just practice saying the syllables tada without playing on your trumpet the more you say it the more you get used to it the better your tongue will get
for triple tonguing use the syllables tadaca

Practice makes perfect. We were playing the nutcraker suit, and we were ending with "Trepak." I downloaded it into my iPod, and tounged to it while I was watching T.V., Online, Eating Dinner, Attacking Sasquash, etc. It works if you also practice at least two hoursish every week. That's about all the practice time I get in.

Yeah, definitely practice with the syllables first. Try tu-ku and duh-guh both. Then start on the horn. Just do really really slow repetitive quarter notes with alternating tonguing. Start at Quarter = 80 and just keep at it until you feel comfortable. Move the tempo up 5 or 10 beats (depending on how patient you are!) and do more of the same. Make sure you experiment with both t-k and d-g, just to see which one feels better.
For triple, there's lots of different methods. You can do T-K-T-T-K-T/ T-K-K-T-K-K/D-G-G-D-G-G/D-G-D-D-G-D, ETC. Practice these much the same as you practiced double tonguing. Start off without the instrument, then slowly work your way up.
Good luck!

I used to have the same problem. Practice, practice, practice! Say words that start with the letter t. I used to just say the word telephone over and over again and then still saying the word, I'd put the trumpet to my mouth, hey! It works! And if it doesn't.... sorry!

Or, if you don't like nonsense sylabols, you can always use real words. We do that a lot. A quarter note is bean. Two eighth notes are taco. A triplet is taquito. A set of four eighth notes are Enchilada. I leave band and advanced voice hungry for mexican food on the days we do this. My BD and CD (Choir Director) practice a lot of the same methods.

The trick is to find sylables you feel most comfortable with...I hated 'takataka' and so I used 'dagadaga'. Also, with triple tounging, you don't have to play 'takaka' or whatever, you can put the alternate sylable where you want as long as the beat is unaccented. So basically you need to find what's most comfortable for you. Also, start out really slow! If you can play slow and have all teh tonguing even and clear (double etc as well) then you'll be brilliant once you speed it up
