But I've never had one before, never even used one before. So my question is when shopping for a tablet what are some features, minimums that I should take into consideration? Have you heard any good/bad things about specific brands or models? Any other reccomendations?
Like if I was going to get a camera I'd be looking at how much of a zoom it has, what kind of memory card and batteries it uses, features like changeable lenses, ect....

Sadly I don't have enough skills to use something like that, it would just be another toy that sat around.

I got one last Christmas. Stupid antivirus doesn't let me install the drivers properly, though. I'm definitely getting a new antivirus.
Mine's a WACOM Graphire 4 x 5 in. tablet. I asked around in several forums and Yahoo answers and they highly recomended Wacom. I tried it in my mom's PC and it has great pressure sensitivity, though I still have to get used to looking at the screen while I draw sweatdrop
I think they could probably give you a lot of help in the Art Forum. They have a tutorial about it (I think...)

Wacom is a name I've heard alot on deviant art too. I havn't looked in the art forums yet though I plan too. My birthdays not till the end of April so I've got plenty of time. Luckily I'm already used to working while looking at the screen since I do art with a mouse. It's mainly the pressure sensitivity thing that's got me interested in a tablet. I see alot of art with little details to the shading and line that seem like they'd be easier to do with a tablet.

They're not very expensive, so that's another plus. Well, at least the starter tablets aren't that expensive. The really professional tablets are $2000+ xp
April's a great month for Birthdays mrgreen

I'm looking for something around a $100-$150 range most likely. I looked around the resources links in the art forums yesterday. They really didn't help me any unfortunetly. xp
