The goddess' mountain stood tall, its tip billowing smoke and steam that dissipated into the atmosphere. It had been a century since last it stirred like this, and the only reason it did so now was because it's mistress had returned to the waking world.
In the bowels of the mountain, Sanaa panted over the white hot metal she held in one paw, pounding it into shape with the other. She heated it over an open vent, a red glow cast on her features from the raw lava that flowed through it. When away from her mountain, she could heat the metal with her breath, but when at home she prefered this method, since she didn't have to work so hard and the heat was more even.
When the bit of metal met her satisfaction, she turned to the stream that poured down through a fissure in the rock, quenching the metal in a hiss of steam. A smile lit her face as she pulled it free, turning it over to make sure it hadn't cracked or warped. Too soon, she'd have to return to the surface world for more supplies... such was the way of things. She couldn't work indefinitely, not when she kept running out of the things she needed. What a bother.

Katana'k snarled to himself as he lay on hte ground, glaring around at nothing in particular, under the shade of a lone cicada tree, relieving him from the sun's heat. His eyes were sensitive today, from going from a lone cavern into the sun, especial with the glint from his armor to watch for. It usually did not bother him, but today it did just a tad, but he'd get over it. He was pride, he did not fall back from obstacles in his way.
Flicking his tail his eyes traveled to a stream of blackness that rose into the atmosphere, strange things that were in this world, but he had never seen such a thing before.
Though he was curious.
What could dwell there?

When the goddess had made sure the metal was shaped to her liking, she tossed it into a pile of such pieces on a scrap of animal hide and picked up the corners in her mouth. The whole bundle bumped against her chest as she carried it up into the upper cave, the one that served as her work and living area. A smaller cave branched off this one, forming a place for her to store raw material out of the way till she needed it. Great vaises of hardened and sealed clay held water, since the nearest source was in the lava cavern, and that tasted bitterly of sulfer.
Going to one and dropping her bundle beside it with a clatter, Sanaa sighed as she saw how low the level had dropped. With no followers to fill it, she seemed to be constantly having to make the long trip to the nearest watering hole. What a bother... she'd have to do that later. Picking up her bundle again, she moved to the long, low shelf she'd cut out of the rock to serve as a workbench, dumping the twisted and hammered bits of metal out onto it.
The great golden body reclined back, many wings neatly folded, as Sanaa began to look over the pieces, using her diamond-hard claws to cut or trim the metal here and there, shaping the pieces better into what she had planned for them.

Curiosity grabbed the best of him, and he unfolded his large midnight wings and took to the sky, eyes focused on hte black thickness streaming into the upper sky, he put his forearms out a bit, the demonic like wings on his forearms out stretching, keeping him better balanced as he graced the sky higher and higher where the wings were stronger and harder to maintain a serene flight for a time. He glided down, and stopped near the base of the mountain, watching with intrigue as the blackness still flowed.
What caused such black chaos?
The air was thick with a stench he was not used to, and his armor clanged as he started his climb.
Curiosity caught the god.

As was her wont, Sanaa mumbled to herself as she worked, commenting on the piece she happened to hold and the possible uses for it. That bit would make a fine pendant for a necklace, that one could be bent and wrapped to make a bracelet... this one would make a nice earring, and that one... that one was perfect for a knife, with a little sharpening. She could even shape it a little more to make an artificial claw, such as could be attached to straps and a creature's paw for a weapon.
All in all rather pleased with herself, the goddess called a break and went to the water jars, dunking her head in one of them and tossing back the bit of bangs she hand, gasping at the refreshing feeling of the water before she bent to lap some up and sooth her throat. She couldn't be killed by lack of food or water, but it was more comfortable to fulfill the need for them like a mortal would.

His white orbs fell on a path in the hardened molten rock, and he settled himself in a spot once close enough, looked at the path, how it was almost unseeable to the untrained eye, to those who didn't know how tot rack or hunt efficiently. Flicking his tail the massive blackness moved along the path, eyes falling on an opening like a mouth gaping, gasping for breath while smoke heaved its way out of the volcanic throat.
A paw stepping in, pride in himself, strength, spirit, it burst his courage level, as he stepped inside, eyes searching, pride was here, in creation, "One who holds ride dwells here..." he said lowly, but loud enough to hear for whoever dwelled in such a place, his eyes wished to grace the form.

The golden ears of the goddess in the bowels of the cavern flicked, twitching at the sound of a voice in the entrance. Sanaa turned with a frown to catch sight of a dark silouette against the light of day outside, her wings rustling as she rose to pad towards whoever it was that had sought her out.
"Who enters my cavern?" She called out as she trotted towards the light, her many adornments jingling with her movements. Every fourth slap of paw to stone was another c***k of metal, heavier this time and more forceful. Another of Sanaa's quirks, if one knew her.
"Identify yourself!" She called again, frowning up at the figure.

"No threat to yourself comes here I assure you," he spoke down, glowing white eyes trying to search the darkness to pick out the details of the moving form. The voice was female, that much was eminent, flicking his tial and bringing his wings to rest against his back (in an attempt to look less threatening, smaller) he took a couple steps sideways, eyes still searching.
"I am of Pride, what one dwells so deep under the surface in a place like this?" he questioned, wondering what type of soul would nearly bury themselves away from the light of day, though, he knew, some rather liked it being that way, to say away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life in different areas of the earth.

Sanaa emerged from the darkness in a flash and glitter, the sun striking off the metal and precious stones that hung all over her person. Bottle green eyes brinked to accustom themselves to the light before turning to what seemed to be another god, all in black save for his silver armour.
"Pride?" She said softly as she narrowed her eyes, her own tri-wings rustling against her back, opening a little before settling closed again. "It seems I've attracted a lot of divine attention lately." She quipped as she stepped out farther onto the ledge before her cavern. Feeling a little relaxed now that she knew who visited her, she stretched in the sun to the pop of joints and tinkle of ornaments.
"I'm Sanaa." She said as she straightened back up, tossing her head lightly. "Goddess of Crafting. And you are, God of Pride?" He struck her as familiar, or atleast, his armour did. The goddess might not have much knack for faces, but she -never- forgot a piece of jewlry or armour.

"Your name sounds so familiar," though how long would it have been since he came across an old face? he was not good with names, or faces for that matter accept for the face of his brother he still wished to find. "Crafting sounds like an interesting name, no doubt you could create something beautiful yet strong such as the armor I wear," thoughts carried through his mind though.
Had his brother come this way, asking her fr armor like his to protect his foul being?
"Saana, I don't mean to pester, though has another god, one of reflection, come this way, asking for armor such as mine, for protection?" no doubt his words would sound strange, but he needed to know.

The goddess ruffled her wings as she eyed him and his armour.
"I do make armour such as you wear and have many times for others of our kindred." She blinked gently as he mentioned his brother, a god of Reflection, but it struck no chord in her, no memory stored away in the twisting paths of her mind.
"I do not recall making armour for the god you speak of, though perhaps I have just forgot his look. I can assure you, though, I've not had the chance to make any items such as that for any of my brethren since I woke from my long seclusion."
The golden female wondered briefly why he would ask her something like that. Was he one of the many gods that held a deep hatred for their siblings? She couldn't comment on that, but at least she held no hatred for her sister, just a deep annoyance and rough sort of affection. She wondered what had become of Fikisha, but there was little she could do about it now.
