THE ELECTRIC FIELD!!!
The field is completely flat; no bumps or hills can be located. Standing at the four corners and at the exact center of the field on each side are six electrical towers that stand at six feet in height. These create a static discharge across the field and in the air itself for one reason: a metal piping that outlines the edges of the field floats several feet above the towers themselves, held up by the discharge. During the battle, the piping can release lightning at random points on the field due to the amount of buildup them possess. This ensures that your pokemon stay moving during throughout the entire battle.

Aww, maaan!" Renekai complained loudly. "The electric field AGAIN?? This field is seriously stalking me." Renekai grumbled and groaned to her trainer's box. "Don't blame me when you see this, Bell," Renekai told the Pokéball that she was holding grimly. She tossed it out and Bell emerged in a flash of red light.
Bell's reaction to the field was similar to Renekai's, if not as exaggerated. Bell pulled her feathers stiffly to her body. The static was very annoying. But maybe she'd be safe if she stayed in the air... With that in mind, Bell soared up high, but she was sure to remain in her desegnated area until the battle began. She circled slowly because she couldn't hover very well.
"This time," Renekai told herself sternly. "This time..." Renekai didn't complete her sentence because she didn't want to curse herself. Renekai wasn't superstitious, but you never knew... "Let's do this!" Renekai shouted.
Bell gave a raucous cry. "This time...!"

"Hmm. Electric field... That means Flying- and Water- types are weak, but luckily not rock... So we'll have to try-" Jackie gaped as she stared across the field, to the familiar face across the stadium. Jackie felt her face turn hot as she recognized the other trainer. But it was a strange feeling - the joy of a previous victory coupled with embarrassment. Without saying one more word, she let out Ferrum. "Go and get her, Ferr." she whispered.
Ferrum stood up tall and proud, facing the Delibird on the flat, unblemished surface of the electric field. Not for long. Grinding her teeth, Ferrum pawed at the ground, waiting for her time to strike. Jackie better snap out of this weird mood, though. She thought worriedly.

Her talons itching to get started, Ferrum looked up at her trainer, who still seemed to be in a shock of some sort. Fixing her trainer with a stern glare, Ferrum waited until she reacted. Any second now.
"Ah! Sorry, sorry. I guess we're... starting!" Jackie said, shaking herself from her thoughts. There was no room for doubt anymore. Besides - she had memorized the entire handbook for trainer etiquette. There was nothing that could stop her now. "Electric, electric... Ferrum, let's try a boosted Shockwave!" she shouted, pointing at the all-too-familiar Delibird.
Finally! Ferrum fixed her opponent in her sights, and let the electricity come to her. The electric field really was strong - she could feel a tingling all throughout her body. She idly wondered whether that would give her a boost in speed, before sending out the Shockwave in all directions.

Bell screeched angrily from her place in the air. She would NOT have her feathers messed up this early in the battle! Bell dove around, blindly trying to escape the shockwave. Amazingly enough, she did. Bell crowed triumphantly at her feat.
Renekai laughed. "Now, now, Bell," she called to the Delibird. "Let's not get cocky; the fight's only begun! Anyway, let's teach them accuracy with an Aerial Ace!"
Bell's eyes searched for a vital spot. She had to admit, Ferrum was pretty well protected. But Bell has very sharp talons... A rake accross the tough Pokémon's back might work... Bell flexed her claws. Maybe... Bell took careful aim, then dove. She felt the wind whitsle by her ears, whipping at her face. It was exhilerating! Bell pulled up sharply as she reached Ferrum and dropped both feet to rake accross her back.

Jackie gritted her teeth once more. How could that Delibird have gotten away? No matter. The mistake was made. Looking from above on the platform, she saw the Delibird coming at an alarming rate. "Ferrum! Dodge Roll!" she commanded, hoping that Ferrum would have enough time.
Ferrum felt the whoosh as the Delibird swept past her, a good foot or two away from her. Getting up off the ground, she snorted. "Accuracy, eh? I guess I'll have to show you a thing or two." She reared back, and began pounding the ground with her running talons, and sparks literally flew as she raced toward the Delibird, her skull pointed straight towards Bell's wing. Ah, but you know this move, don't you? A Head Smash? Very familiar to you, I think. Ferrum thought maliciously, as she picked up speed.

Bell swiftly twisted away, once again gaining altitude.
Renekai laughed. "Not even a scratch yet! Well, let's not be too risky. If she can't reach you, she can't touch you! Ice Beam from the air!"
Bell growled. What was wrong today? Aerial Ace always hit... Bell swept herself higher in the air, then turned. There was Ferrum, her target. Bell slowly charged an Ice Beam. She had to be quick in order to hit before Ferrum could dodge... Bell stalled, still charging. Maybe she should feint. Bell flew about in the sky, her bag balanced on her back. She pretended to release her beam once or twice, but she really was just charging it more. This beam had to be worth it. Careful, careful. Aim for the eyes... Bell was at last satisfied with her beam and released it at Ferrum below her. The beam threatened to strike home in the Craindos' face.

Twisting to the left and to the right, Ferrum took on the diving Delibird. But the feint attack worked, and she was hit just on her left cheek. But no matter the pain, she wouldn't give the bird the satisfaction of Ferrum stamped around for a bit until she could clear the ice from her eye. But it still burned with the sudden freeze. Turning her one good eye to her opponent, she glared furiously.
"Shake it off Ferrum! It's time for another good Shockwave!" Jackie shouted. They had gotten worse hands in the last battle - now time for a bit of payback.
Ferrum gathered the immense amount of electrical energy around her, and focused until her eyes began to glow intensely, like they were burning suns. She turned these orbs onto the Delibird, and shot out her Shockwave, in a beam-like form, straight towards Bell.

"Straight through with Aerial Ace!"
Bell dove and dodged about the spheres, but one glanced off her side, causing her to instinctively extend her talons, which happened to be in Ferrum's face. Bell grimaced and prepared for the impact. First a face full of ice, now one of talon. Bell hoped that Ferrum didn't mind her face getting too messed up. Bell could relate to any Pokémon that was willing to keep their good looks. Still, no mercy. Bell continued, talons as extended as ever.

Ferrum ducked to the side, letting the Delibird swoop on by - but not before she had caught more than she liked of the bird's talons.
"Ferrum - you must protect your face!" If Ferrum's eyes went out, she was toast. And one was already out. It was one thing if she was against a walking pokemon, one that she could hear. But with flying pokemon, anything was game. "And try a Crunch next!"
Ferrum growled in response. It's not your face being torn apart at the moment. she thought, snarling as she took a talon away from her cheek to see it dabbed with blood. Looking up at the bird circling the sky, she watched it's movements carefully before taking action. Jackie had taught her the consequences of rashness. Using her powerful hind legs to propel herself, Ferrum scrambled on top of one of the tall electrical towers. Watching the bird circle the field lazily, she waited for it to fly close enough for a chance at a good bite. Eventually, the Delibird swung too close, and Ferrum launched, aiming straight for the thick body of the Delibird.

Bell gave a powerful downstroke and simply flew higher, watching as Ferrum missed and fell down again. Bell winced to see how bloodied Ferrum's face was. Bell couldn't help but think that that was the only pretty part of the rock Pokémon.
"Nice one, Bell! Stay in the air! Quick Attack!"
Bell dove, waving from side to side. She was a blur of color that could hardly be seen. She was at Ferrum and away again, before anyone could see what damage had been done. Not even Bell was sure where she had struck because she was going so fast.

Ferrum rolled onto the ground, a wad of feathers in her teeth. Blast! Not far enough! she spat. Looking up at the Delibird, still floating lazily in the sky, hatred and blood blurring her gaze. She followed her with her eyes, tracking the bird's every movement, even as it began it's dive. She rolled, trying to avoid the bird's attack, but her depth perception was not what it usually was. She was too slow to move as the bird hit her full-on into her side.
Jackie bit her lip. What was throwing Ferrum off today? "Snap out of it, Ferr! You can do it!" Bell had obviously brought her A-game today. "Let's try a favorite - Earthquake!" Jackie fought to keep her voice from shaking as she saw the terrible gash on Ferrum's side.
Ferrum crouched low to the ground, her nose brushing the smooth surface of the field... well, not smooth for long. Feeling the solid dirt far beneath the field, she stood up in a sudden movement, bringing solid chunks of earth through the field with her. The rock was spewed into the air with the pure force of Ferrum's fury.

"Earthquake? Ha! That can't touch Bell!" Renekai scoffed, but she was sadly mistaken.
Bell dodged about, but a large chunk of rock hit her head on. The Delibird was knocked to the ground, temporarily dazed. Electricity was released on the rock, reminding Bell of the danger. She gathered herself quickly and burst into the air again. Bell was badly briused and cut, but other than a few missing feathers she was fine. Nothing was broken.
Renekai clenched her fists. "Giver her an Ice Beam!"
Bell reared up into the air, head back. In a moment, she had a large Ice Beam ready. Bell's cold rage showed brightly in the ball of ice. With a screech, Bell blindly shot it at Ferrum. Oh, the fury! How dare Ferrum throw rocks at her beauty!
