Days seemed to lag on here, one after another. And with curious eyes around every corner watching Banda's every step, it was almost futile to try and find some place to be alone with Gurami. It wasn't that Banda was homesick, certainly not. Just the though of going back to his little plot of land and having all day and every day to himself and Gurami sounded nice. Better than nice, fantastic. Of course, the pride was nice too. Not as nice as fantastic, but still. Banda always felt so awkward, noticing the beaty eyes of cubs watching him, the cold stares of females, everything was out of whack for a male who had been free to do what he pleased his whole life. Still, a little freedom was nothing he wouldn't give to stay with Gurami. A long sigh escaped Banda, sending him to the ground with a flop. Dust rose all around him as he neatly tucked his paws under himself. With eyes always seeming to give him dirty stares, there was even more of a reason to stay tidy, neat, and regal. He nudged himself over a bit, avoiding a hot sunray as it shot down from the sun. The way it glistened on the doo of the grass reminded him so much of Gurami's pelt, everything about it. It was then Banda realized he hadn't seen his mate since they parted ways at the border a few nights ago. He was beginning to worry, but calmed himself, realizing Gurami probably went out on a hunt or was visiting with her sisters.
"She could be doing anything, no need to assume the worst" Banda murmered to himself, his eyes closing briefly as he dozed off into a light nap.

Of course, Banda wasn't half wrong, She certainly had been off visiting her sisters, well one of them any way. When she had realised that she was pregnant her first port of call had been Koi. Not that Banda was less important than her older sister, it was just the way of the pride, your reletives really needed to know the situation first, it was the way of the world after all.
Now though with a spring in her step the pale yellow lioness padded quietly, with her head held high and her tail sweeping low, she looked every inch a member of the pride, she knew how to act while eyes stared at her and gave a quick nod to each of the females she passed. She loved the pride, it was her home and had been since her birth.
The idea of birth made her smile. banda would be so surprised. Giggling a little she followed her big males scent to where he was relaxing. For a long moment she simply stood and admired her mate. He was large and handsome and his pelt was always so pritinely clean. She was so proud of him for fitting in.
Letting a gentle happy sigh escape her lips she padded up to her big mate and gave him a nuzzle before laying down close to him without a word. She was trying to figure out how to phrase what she was about to tell Banda, but for the moment she could sit and relax against his large body while she let the sharp sunlight play over her fur.

One eye peeked open, Banda's smile immediately widening. Gurami, of course. Nothing else now a days could make him smile like her. The pride just didn't seem to understand what a strong, fierce bond they had. They judged them for being in love, and Banda was utterly confused by this. He lifted his head slowly, his poofy, orange mane fluttering out. He nuzzled Gurami's cheek, hoping he hadn't disturbed her from whatever sleep she had been in.
"You were gone for some time, I got worried." Banda said, almost chuckling.
"I feel like a cub who's found a precious stone. They always are worried about what might happen to it, and always want it near them." He licked Gurami's ear before settling beside her again, noticing how the sun practically danced across her beautiful yellow coat. He closed his eyes briefly again, remembering the conversation he had had with Gurami's sister, Koi. Now, he couldn't even imagine himself possibly hurting Gurami. It seemed so distant, everything was so perfect.

Taking a deep cleansing breath the soft yellow lioness took a moment to think and find her words. "I had to go and see Koi, something important has come up." She paused for a long moment then the sun dancing over her fur and her soft lilac gaze looking rather distant.
"I hjave something important to tell you Banda." She whispers turning her eyes on him a look of almost worry crossing her features. Would Banda be angry at her? She preyed not she was already treading on thin ice loving him and she knew it.
Taking a deep breath she let the words roll off her tongue as naturally, though as quickly as she could. "I'm pregnant." There, she'd said it.

Banda stared. What else could he do? It was a joke, right? Of course it was! A light chuckle escaped, but it slowly diminished as he met Gurami's eyes.
"You mean like...cubs?" He pondering look turned into a frown quickly. Deep, purple eyes looking blanky into space. CUBS? No way, this was a bad joke. It must be!
"Ha ha. You're REAL funny Gurami..." Banda laughed, rolling his eyes. She was such a joker, right? His smile turned to a frown suddenly, a worried haze cast over his eyes.
"You are kidding, right?" He lifted his head from the ground and turned to face Gurami, completely sitting up now. This wasn't funny. It was like a bad joke! Not that Gurami wasn't funny, but this particular joke was a miss.

Gurami gave a heavy sigh and rolled her eyes. This was one of those situations where she really understood why other females treated males the way they did. They could be really silly sometimes! Shaking her head she lowered her gaze before stareing off in to the distance.
"No Banda, I'm not joking at all, we are going to have cubs and you will have to care for them." She flicked her tail in a fairly nonchalant manner turning her pale lilac gaze upon the large male. "You're happy arn't you? I'v always wanted to have children Banda, to strengthen my place int he pride, my legacy. You must be pleased." She looked at him hopefully, a very seruious look indeed for the pale yellow female.
