Above the water, in the human world it might be cold and snowy, but under the waves it was warm and bright. Soft music floated on the current accompanied by guitar strumming.
" Didn't I make you feel, like you were the only man? And didn't I give you everything baby that a woman possibly can?" The singing stopped as the singer frowned trying a different set of cords before nodding. "mmm much better."

Ah.... there were so many reasons it was wonderful to be a fish, not having to surface as the cold increased above. Himgûl saw it from his tank at home, in the window of the magical forest cottage. Snow. Blanketing the land as far as the eye could see. Deep foot and pawprints where the landbound creatures walked to and from the house. Pretty but... well the only good thing that Himgûl saw coming from snow and cold was more reasons to get intimately close with someone starting on the pretense of 'sharing warmth' or some other such notion. A truly viable notion.
He was finding himself being, however, very much ignored in his immovable home tank. So many were having frys it seemed -or kits or babies or whatever they were called for each species- to have much time for the beta other than to chat. Even the beach audio, Gwen, who at one point had been a lover after his own heart seemed to have found a mate and suddenly and surprisingly gone all monogamous on him. Thankfully Himgûl could not see the surfer girl choosing to have pups with her muscular paramour, but in sense he missed talking positions and love-lives and -well- enjoying the much larger female's company in his favorite of entertainments.
In other words, the faerie lover was tired of that scene. So he took the portkey the talaye twins had made for Topanga when she was the first and only beta that led between their tank and the main tanks and went for a swim. Not particularly looking for anything but hoping perhaps he would find some willing beta -that hopefully was also quite pleasing to the eyes and touch- with whom to share some time.
It was with that in mind Himgûl swam almost lazily through the tanks, well groomed, looking open but not needy. Then he heard it. Music. He smiled. There was not anyone in his home that did not in some way appreciate & like music. Except perhaps the anthro-owl Percy, but that studious red-head was the worst case of 'stick-in-the-mud' Himgûl had ever seen.
A voice. ... Wait...! He knew that voice? But what was that she was singing? Blue upon blue tail flicked purposefully through the water, putting a bit more drive behind his leisurely swim. He slowed nearing the source and smiled, coming upon a nearby rock and laying his chest flat upon it so he could prop his chin in his hands and watch the singer with her guitar. mmmm... Beautiful as always, was Janis. Patience, watching her, listening to her sing... it would make what Himgûl saw as the very potential 'later' that much sweeter. ah yes... the joys of anticipation.
He waited for another pause in the music before making his presence officially known. "Beautiful, Lulu." The evolved male smiled showing crisp white teeth, the fluttering of his iridescent wings above his back causing his shoulder length blue hair to shift in the water and draw attention to smiling green eyes which focused on the flower-garlanded female with a friendly caress.

For once Janis didn't immediately look up and greet him with a warm loving smile, instead she adjusted the strings and began to sing again "Well, baby, when times are bad,Now call on me, darling, and I’ll come to you. When you’re in trouble and feel so sad,Well, call on me, darling, come on call on me, and I’ll help you."
She let her words trail off as she continued to play, humming and swaying to the music, absorbed into a world where not even he could touch her. When she finally opened her eyes she blinked surprise to see him there. "Fairy man? What ya doing here?"

Well... that was certainly different. Himgûl had to blink that he had actually been ignored. Then listening to Janis continue to play and sing he made the connection and nodded to himself. Then he shrugged and smiled, settling more comfortably onto the smooth surface of his 'perch' to listen to her. So she was absorbed in the music... certainly not something he had never seen before. Not in his household. Of course he had never seen Janis do so. Therefore it was a bit of a fascination to watch, and to wonder when she would notice him. The closest to this he had seen her was when they met Pink Floyd and she was all over the beta's guitar.
The lover smiled remembering the rest of that night with much satisfaction.
This too was enjoyable. Of course not his favorite pastime, but certainly one of the more enjoyable options aside from that. And Janis had a very pleasing voice. It... suited her. Himgûl imagined it to be very soothing and easygoing like the beta who sang it.
When she finally seemed to notice him the promiscuous male lifted a brow as he smiled a slow, sly, sensual smile. "Oh, not much. Enjoying the free show." Lightly he laughed, stretching sensually upon the stone.

Janis smiled faintly gently putting her guitar down. " Do you like my singing?" She tilted her to the side studying him with an odd look on her easy going face.

Hmmm... something was definitely different about Janis today. More than just music enthrall? Rolling onto his side Himgûl leaned on his elbow, chin resting on his hand. His smile was warm and inviting. "Of course I do." The tone of his voice implied both a sense of 'why wouldn't I?' and complete sincerity.

Janis sighed softly brushing her blond hair back from her eyes. "Fairy man what we doing with our lives? I use to think it was nothing, but lately I have been thinking....I need to do something more than just..be here." She sighed again looking tired and stressed.

Himgûl nearly slid from the rock. What? Had he heard her right? She was... serious. The faerie beta's shock was evident on his face. For a moment. It was quickly replaced with concern. He was not heartless. He honestly cared for her - for her well being and happiness. It was... disheartening to see her like this.
"We're living, Janis. There's nothing saying we have to do anything else." Softly he reached out to stroke her hair. "But if you feel there's something more you want to be doing, go for it. So long as it makes you happy I'll back you 110%" And as long as it did not cut out their pleasures together, but Himgûl was smarter than to say that aloud. "Why are you thinking such unhappiness, sunshine?"

Janis sighed leaning into his touch her gold eyes troubled. " I just have felt incomplet lately Himgul." It was the first time she had ever called him by his name. " Like I am missing something, something big that it gonna kill me if I don't find it."
She closed her eyes sadly " Have you ever felt like this? Like a part of your heart is missing?"

"Incomplete?" The fae male repeated softly, a little thrown off at hearing the flower child use his real name. It really had not dawned on Himgûl how he had grown accusted to being 'fairy man' to her.
Like part of his heart was missing? Himgûl pondered as he continued to stroke her hair and bocy beneath it lightly. She could swim into his arms at any time... but this time he would not push her. He would only be warm and inviting. For the time being. "No, Janis. Can't say I have." He sighed softly. Yes, he was a free-floating lover but he still cared. "We can't have something big kill you, Lulu dear. Whatever this is that you're missing... I'd like to try and help you find it." Smile. "You're too beautiful to be so sad."
And something about the way he said the words, it meant more than just her outward appearance.

Janis smiled sadly as she wiggled free "I don't know if you can Himgul, I am not sure anyone can help me any more." She took a deep breath shaking her head as she smiled at him faintly. " It's ok...I will be fine. "

"Lulu... Janis..." His voice soft, beseaching, as the female wiggled away. Himgûl let his hand float there, thankful on some level of being in the water so he did not have to think about what to do with himself. He sighed, honestly looking like he wished there was something anything he could do. "You can at least not be alone. You know that... right?"

"What if I need to be alone?" She snapped back then sighs "I didn't mean to snap at you...I just... I can't Himgul... I'm so sorry. Goodbye." Ignoring his outreached hand she doubled back and darted away quickly to be lost in the sea weed, never pausing to even look back.

Blink. "Lulu, your forgot your... guitar." Blindsided, confused... Himgûl reached for the discarded guitar, glancing off in the direction Janis had swam. he ran his fingers over the strings, knowing it was tuned. He did not know how to play, had never been interested. I'll hold onto it for her.
With a sigh he swam for the portkey that led to his home tank. At the very least he wished to put the instrument somewhere it would not get damaged before he went out again to find a beta to share with today. Only... well if it wasn't going to help Janis there was little he could do about it was there.
