Still nestled deep within Grandmothers herd along with his father, the young colt had found his curiosity sparked hours after the sun had risen by a small, monarch butterfly that had landed upon his muzzle. The thrill of such a colorful thing landing on his muzzle for several moments had caused him to stir as his eyes found themselves glued upon it and mouth slightly ajar with a small dribble of drool at the side. It was when the butterfly had begn to flutter off in a dainty and elegant, drifting manner that Rue had stumbled quickly to his hooves and began persuing the very interesting thing.
Although he had looked back occasionally to where his father laid and knowing that he shouldn't run off, there was the pull of his own curiosity and his surreal imagination that had leg him to believe that perhaps the butterfly was trying to tell him something or show him something. And as a colt whose sense of reality was skewed in such innocent beliefs Rue followed.
The butterfly drifted with a gliding motion as its colorful appearance seemed to tempt the small colt onwards. Most viewed the butterfly as mysterious, dainty and beautiful but perhaps in another light it could be misleading as the poor creature was leading on Rue with its tempting, seductive silence that could only initiate the cogs of the colts brain to turn round and round. And sever steps following behind was Rue; the son of Ezriel and Eponine and brother of Cassiel. That typical lopsided smile stretched across his maw while his tounge seemed to hang out slightly at the side, prancing with eyes fixed upon the butterfly. His small hooves clopped and clapped against the ground as a squeal or two emitted from out of his maw in pure glee but each time he quickly closed his mouth and ducked low hoping not to lose track of the butterfly.
"Flutterby..." He whispered, giving a swish of his crimson tail like that of an excited canine. "Flutterby where are you taking Rue? Is flutterby taking Rue to a maaaaagical land? Rue dun wanna go without daaaaaaady- but Rue likes surprises," he grinned, giggling to himself.
A simply sweep of its tiny wings and the butterfly pulled ahead causing the young colt to gasp.
"RUE DIDN' MEAN TO UPSET FLUTTERBY! RUE FOLLOW, RUE FOLLOW!" The colt pleaded, stumbling a bit as he kicked up his pace. Those pale, white ears flickered as he scrunchd up his muzzle, breathing out of his mouth with a pant or two.
"DUNLEAVERUEFLUTTER!"
Unknowingly Rue had been lead towards the outskirts of the herd territory and into the open outskirts of the unknown. Although he was oblivious to this nature, the young colt found relief as the butterfly seemed to elegantly change direction and head towards him. The colt squeaked as the butterfly settled upon the tip of his nuzzle but with a simple movement and a delicate sensation much like a final goodbye kiss, the monarch took wing into the air and drifted higher and higher into the air until it was impossible to pinpoint its exact location. And needless to say it left the small colt with a quivering lip and ears low against his skull.
"Fl-flu-flutterby..." He whined, turning around in circles over and over again as he looked upwards and glanced around. But somehow a lopsided smile found itself to plaster itself upon his maw as he nodded his head. "Rue dun have wings flutterby but Rue will miss you!" Rue called out, pursing his lips slightly as he lowered his head back in front of him.
So the next question was where was he.
Well that was a very good question!
Not knowing what to do, Rue began prancing around with a bob of his head. The only thing he could think of what to do was simple: Sing.
"..And Rue know Rue get a little crazy And Rue know Rue get a little loud And Rue know Rue never gonna fake it Rue is wild Rue is free Rue are more than you think So call Rue freak But that's just the way we roll!"
Oh yes- already he could hear some audible beat and sounds in his head to accompany his lyrics. But he could have sworn that the song was a little different.
Oh well!
"Rue got moves, Rue got hoooves, Rue go dancing! Pop and lock, battle dance [battle dance] against ..."
The small colt stopped. Well he wasn't all too skilled in dancing or footwork so who could he go against? Rue giggled and clopped his hooves louder upon the ground. Trying to stay on beat and on que, the small colt hummed as some lines skipped his memory and with the only line still repeatedly strumming within his mind, the colt belted it out lound and strong.
"...CUZ THATS JUS' WAY THE RUE ROLLS!"

The wind ruffled Caelyndei's dual-toned mane like the comforting caress of a lover's warm breath. The newly-come-of-age filly was finding that the warmer months were a blessing in comparison to winter. Having been born to a world of blinding whiteness and bone-chilling cold it was, quite literally, a fresh breath of air to discover something far more appealing. Everything was so vibrant and filled with life, painted in pastels as much as shocking brightness. Surrounded by such overwhelming beauty it was easy for the young mare to forget her problems.
Apparently, even happy-go-lucky girls like Caely had problems--and to her--it seemed a unspoken requirement when growing up. If she'd known that before hand, she would have gladly opted to remain a carefree foal forever. As things were even though her body had grown healthy and strong, she certainly didn't feel like an adult. A part of her wondered if she would ever feel wiser and more worldly like many of the grown Soquili she knew.
Long tail swished against the ground, stirring up a small cloud of dust with the gentle motion. The small ornaments which decorated the thin braids mingling in the thickness jangled merrily as they tumbled with the motion and slid back into place. The sun was warm on her dark coat, scattered black continents in a sea of brown soaking in the warmth indulgently. Whispering wind made the lush grass around her legs bristle causing Caely to wonder how long her hooves had been moving while her brain attempted to wrap around the complexities of her life.
Deep in a meadow that stretched as far as jade gaze could reach a small ghostly white figure, dashed with crimson was approaching on the horizon. Extending her neck to watch the small figure near, Caely wondered what on earth the movement could be coming from. It certainly looked like a Soquili foal, but its gait was peculiar, causing white splashed muzzle to cant with the rest of her head. Whatever it was, it certainly looked happy to be bouncing around that way, causing the sugar and spice mare to smile good-naturedly.

((aaaah D: so sorry for the delay ;; <3))
Prancing in circles and figure eights while he hummed and hummed, the young yet rather large in stature colt nickered and giggled- his stubby, crimson tail wagging behind him much like a small puppies while a large, lopsided grin reached across his maw. Rue was happy! Well, Rue was always happy and lost within the confines of his own surreal, fantasy world full of games, love and pretty things. It was impossible for anyone to tear him away from such a place as reality and his perspective had been so far skewed and rooted in such a belief. And although the small colt wasn't aware that the world wasn't as 'beautiful' or 'lovely' as his imagination often portrayed it as, he never did stop smiling or laughing.
His nostrils twitched slightly as his pale, white ears flickered upwards. Familiar crimson brows arched in curiosity as he canted his head to the side. What was this? It seemed as if someone else was around! Was this a new friend to meet? Would they want to play with him? Rue giggled to himself, lowering his head with a bashful grin as he clopped his front hooves on the ground.
"Rueseessomeone-" he whispered to himself, although it was rather audible. Slowly shifting his body forwards and sneaking over towards the thick, bushes and foilage, the young colt gasped softly as he snaked about for a closer look.
It was a big thing! Er- well, an adult mare to be exact but big thing was easier to remember in the mind of the colt. Those black, obsidian orbs seemed to widen as he staggered forwards though unfortunately his stealth was a lame attempt as the young colt seemed to be stepping on twigs, leaves and running into everything imaginable to make such a ruckus! But driven by curiosity, excitement and even a small coursing wave of adrenaline, the colt stumbled over a large, braching root that rose from out of the ground and tumbled out of his 'hiding' spot. With an 'oof' and a few squeals, Rue tumbled right into the mares closest leg as his body seemed to wrap around it in an odd array. "Rue dun like bushes much," he dizzily spoke, his head nodding off in random directions as he rested his head against her leg with an uexpected and rather tired yawn.
Crimson brows knitted slightly as he focused his eyes on the thing he was slightly wrapped around. He slightly jumped when he realized that it was indeed a leg- and not a familiar one at that! His recollection of the strange big thing that he previously seen was nearly forgotten like a passing breeze as he started to get scared- his lip quivering as he squeezed his eyes shut not wanting to look upwards as confusion had already set in.
"Ezzies?" He whined, hoping that by some miracle that it was his father and perhaps just a little dirty. Exhaling slightly with a huff, the colt opened one eye and became brave enough to look upwards only to let his maw hang slightly ajar.
"You no Ezzie Daddy...." Rue commented with a slight stillness in his voice. "Who you?"
