Wind had been drifting around for a time, as she knew that she would be grounded for a while, quite soon. She had an obligation to fill, and she knew that it was the right thing, but it was always unsettling to think that you might be pinned in a small location for a time. And though mortal's lives seemed to run short compaired to hers, that shackled feeling would still be there.

Today she had wandered towards the Pridelands, a land that she rarely visited. It flourished with all sorts of life, and she as a god sometimes felt like she was intruding on their happiness. But curiosity was a feline's poison, and she couldn't help but keep herself away today.

She rarely hid her wings, not ashamed at the fact that she was a god. She did not do it to draw attention to her, though, no; not that kind of attention. If she could be of help to mortals, she wanted them to approach her. Though she was wind, and rarely stayed in the same spot for long, she would still do her best to help all that she saw. Besides, wasn't that an obligation of the gods to mortals?

His secret location, a place he tried to keep secret from everyone else, even his friends and family did not know about it. It was not too far from his den, in fact, it was just a ways toward his father's den. A sea of tall grass, tall, leaveless trees littered the sea of green. In the midst of it all was an underground burrow, likely only see from the sky above. Down below was two chambers, one of rocks another used for sleeping, he supposed. It wasn't his. Under the rocks was where he kept his treasures, it wasn't the most respectful place, but it kept them hidden.

He looked down onto the row of feathers that he had collected.

A gorgeous feather from the Goddess of Souls for helping her find Uncle Ezeoha.

A beautiful feather from the first Goddess he had met, the Goddess of the Lost.

Beside it was a fluffy feather adorned with a dull gem from the Goddess of the Earth's Womb.

The one he found interesting was the dazzling feather of the Goddess of Lightning, sometimes he could feel his fur stand on end when he neared...

And beside that was the last of his collection, two feathers from the young Goddess of Tornadoes. It wasn't one asked, they just fell from her wings from their play wrestling. It was the only one in his collection that he had two of and he didn't plan to part with them.

These feathers were what he strove to find. Gods were the one who will keep him alive with their blessings. They were the ones who will protect him. They were teh ones who would give him strength.

At least that was what he thought.

Mana felt the wind whirl around her impatiently. The goddess' long mane twirled around her as she scanned the lands with her emerald eyes. It was a quiet late morning, and she figured that it was a lazy day for the lions, perhaps something of a day off. Even so, though, with a day off, she would figure to see more of the younger members of the pride roaming around, getting into whatever trouble they certainly loved to get into.

She took small steps through the savannah grasses, the pleaseant green colour a nice change from some of the more earth-coloured grasses that other lands had. Always full of life, and full of energy.

Mana folded her longs wings to her sides, the long wings still dragging a bit on the ground. The ribbons along her legs constantly swayed to a breeze that wasn't always there, her back glimmering in the sun, as the ray's seemed to dance across her back.

She sighed. Perhaps it was too quiet, not enough to enjoy here. She would soon leave, then, though she knew that the sooner she left, the sooner she would be grounded for a while. But she never went back on her word, especially when it meant so much to the other party of the deal.

Zeki's eyes glanced around his paws to see the dirt shift slightly as a draft wafted down into the burrow. Quickly placing the rocks back in their usual makeshift manner, he popped his head outside. Nothing but tall grass, but it seemed like a gust of wind just blew past or lingered here. Curious, he exited completely and looked out into the green sea.

Crimson eyes locked upon the pastel yellow colored object. Strange... what was it? Curiosity got the better of him, ducking low, he stalked into the grass toward the figure.

The only other time he had felt wind being drawn from him was by Elly, her tornadoes demanded it, sucked the wind from their flow and whipped them around like dirt in its vortex. Looking around, nothing like a tornado around here so it could not have been his friend.

Getting closer, he popped his head up again.

Either he was lucky or this was another sign. A Goddess. Trying not to startle her, he greeted himself.

"Good Morning, Milady Goddess, what brings such an elegant divine to visit the Pride Lands?"

An eyebrow cocked, the lioness had only just noticed the mortal before her once he had spoken. Oh? She must be loosing her touch. That, or she was merely caught up in the beauty of the Pridelands. She bowed her head, though not too deeply, in greeting, her mane slipping towards her head before back towards her shoulder, following the movements of her neck.

"Oh, well, hello there." she replied, unsure as exactly what to assume of him. She wasn't sure if he was an actual member of the pride, so she would skirt around the issue until she would be able to know for a fact. "Much too polite, though. Simply calling me Mana would do wonders, for my name is far too long to use in a casual sense," she teased. She would accept the other gods calling her Wind, but the name the mortals had given her was much too long, and a handful. Especially for cubs!

"My, the first to give her name before having I ask for it," Zeki gave a soft laugh. In retrospect, not many have actually offered to give their names unless he asked. It was rather awkward to have Mana give her name before he telling his and then asking her. Must have gotten used to it, one would suppose. Zeki dipped his head low in respect, "My name is Ezekiel, Zeki if you don't mind."

He looked at her. The way the wind was pulled toward her and yet no tornado, he could believe that she was related to Elly . . . But that was perhaps unlikely as he had no idea how Gods had their relations, but it was possible. When he had last spoken to Elly, her tornado sucked the wind around him, pulling him. Here, wind just seemed to shift...

"Would it be safe to assume you are the Goddess of Wind or Air? It was the sudden tug of the air around me while I was passing that made me come to you," he paused. "If you don't mind me asking of course!"

The goddess laughed. She couldn't help it, since the way he was acting. Smooth, yet obviously a bit taken aback. Well, that was fine with her. He seemed nice enough, and she could deal with any mortal as long as there was mutual respect between them.

She sat herself down, letting herself relax. She felt her ribbons shift around her, much more smoothly now. Every once in a while they would kick up, but it would be hard to notice since they swayed on a breeze that did not exist.

"The first?" she teased, a grin appearing on her face. "Aaah, so I should guess that you, Zeki, are one that is favoured by the gods, then? Perhaps that was why I was pulled here. I go where the winds go, and where they stop, I end up. There is always a reason, whether it be good or bad, that I end up somewhere."

She nodded, "and yes, I am Wind. The breezes around me must spoil the surprise, hmm? Sometimes I have my bird children with me, but I fear they are away on their own journeys for a time."

"Favored by the Gods? As much as I believe my name to be true and my encounters with the others were coincidental I mean, perhaps it is and perhaps it isn't. What could possibly make me more special than everyone else?" He smiled at her. "But I'll take it a compliment never the less because it seems like it was I who have called you here without even knowing it. Smarter than I know, I suppose?" Zeki grinned, looking into the sky, it seems liek he was right, she was the Goddess of Wind. It was until her last words did he snap his head back to her.

"Bird Children?" he questioned. Either this meant she had little avians following her like sparrows or hawks, or that she had her own children! He mused to himself and blurted out a vague question.

"Are they mortal, Mana?"

"Oh? Well, I must admit, it is rare that I meet a mortal that has met any other gods. It seems the ones that have, have not met the ones with best intentions, I must admit. So that is what I meant by my comment." She smiled, taking a pause to her reply. She shifted her wings to rest a little more comfortably, but because they were so long, they still sprawled behind her in a wavy fashion.

She laughed as he blurted out the question. "I guess you could consider some of them mortals. But they are simply birds, nothing more. All children I have had are passed on, as I outlive them all." She waved her paw. "Sad, in a way, but they lived full lives, and for that I am pleased. I simply have two birds that have been with me for a long time, is all. They are on their own, doing what they want. Though some would consider them my servants, they are nothing but friends who come in and out of my long life."

"Well, I have met two that were ill to me. The Goddess of the Desert scolded me for trespassing upon her desert when I was nowhere near, but as a cub, I could do nothing but obey. The Goddess of Earth's Womb was rather nice until I had asked her for a feather, politely I may add, I suppose many are not willing to part with their own beings, if you'd consider a feather that," he sighed softly, not out of sadness, just looking back into himself. He shifted his paws so he looked respectful and a bit more comfortable.

"So these birds are avians? The little creatures with beaks and their song that fill the day? Oh that would be amazing to have, little birds to sing for you and others. But I could only imagine what one such as yourself would have for a use for them. As servants aren't what I see them as, more like friends," He chuckled and looked a bit more serious, seriously curious.

"Is it hard... to lose them?"

Hmm. There always were some gods that seemed to think that they were better then mortals. And in some ways, that was true. But if you did not give any respect to mortals, they would not give any to you. And then what was the point? Mana believed that there were gods to help mortals, and all should help. It was hard to justify why there were 'bad' gods, but that was something that she had no answer for, and would never have an answer for.

"A feather can be considered an extension of ourselves, but it merely matters the power that the feather has," she explained. "For some of us, they do have powers. For others, they are merely feathers. I believe it matters from God to God."

She laughed lightly, humored at him, but pleased. "Of course they're the birds you see everywhere. I use some as messengers. A specific pair, actually. The rest just dance along my winds, and call me their Mother Wind. They wouldn't be able to do much without the wind to fill their wings now, could they?"

She let her tail flop along her side, still content. "But to lose them? I guess you could say that it is, but it is part of mortal life. Everything dies in some time in its life. I guess it becomes...easier to handle, but it is still something that brings sadness with it."

"An extension of oneself, still a part of them. While some have powers and others do not. Actually, of the feathers I have, I do not believe many have any powers... To me, however, I see them more of a blessing from the Goddess or God who gave it to me and so I cherish it," he went florid a little, chuckling. "They protect me and give me faith to continue to do as I am. To strive for the better, to be the mortal that they desire most to be. Kind, helpful . . . a friend."

Zeki smiled and looked up into the sky, catching a pair gliding over head.

"So I guess it is the wind that keeps things up in the sky," Turning back to her, he questioned a little, out of curiosity. "So are you the one who teaches birds to fly?"

And another that tickled his mind.

"And by chance, do you know a girl named Elly?"

Vague.

Mana was surprised just how much this Zeki cared about the feathers he had gathered. Really, most would just think of them as feathers, especially if he didn't believe that they had any powers. Then why did he cling to them? Sure, she heard him speak as to why, but it still seemed a bit strange to her. She wouldn' question his ways, though. If that was what he wanted to do, well, then he should do it.

"You could say that," she nodded. "Though I wouldn't say I teach birds to fly. Their own parents do. I just try my best to keep them in their air, since it is how they survive in the world."

An ear twitched. "Elly? I'm afraid I don't, Zeki." She had no idea if it was a god or mortal he asked about, and if he wanted to keep her guessing, well, she wouldn't guess. She would just tell him what she knew.

He thought back to the collection he had gathered up from the Goddesses he had met and what more, he still continued to meet them. Something about them was so alluring that it was not easy to look the other way. By now, meeting so many, he sees them almost like an everyday occurrence.

"I see," he replied. So she leaves the parents to teach their offspring to do what they need to. That was how he and his father was when he was taught how to hunt and stuff. Perhaps it was better not to rob the parents of their parental duties such as teaching their own kin.

Her reply to his question baffled him. He was almost sure that she might have known! Then again, talking with Teuli, he was unsure if she even knew if there was a God of storms that dictated how heavy a storm was to be. Perhaps she didn't either. A last try perhaps.

"I was sure of it since you and she had such similar abilities. When I was near her, her tornadoes would be forcefully sucked away from me. When I found you, the wind just came in your direction. Perhaps I was mistaken..."

Her ears perked forward. "Oh? Tornados?" She thought about it for a moment, letting her mind roll around that idea as well.

"Well, I actually haven't come across another god in quite a while. That could fuel the reason as to why I don't recognize her name. The last one I've spoken to was Earth, and that was many, many generations go as far as mortal time." She let her tail swish behind her for a moment, still thinking.

"Interesting, though, that I haven't been pulled to her to meet her, especially if she had control over tornados. Similar to wind, but not, either."

The goddess stared at nothing for a moment as her words tumbled out before shaking her head.

"I apologize for rambling, it's just not often I meet a soul who knows so many other gods, more than myself!"
