Moving along at a jaunty trot, Imrikalto headed toward the river. It had been several days since he was in the area, and he longed for a refreshing swim. The rushing of waters ahead made his ears perk, his stride quicken. Without any thought, he cantered out of the woods and leapt straight in, shouting as he always had in his foalhood. "YAHOO!" SPLASH! Luckily the river was rather deep here, and for a moment the dark stallion was completely submerged. He resurfaced noisily, snorting and laughing, and swam to a slightly shallower section of the river, content to just stand in the rush.

Swafi Jr's ears flicked, his head canting to one side at the sudden rush of noise from the river before him. He hurried forwards, just in time to see the charcoal grey stallion launch himself into the water with a shout, just like a headlong colt. He grinned as the stallion disappeared completely from view; 'Took him by surprise?' he mused outloud whilst the other was underwater and therefore wasn't able to hear.
'Cold enough for ya?' he quipped as the stallion dripped its way into the shallows. He flicked his own lightly curled tail and appraised the other male in a steady 'are you a rival or a possible friend' kind of way.

Swimming in a lazy circle before reaching water he could stand in without drowinging, Imrikalto shook his forelock from his eyes and cast his gaze about in search of who had spoken. A stallion -apparently around his age- stood on the bank, looking quite amused. The markings vaguely reminded him of someone his sire had spoken of -or perhaps Tashika?- but for the life of him he couldn't remember who. With a shrug he grinned at the newcommer. "Cold? Aye, it is that! But refreshing just the same." He smiled widely, easily. Imri was a happy soul. "Care to join me, Friend?" His invitation was casual, his manner light. Imri was always happy to make a new acquaintence.

Swafi Jr shook his head. He wasn't quite so at home with water as his mother, Dory, was and besides it was really the wrong time of year to be diving into running water of any kind. 'It couldn't have been melted that long ago,' he replied. 'I value my legs, I'm surprised yours didn't cramp from diving in so quickly.'
There was no sense of recognition with Swafi of Imrikalto. The stallion had gone wandering at a fairly early age, almost as soon as he'd grown out of colthood, and as a consequence knew very few Soquili. He was eager to change that however now that he was back in his birthlands as he was bright, friendly fellow.

"Long enough." Imri replied, swimming another lazy circle and then heading for shallower water. Carefully he worked his way to the bank, moving away far enough so that when he shook, he didn't soak his new companion. "Well met, I'm Imrikalto, son of Sibalto. And you?" He tilted his head in question, smiling.

'If you say so..' Swafi Jr didn't feeling like pushing the point, but neither was he going to be drawn into going in the water. The sea when it was warm, and only to please his mother, but that was about the extent of it.
'Swafi Jr,' he replied. 'Named after my father, my mother is called Dory.' he replied, still sizing the other up. He wasn't good at the whole 'meet and greet' thing, even less so when it was a mare. He was guessing that Sibalto was Imrikalto's sire. He wondered if the stallion's parents had a solid relationship. Because of what had happened between his mother and father, Swafi Jr wasn't even sure how he felt about his father, let alone know if that it was something he would end up doing.

Imri bobbed his head slightly. "My sire and the two-legger we live with knows of your dam, Dory... My mother is called Firefly, she and my sister Dafina live with their own two-legger..." He paused, eyeing the stallion. "It is nice to meet you Swafi Jr... Do you, have a two-legger too?" He flicked his ears, catching sound of a rustling in the brush... Oh no, he so didn't need this now....

'Really? I am afraid that she has never mentioned either your sire nor the two-legger.' Swafi Jr smiled apologetically. 'I am afraid my mother has a rather bad memory, she would not likely not remember them if I told her I had met Imrikalto's son.'
He nodded his head, the waves of his mane stirring as he did so. His own ears pricked at the new sounds as he replied to the other; 'Only through my mother, I don't spend much time near the Village though.'

((Gonna have Imri's familiar slip in... <3))

Imri smiled. "Father just mentioned it during my foalhood... He is rather proud of the friends he's made here... It has become more of a home to him than his old land..." He nodded at the mention of the village. Imri himself had never been there, he kept to the outskirts of Kiwani civilization, like his two-legger. Tashika was afraid of the others... She was too different... The two friends she had -her Shaman teacher and another outcast Kiwani- lived far from the village... Made her feel welcome. "What is the village like?" He asked curiously.
"Lord Imri you better not even think it!" Akaria snapped. The starry-sky colored fox came bounding into the clearing, eyeing her errant charge. "You autta be ashamed of yourself, dissappearing without letting anyone else know!"
Smiling at the fox who acted as a mother hen and looked like his beloved lady, Imri shrugged. "Swafi, Akaria... Akaria, my friend Swafi..."

'It's okay, the two-leggers seem nice enough. Like I said, I don't go there all too much. Just sort of in passing on the way to visiting my mother. Or sometimes when she's wound up there after losing her way.' he admitted.
Swafi Jr's ears pricked, picking up the sound of the approaching creature just before it popped into view. He gave a polite bow to the vixen. 'Pleased to meet you.'
Your mother? he mouthed as he looked at Imrikalto and gave him an amused look.

"Seems like it would be an interesting place to visit..." Imri mused more to himself than anyone.
"A pleasure to meet you, Lord Swafi." Akaria murmured with a sharp nod and a switch of her tail. She pegged Imri with a silver eye. "In no time Lady Athena and the lads will be needing you... Don't you be running off to the village..."
"A cross between her and my wife..." He replied in a low murmur, smiling charmingly. "Of course I wouldn't run off Akaria... I'm just enjoying the company of a new friend, nothing more... Do not worry so."

Swafi Jr didn't quite catch the stallion's words, so he nodded out of politeness.
'And you..Lady Akaria.' he wasn't sure if that was the correct way to address the vixen, but he also didn't want to get on her bad side and risk a nipped ankle! He remembered that his mother's friend, another vixen called Squishy could be quite sharp tongued.
'Yup, just standing here chatting about - stuff..' he finished lamely, trying to give the vixen a charming smile. 'You're mated then?' he asked, addressing Imri once more.

Akaria was easily charmed, and grinned at him. "Oh just Akaria please, Good Sir... I'm pleased you and my lord are getting along well..."
Imrikalto laughed softly, then nodded. "I am... To an alicorn mare named Athena... We have two foals, both boys, Kato and Ashrialto... With them I have come to know more joy than I ever thought possible..." He tilted his head, ears flicking back and forth. "And you? Do you have a loved one? A family?"

'Akaria then,' Swafi Jr smiled at the fox, pleased he'd managed to easily get into her good graces. He nodded; 'Yup, I think we're getting on as well as two stallions might ever do. Don't think I'll be braiding his mane though..' he attempted a joke, aware that he wasn't terribly good at it.
'You're very lucky then, I have really no one but my mother, or she has me, I take care of her because of her memory problems.' Swafi Jr wasn't very brave with other mares simply because he'd not met any!

"I'd rather you didn't, if you don't mind." Akaria said slyly. "It would be awfully difficult to explain to his mate, if you catch my meaning..."
Imri had to shake his head a bit as he watched the she-fox beam at Swafi Jr. Akaria played tough, but she was sweet to anyone who showed her kindness. And her patience seemed limitless. "Thanks ever so much Akaria." He muttered dryly, though a smile was clear on his muzzle. "Thank you Swafi Jr... I feel I am most fortunate. And it is a kind thing for you to do, to watch over your mother... My best friend requires some babysitting as well, thankfully he is now mated, so he is her problem!" He rumbled a laugh. "But if you ever have need, my two-legger is training to become a Shaman with Foalen's help, so we will do all we can to aid you." Imri's nature was to show others kindness, it was perhaps what had brought Akaria to him.
