This doesn't relate to abortion nor women's rights, but I'm very curious about this. If this needs to be moved, then I'm sorry I put it in the wrong place. sweatdrop

I've been wondering what PCG's other opinions on different matters. It'd be interesting to to see our neighbor PLG, too, wouldn't it?

Anyway...

Gay Marriage?
Marijuana Legalization?
War?
Universal Health Care?
Abortion? I mean...oh wait. O;

Anything else you can think of. xP

As for me:
Gay Marriage - I'm in complete support
Marijuana - support
War - against
Universal Health care - support

War - Against it. Why the hell are we currrently in Iraq? Sadam is out. Osama is probably dead or in a cave somewhere. Revenge? We need to get the hell out. Terrorists? We just need to get out.
Universal Health care - I am in total support of it.

Gay Marriage - For. There is no logical reason to be against gay marriage - in fact, no real reason at all =/

Marijuana Legalization - Kind of on the fence. I am against the whole "War on Drugs" concept as while meth labs should be shut down and cocaine smuggling stopped, throwing people in jail for having a tiny bit of marijuana on them is overkill and a waste of prison space, as well as court time. That space and time should be put toward finding, prosecuting and incaracerating more violent or dangerous criminals. At least decriminalize possession unless trafficking is evident.

War - Get the ******** out of Iraq. There was never a link between Saddam Hussein and al-Quaeda. Put more troops in Afghanistan and get more work done on finding Osama (but do not torture, please! Geneva Convention!) and do more productive things with all the defense spending - such as ACTUALLY upgrading the education system.

Universal Health Care - Implement it, NOW. I'm in Canada and it works well here, but all the rich idiots who hate paying taxes don't want another hike really. There is no reason why we should not all be entitled to free healthcare, especially when many people cannot afford even simple procedures - some can't even afford a trip to the doctor if they're sick! Insurance companies have the people in the US literally by their throat with all the power they're given, and even go to lengths as to deny women coverage for birth control (while covering VIAGRA...) and abortions. Universal healthcare is a must, as healthcare is a right, not a privilege.

Gay Marriage? In total support of. It's ridiculous that this is even an issue, especially in this day and age.

Marijuana Legalization? Setar summed it up better than I could.

War? A waste of time and lives.

Universal Health Care? I mostly support it.

I'm noticing a trend here. ;P

Gay Marriage? Do you REALLY wanna hear about the lesbian jungle fever? No? Then if it's legal, it doesn't have to be broadcast to the world, does it?

Marijuana Legalization? Yes. I am a user, and possibly an MS-sufferer, and use it to make life easier for me to live. However, it's one of the FEW drugs I really find it viable to legalize, along with mushrooms (like you can really get rid of that), and acid, because most people stop once they grow out of the bad trips.

War? Pointless. Am I the only one who suddenly stopped one day and said "Wait. Weren't we just in Afghanistan?" I find this a scapegoat, or possibly Bush's ADD.

Universal Health Care? Mostly support it, I say take it out of our sales tax, like Canada-land.

War: Get the ******** out of there! WORST. DECISION. EVER.

I'll throw this one out there: prostitution! And euthanasia!

In favour of safe, legal prostitution and drugs.

Pro-gay marriage.
Pro-euthanasia.
Anti-war. For reasons already stated better than I could put it.
UHC - got it already : D

However, UK-land is shooting itself in the foot. Our healthcare's going downhill, we're involved in the war, they want tighter restrictions on drugs and prostitution, euthanasia is illegal. So the only thing we're good for is gay marriage, and even THAT is only a civil union. (I'm not sure if they get the same rights for that, someone find out please?) ^_^

Gay Marriage - Support. There's no reason not to. Absolutely none. I also support for consenting multiple-person marriages.

Marijuana - Still undecided. Probably support.

War - Against. Why do they even need to be there?

Universal Health care - Support! It works fine in Canada. ^^

Prostitution- Support. Why make it illegal to sell something you can give away for free? It's the man/woman's choice.

Euthanasia- Support. If you mean, like the stuff Dr.Kevorkian did. Helping people who wanted to die quietly. But if they ever ever made this legal it would have to be regulated VERY WELL. There are far too many ways for it to be abused.

Death Penalty- Against. Killing people to show that killing people is wrong just seems so hypocritical. Plus, mistakes can always be made. Someone who's spent decades in jail can still be let out if they're found innocent later. Dead people cannot. Plus, it just seems to cause more pain.
Although, I don't often talk about my opinion on the death penalty, because I will admit if somebody killed someone I cared about, I would probably want the death penalty for them.

Prostitution: I support this being legal, it would probably cut down on crime.

Euthanasia: I support this too. I mean, if someone is going to die, you might as well let that person die painlessly instead of suffer and die slowly.

But I do have concerns about it. I don't want it legal and have people feel pressured to end their lives. I also wouldn't want the patient to need someone else's consent. Maybe if the patient was really young, but even then giving the parents that kind of control might also give them the right to authorize euthanasia for their kid if the kid doesn't want it.

I really don't think it's fair that if I was in a coma my parents could consent to have me taken off life support, but if I was dying of a terminal illness I couldn't make the decision to end my own life.

Gay Marriage - Support it.

Marijuana Legalization - Support it. However, I do not believe that all drugs should be legal. I believe that drugs that make a person dangerous to those around them--like meth--should remain legal.

War? - I think it is a terrible mistake that will end up putting the USA in a situation worse than the one before the war. I think the war has traded real lives and real security for a false sense of greater security. That being said, I have no idea if pulling the troops out now that we've put them in will be helpful.

Universal Health Care - I love universal health care. I believe that the right to universal health care is like the right to police protection and fire protection; it should not be determined by the level of one's income.

Abortion - It is eeeeevil! You're all going to Invisible Pink Unicorn hell for supporting it.

Prostitution - I support it being legal, but because of my personal morals in most circumstances I don't like it. Nevertheless, I don't believe that my personal morals should dictate the rights of other women.

Euthanasia - I support it, but only with limitations. Someone is severely depressed? I don't want euthanasia being an option unless there is something to indicate that this severe depression can't be overcome.

Death Penalty - I oppose it unless it is being done because the prisoner is a risk to those surrounding him/her (which would probably the guards and other prisoners). If it is being done in the name of justice (i.e. revenge, emotional satisfaction, etc) then I oppose it. I believe that killing should only be done for self-defense or defense of others, and only then when killing is necessary.

Gay Marriage - I support people being able to marry who they want. Actually even including animals. If you really think you can be happy marrying an animal so be it. I'm weird.

Marijuana - I support the legal use of marijuana in all its forms. If cigarettes are legal i don't see why this shouldn't be especially since its much healthier than cigarettes. I'm not a smoker, I'm allergic.

War - I'm against the US Troops being in Iraq. They never should have gone for the reasons they did. If they had gone in to liberate women and such I might have a different opinion.

Universal Health care - I fully support. It works here . It could work there but it would have to be a different system since the USA is so large.

EDIT:

Prostitution - As long as the sexual double standard still exists I don't think theres anything wrong with this. Especially if the women/men involved like doing their job. But there should be strict laws protecting these people like monthly health-checks and abuse-help centers. Should make it a proper business.

Euthanasia - All for it. It is a persons right to live or die. Born person, that is. If they can consent all the better. If they are mentally handicapped or otherwise unable to make the decision then an investigation should take place.

Death Penalty - Hm, tricky. Has to be proven guilty. I'm more for captial punishment as in whipping than for death. Noone but the living suffer when a death occurs.
