I'll be completely honest with all of you. The main reason I'm here isn't to meet new people or discuss Japanese culture (though I'm not in any way opposed to it); I've been tasked with translating an old Famicom game called Lagrange Point, and in doing so have found my two and a half year hiatus from anything resembling formal Japanese training has hindered me somewhat. In layman's terms, my Japanese is hella rusty, and I need some help from people who are more talented than I am.

I can comprehend the language well enough to know what's going on in the game, who the characters are, what items I have, and all that. The problem comes with knowing all of that exactly. Most of my translation has been through educated guesswork, and the further in I get the more it shows. It seems the more I use a certain word or phrase I'm "pretty sure" about, the more likely it seems that I'm completely wrong.

If you're experienced in Japanese, you're interested in old video games that never saw light outside of Japan, and the concept of translation doesn't completely bore you, please respond. Even if you aren't that talented, I may be able to use you (as chances are you'll know some things that I don't), so don't feel shy to respond if the project sounds interesting. A greater description of the game, some screenshots, or even some scans of the manual can easily be provided upon request.

Translating games is no easy task... that is unless you have several text editors and table makers. At some cases the fonts doesn't load properly making the translation into confusion.
