Melody: Trotting along a narrow path through the overgrown edge of the forest could be seen a bright pink lady, humming happily in the some what eerie silence. Off exploring she was yet again, wanting to find new places partly to inspire but simply because she was curious and being a tad nosy.
She halted suddenly and took out her map. There was one place in particular she wanted to find today. This map she had found lying in amongst Honaw's things. There was a red X on it so perhaps there was treasure to be found! She wasn't overly into treasure as such, but she was curious all the same and it was something fun to do. According to this, it was at the end of this forest path...
She continued to trot along, finally nearing the spot where the "X" was marked. It was to the left of the path, in a darkened corner where it was hard to see anything at all. She trotted over to the very place and stood quietly for a moment, feeling triumphant already. She couldn't wait to show Cotton whatever it was she would find there! She smiled thinking of him.
Little did she know that whilst she had been thinking of all this, the ground beneath her hooves had been slowly giving way. Until....CRASH! Melody was now stuck in a rather big hole. After a couple of coughs she blinked and looked around. Well that saved her digging atleast! So much for treasure though, there was none here at all! Although there was a piece of paper, which could be seen under the little beam of light which shone through the trees and into the hole. She held it there and it read: "You shouldn't be so nosy." Her eyes widened and she tossed aside the paper, glaring up out of the hole. How was she meant to get out of here??? "Hello can anyone hear me?" She called, not yet panicked about being in a hole but still wanting to get out all the same.

Cotton was proud of himself as he pranced under the light of the shimmering sunlight as it warmed upon his back. He felt himself a lucky stallion for he carried in his heart a most remarkable mare that sung like a lyrical angel. Nothing could of made him more content or able to spout the most intricate poetry just by seeing her smiling face.
He truly was the luckiest stallion that roamed these plains, at least he believed it to be true anyway.
But on this grand day where the breeze was light and the sun was warm his beloved could not be found. Cotton with a furrowed brow searched here and there seeking his true love for it was she that made him feel complete. Pawing the ground he lifted his head and called outward to the breeze passing by, "Melody... My heart are you here?" Looking around as his two-toned shining mane swept his shoulders he became nervous.
Breaking into a gallop he frantically searched for Melody wouldn't just up and disappear like she was now. Indeed something must of happened. No. He would never let harm befall such an angel as she. She just had to be somewhere, anywhere just out of his reach in finding her.
"Melody?" he called again lowering his head toward the ground sniffing the grasses and rocks. Then he heard a sound, one of an angel calling out though deeper below than where he stood. Flicking his tail he took off in a canter toward her voice, the simple song that carried in her voice.
Scooting to a stop he swung his head around and listened, "Melody? I hear you but I can not place where it is you call from my beautiful angel? Are you in trouble or injured?" he asked listening to where she was calling from.

Melody: What was with the weird note? I mean, was this specifically aimed at her or for anyone who went snooping around? She wasn't nosy was she? Worry had started creeping in, making her pace nervously. The idea had just formed that she might never be found or get out...then she'd never see Cotton again! Oh no, why did she have to go on a silly treasure hunt in the first place!
Just before she started going further into misery and worry, she perked up upon hearing that sweet and familiar sounding voice. "I'm here over here!" She called out trying to sound calm as not to worry him, both relieved and excited that he had found her.
She paused for a moment deciding "here" was not an adequate description of where she was stuck. She thought of how to describe the area. "Umm I'm in a rather large hole to the left of the main path. I'm alright but it's rather dark, don't fall in yourself!" Now she was rather worried again, thinking that he might fall in himself. She'd rather stay in here all by herself than for him to get hurt and to be stuck here too. If she wasn't so worried perhaps she would have also been embarressed. It was kind of her own fault in a way, exploring off to a place on a map she didn't know.

His eyes searched and scanned stepping high over a few moss covered vines, stumps, and bushes thick with brambles. He was swift moving steadily listening to her voice as he came to an overhanging to a lower area. She was close he could feel it as his head craned over to see such an odd sized deep hole. Leaping downward with a powerful kick of his hindquarters he pranced up to where he knew she'd be.
Standing in a hole with dirt that had fell within her mane and soiled her pretty pink coat, he was nearly speechless that she had fell in such an unstable place.
"Melody sweet... why are you in such a strange place my love?" he queried with worry in his eyes. Was she hurt or injured and how would she escape this prison that held his lovely mate.
Looking around him he sought something she could use for leverage to get out of that horrible place. Plenty of fallen trees, rocks, branches, but what he needed was something with a bit of a lift. Snorting he pawed the ground then looked back at her with worried eyes, "I'll get you out of there Melody... just give me a moment to find something."
Turning around he started to search hoping something would grab his attention.

Melody: Her eyes glittered in the darkness, beyond happy that he had found her. Words couldn't describe how delighted she was to see him and how brave she thought him. She didn't mind so much that she was still stuck in here.
After a moment she gave a rather sheepish grin at his question. "Well the ground I had been standing on collapsed. Now here I am..."
Watching as he searched for something to help her, she decided to also look around for something that could possibly help. It would have been so much easier if she was some sort of small creature or even a human.
Spotting nothing useful she sighed heavily and frowned, thinking of what to do. She tapped a hoof on the side of the hole rather frustrated and winced expecting to feel a whole lot of dirt drop onto her. Why did I do that???
Opening her eyes she realised nothing had happened. "Huh. Maybe it's not so bad."

Cotton was searching with his head swaying this way and that seeking something, anything to help his beloved from her imprisonment. But nothing seemed to grab his attention still as he searched and hoped. Finally he stopped and seated himself upon his haunches to contemplate anything that could be used for his purpose. Being stuck in a hole was no fun, and at night things unspeakable would find jovial fun with a mare in distress.
No! He would never let anything happen to the love of his life. He foresaw many years ahead of them and took pride in the beauty they shared with one another. Without Melody he was not complete and that the charming pink unicorn male wouldn't ever face.Perking his ears a lightblue unicorn male caught sight of Cotton sitting in distress as his eyes showed signs of nervousness for Melody. Watching the pink male for a moment he walked over toward Cotton with a smile and bright eyes upon his face, "Yo Cotton. How come you're not with Melody. Time for some "me time" perhaps?" he chuckled looking at his half brother whom carried a beard the same as he did.Cotton Candy looked upward with worried eyes at his younger brother born of another mother but still the same father as his own. "Rockin' Beat... I'm in a dilema right now for my beautiful Melody is trapped in a vile hole with no escape. I'm at a loss for nothing here is worth using to get her out, and nightfall will come sooner than we think, " his gaze reached his brother with a pleading for answers, even a solution to this horrid situation.Rockin' Beat hated seeing his brother look so dishelved and beside himself so he offered some help if only to pull Cotton out of his anxiety, "Well I'm here so two is better than one right? Hmm lets see here," he murmured noticing a large fallen tree, "Lets use this and something to pull her out with. No worries she'll be by your side before the darkness sets in."
Trotting over to the hole he peeked in seeing Melody, "Hey there pretty lady... Cotton and I are going to get you out of there... just hang on, "he then trotted back and started pushing the dead tree.Cotton watched his half brother letting his senses pull himself back together then called out to Melody, "That's my brother Melody. Now that he's here we'll have no problem. Stand back a bit if you can so this doesn't fall on you my love.." .
He then trotted over to help push the tree toward the hole with his brother's help.

Melody: After the frustration at having found nothing to help vanished she became for the most part calm. Cotton was there to rescue her so she wasn't too worried now, even as time passed. The worry that continued to exist was for his safety.
"You'll find something." She called up to him encouragingly.
Pausing at hearing voices conversing, she stared up trying to get a glimpse of who Cotton was talking to. When the lightblue unicorn peeked into the hole and announced he and Cotton were going to get her out, she gave a nod and smiled. Hearing Cotton declare that this was his brother actually made her begin to laugh quietly. It was just that she hadn't pictured meeting anyone from Cotton's family like this.
Quickly she stood back upon Cotton's warning and waited hopefully for the way out.

Cotton along with his brother pushed the log as hard as they could without too much force that it would fall downward and nail the poor girl. If this would be true the pink stallion adorned with a horn could never forgive himself. So he urged his brother to also watch how hard and forceful he put himself into his workload.
Rockin' shook his head in understanding that Cotton's words were correct and just. If his brother's mate were to be injured, well he wouldn't hear the end of it. So, he pushed with moderate strength till they met at the hole, "Alright Miss Melody we're going to try and lower this thing as gently as we can. You should have enough room to stand if we do this right.
Cotton noted this log was a bit flat yet it had grooves. The only thing that bugged him was how she'd manage to scramble up the thing once it fell into place. But he let himself stay positive toward getting her out at whatever cost.
"Melody. Just hang in there... you're gonna be fine love." he murmured nodding to his brother as he began to push the odd shaped log.
Rockin' nodded back to his brother as he put weight into the movement letting the log slide downward thankfully missing her by a few feet. Now he too was wondering just how she'd climb such a thing, but being himself didn't breathe a word.
"Excuse me," a timid yet friend voice became known as a female bear showed herself. Pink of course with a sunny rainbow painted upon her chest carrying striking eyes of blue.
"I think you may need this as well, "she nodded toward the thick vine lying at her feet, "You'll both need to hold it though, for she'll need support climbing out."
Cotton turned his head curiously at the little bear whom like a god sent angel was there to help like his brother. Smiling with a nod he called down to Melody, "Grab onto this love. Really tight for we're pulling you out as you climb."
"That's right," Rockin' nodded grabbing the vine as well. Together they wained for her to grab on and start climbing.

The map... Even though she suspected it was worthless, she'd take it with her all the same. Searching, she found the map fairly quickly resting not far behind her. Luckily it had fallen in a spot visible, yet away from where the log was being dropped. Spotting the paper she had tossed aside there beside it she hesitantly took that as well.
Glancing back just in time to see the log fall into place she let out a sigh. Ok you can do this. "I'm coming up." She called, letting them know she was about to start the ascent. With the addition of the log the hole now seemed an awful lot smaller and this made her wish to get out quickly.
Grabbing the vine in her mouth she pulled on it testily. Placing one hoof on the log then two, three and four- she began to climb up steadily. Quietly she told herself not to look behind and became cautious of tripping.

Cotton stood alongside his brother as they pulled the vine together nice and taunt so Melody could climb out. She wasn't that light for no horse of their size ever was, but he wasn't letting a little problem like that get to him. Right now he was determined to pull her out if it took all he had.
Rockin' Beat backed up little by little as his pink sparkly brother did each in turn pulling the lovely damsel out of her distress. He snorted taking a bit more of the strain while letting Cotton focus on getting his mate out.
Ahyoka sat amazed as the two stallion were working together as a team. She couldn't help but giggle how they both carried really long beards that hung from their chins. It was interesting and yet they looked quite silly to her, though she was nothing but a little pink bear. She was glad she could be of help.
Cotton flicked his long tail and smiled, "Just a little bit more love..., "he coached her as the vine held fast in his teeth. The stallion was dying to ask her just why she had gotten into that situation, but that would wait till she was completely out for now.

Melody: Without their pulling she wouldn't have gotten very far at all...it wasn't easy getting up a log. Ignoring this, with each step towards freedom she became more and more confident and liked to think she was doing pretty well.
Hearing that she only had a little bit further made her go faster. So, instead of exiting the dark hole as gracefully as possible, she rather tripped out of it. Landing in front of the others with a thud she grinned up at them in between dusty curls. "Thankyou! Thankyou! Thankyou!" Gazing admiringly at Cotton she announced with a smile. "I knew you would get me out."
Concerntrating on getting up again, she stood up rather shakily, resting against Cotton to steady herself. She let out a relieved sigh nudging him gently.

Cotton wasn't angry at his beloved but he was truly miffed why she would go and get herself into a predicament like that one - what was she thinking he wondered. Leaning in closer he took in her scent greatfully, a thank you she was still standing instead of in that hole where he couldn't reach her. The thought made him giddy knowing his brother had came along around the right time to lend a hoof so to speak. Nuzzling his mate he looked at his brother, "Rockin' once again I'll give my greatest appreciation and acknowledgment for you have helped in saying my dearest."
Rockin chuckled as Cotton amused the paler blue stallion with amusement, for Cotton was always so indpeth when it came to his thoughts. Like poetry written strongly in a rush of emotion, Cotton was never boring to say the least. Ah how things were strange yet faciniating at times. He nodded his head to Melody admiring the pinkness the two shared. Just like their father pink was a color that reigned over all in its outspoken beautiful flair. "You know I'd help you in a heartbeat bro, besides who would leave a gorgeous lady like that trapped anyway? Not me and well she's your heart and soul as you always say it right? That's why."
Cotton chuckled at his brother's silliness, they both had that uniqueness about them. Then his eyes turned back to Melody, "My love if you need help searching for buried treasure do well to involve me and, " he looked at Rockin with a distinguished nod, "and I'm sure Rockin would help too."
The powder blue stallion nodded, "Indeed.. now what is it we're searching for? Is it pirate's gold mi'lady?" He was being rather silly but it was anything to cheer her up from being stuck in that hole.

Melody began to relax quickly knowing she was safe once more with her love. She stuck close beside Cotton, never wanting to worry him again or be without him. Looking from Cotton to Rockin she gave a small chuckle. The two were clearly brothers. "Its nice to finally meet you Rockin." Looking slightly sheepish she added. "Sorry it was like this."
At the mention of buried treasure her eyes widened and she began to nervously laugh. "Did I show you the map I found and this peice of paper..." She revealed the map and the peice of paper she had found down in the hole, eyeing them both supposing it had all been a trick.

Cotton chuckled at his brother's silly response for Rockin' was generally the one that liked to be a silly sort now and then. "Pirate's gold huh? Rockin you are silly at times." He turned to look at his mate with a chuckle while looking at the paper, "Hmm well it might be false and then you know my love perhaps your coordinates were a bit off." He looked over the map once more then to his brother for a moment.
Rockin' puffed out his chest then looked at Melody with an air of adoration before he turned to his brother, "She is quite beautiful..." he coughed with a blush noticing how he had said that openly, "Err yeah the map. Hmm if your coordinates were off... wait the paper may be more then a note Melody... I mean the map. Cotton has a point."
Ahyoka scratched her chin, "Can I see the map Miss Meoldy? I'm good with helping others find things and good company too." She smiled gently placing her pink paws outward in hopes the pretty mare would listen to her idea as well.
Cotton nodded his head in a sagely matter, "Sure little cherry bear I'm sure Melody has no qualms about you helping us. Go on and take a look."
Rockin' tossed his head with a sway of his curled locks that sprung as he moved upon his neck in a swaying motion, "Well then if it is true that you looked in the wrong place... a trick perhaps... then we just might have ourselves an adventure Miss Cotton Candy." He chuckled saying that toward Cotton's mate knowing it would inflate his ego a bit. Who wouldn't do such a thing as envious as Rockin' was of his brother's beautiful love. The powderblue stallion certainly was as his eyes smiled back at the pretty mare.
