly away from Mahavir to the way she'd came to the trickling creek. A slightly diferent, more dificult path than Mahavir's seemed to be. Now that she thought on it, she was surprised she didn't trip.

Lorraine's question made Mahavir suddenly remember that he hadn't been on these lands for too long. This being said, the only places he knew of were this river and the place he had come from. For the last few months, Mahavir had been on the move; constantly going from place to place. The only spots he remembered were from the last place he'd been.
"Umm, well... where do you want to go?" Mahavir asked, trying to conceal the fact that he didn't have a place to go.

Lorraine pondered a moment, chewing on her bottom lip in thought. Tapping her hoof slightly, she looked back to Mahavir. "Why not go for a walk? Thats awlways fun."
