At a competition this past marching season, I got so into the music that I completely blanked out on the next set. All of a sudden, I didn't know where I was and I had to march double time to get back to the right spot! It was horrible! gonk
It was probably my worst Marching mistake.

Mine wasn't really my fault, my alternate was too close to me and she didn't know where she was going, and we mad ea direction change, backwards, and I ran over her, fell down, and made the pic next to me fall too. 3 flute pile-up.
then there was this time that someone ran over a french horn player in the diamond cutter. his bell was flat. and he was bleeding from his head, (munford marching band is DANGEROUS! >:3) and all the BD cared about was his horn. xp

I put two of my flags in the wrong spot at a competition and had to march about half of the show without them. I was fairly embarressed

Forgetting half my solo ... auuuuuuugh.
Though not as bad as the bass-drummer who fell over mid show. But, er, we ended up getting sweepstakes for that one (yahyah!).

well, football is a great time of year...and so is that marching band season. Our team was playin our rivals and we were on t.v....i mean like fox sports...YEAH... you know those things like, oh someone is gonna fall or mess up... Well, it was the set before last and i had to do a round about thing...i had to back march to one place, completely turn around to backmarch to the final set... well knowing this... when i started my second backmarch, my knee gave out on me, falling on tv, and then had to march the show after the game D=

I once was hit in the back of the head with a rifle during our first competition of the season. Thankfully, it didn't knock any of my teeth out, but it did cut my lip pretty badly. I couldn't wipe it off with my hand because we wore white gloves.

well, at the second be fore last competition, one of the color guard girls hit my plume with her little flaggy thing, and i couldn't see for most of the show..
my hat was diagnal on my face [seeing as how i didn't dare to fix it.. those points are precious! D:], and mostly covered where our drum majors were. so what i mainly did to not screw up was i watched the people around me, and did my best to follow the drum major when i could.

of course, i don't blame the flag, color guard girl, or myself. i just figured that it helped me in.. some.. weird way. xD

ok. so my first year at band camp. I fell......every.single. time. we went through this one set. I've gotten better since then though. Then last season there was one game where I completely all together mistook one person for another and pretty much shoved them out of their setr without noticing untill they were right next to me. It looked sooo bad on camera. those were the embarrasing ones.
a funny one. we were having a practice run through. The BD had made us do this one coreography(sp?) move over and over and over to make sure we did it right and threatened anyone's life who messed up. I got to my set and forgot for a second that we had to spread open our legs and do a super horn pop. (it was the finale of the show too) but it was only a delayed reaction. I cought on fast enough to fix it. And I pretty much slowly eased my legs apart while doing the horn pop to make it look like I meant to do it the way I did. (what every good marching band member should know is #1 your always wrong. fix yourself and #2 you meant to do EVERY SINGLE thing you do. There's no such thing as a mistake) So anyway. I did a good job making it unnoticable and wasn't ebarrased. Then my BD yelled from the top of the stands "I saw that meghan don't think you got away with it!...nice try at covering it up though." I wanted to die. especially since we had had it drilled into our minds and had no excuse for forgetting it....

oh. another one. we were actually at a competition for this one. Yet another finale horn pop. I play french horn and I had to somehow manage to get the edge of my horn pointing abouve the box. Well....I did it. But my shako (hat) fell off. It is forever know as a "french horn pop" in my band. =/

i'd have to say my most embarrasing moment was when started playing the wrong song and was in the wrong spot. well i should let you know that my band has 2 shows consiting of 4 songs each and it was a home but started playing the away...and felt like an idiot but noone noticed my playing...and the spot thankfully the girl who was sopposed to be there had gotten really uber sick and so when we changed song formations i just went to the right spot...but man i had my section leader laughing his butt off the entire way home...i should mention i play the berri sax and being 5 and 1/4 i catch eyes so a berri in the wrong place is noticeable..but my BD didn't..but anywho waht are the rest of yours?

Mine was... A rather shaky set to begin with. We had to backwards march to the next set and I had to move between two trombones. Now, the trombones were at a hold and the section leader had just incorporated a dance into their hold. Timing was just... BAD and I ended up getting smacked in the face with a trombone. >.< Needless to say, the trombone dance got taken out.

There was one other incident... that wasn't exactly show related, but it happened during marching rehearsal.
My piccolo had to be taken to the repair shop (someone sat on it and cracked the head joint - it's made out of resin) so I was borrowing the school's picc. Anyway, so it's the end of practice and I'm taking apart my instrument and the damn head joint is STUCK. I had some key oil I used to try and loosen it, but it didn't work. Dammit. So I had someone help me pull it. Again, it didn't work. Finally, I pulled one last time, and the head joint popped off... along with the silver plate which connects the two pieces together... sweatdrop
I looked sheepishly at my band director, pointed at my section leader, and said, "She did it!" I am forever known as the piccolo-breaker. It was... a bad week.
