Here is were the Kings lands and power end. This desert covers most of Farthen-Dur land, becoming the heart of Farthen-Dur. This desert is virtually impossible to live in. Water is scarce and food just as much. Shade is even more hard to find that water and food combine and the sun only set for four hours at ago in the winter, during the rest of the months you only get one hour. It is said that only the mighty dragons can survive in these bad lands.

They were on their third day and even though they were hours away they could see the tree line that make the borders of elven territories.

Relena quint her eyes to make the tree line more visible, "Is that were Ellesmera is?"

"Yes, the city of elves. Once we get there we can rest," said Brom.

Relena looked at Wanda. The desert had proven to be as dangerous and deadly as the rumors. If it wasn't for Brom healing magic both Relena and Wanda would still be out cold after the first desert tornado that sent their dragons to the ground. Not to mention they lost the majority of their suplies.

Hopefully rest and relaxation would await them in Ellesmera. Slifer and Ra were quickly reaching their limits.

Wanda lied her head against Ra's neck. She fely like passing out. Heat never did sit well with her, anything that was over eighty degrees never sat well at all with her. "How much longer till we get there Ra's not doing to well..as are I and Relena..og yes and Slifer."

Brom looked at Wanda, "About two hours now."

Relena placed her hands on either shoulder of Slifer. They where hot to the touch and wet with sweat, "Good thing too...Silfer is getting far to hot for my liking!"

"Why thank you...I am flattered," spoke her dragon.

"That is not what I meant!" shouted Relena.

"I know...please do not worry about me. I will last," conforted Silfer.

Wanda just nodded and sighed she started sweatting a bit from how hot Ra's scales were. "Poor Ra....your getting way to hot arnt you..?" Ra took a deep breath and released it. "I'll deal with it I can last Wanda. You need to worry more about yourself your far more fragile then I." Wanda made a face, but nodded.

Relena looked at Wanda and knew how she felt. They were use to Spire cold climate...not Hadarack hot climate.

Soon the tree of the elves, in all there might, appeared beneath their dragon wings.

"Land," said Brom.

Ryu had been in the Hadarack Desert for five hours now. "I'm totally regreting this." Ryu said with a sigh of defeat. He looked out and saw nothing but desert. Ryu pulled out a compass and it was spinning around like crazy. "Lot of good this is doing me. Okay let's think here. Hadarack Desert is east of Bullridge. and northeast.... and southeast..... anyways, if I go back west, then I'll be killed before I make it two feet intot he town, if I go further into this desert, I'll die from the desert... so, prvided that I am heading east, the logical thing to do would be to turn 90 degrees left and shoot straight north outta here." Ryu made his decission and pulled on the reins, making the horse turn left. Ryu hoped that he made done his homework correctly. "The next couple day are going suck." Ryu sighed. He didn't even know the half of it.

It was finally approaching night, the air suddenly became cool. "The sun is going down, finally! Thank god! I thought that son of a b***h would never set." Ryu was happy. He was stopped twice that day by sandstorms. He had to hide the horses behind the wagon to shelter them from the grunt of the storms. Afterwards, they continued on. the was finally setting. Ryu stopped the wagon and gave the horses water and horsefeed. Ryu planned on feeding them but no sleep. Night was the best time to travel, sleep in the afternoon, besides, night only lasted an hour or two anyways. Ryu finished feeding the horses then snapped the reins and got them moving again. The cold sand felt good on their hoofs. Ryu was well aware now that the desert was indeed as big as the maps said. He thought maybe they were exaggerating. Not anymore. But he was curtain that by going straight north, he'd only be traveling the outeredges of the desert, because only a fool would go traveling inwards. Ryu wondered to himself if he shattered the man's jaw. He hoped so. He was a disgusting, flithy, perverted pig. But then again, he wasn't the one in the desert now was he?

Ryu had been traveling for a week, the desert heat, and lack of social interaction began to play tricks with his head. The desrt was one of the absolute worse places one can travel alone. And the Hadarack Desert, well, that was damn near suicide. Ryu's halusinations began to get worse. We was seeing people who weren't there, trees that didn't exist, and water that turned out to be sand. It was day eight in the desert and Ryu had began to know when what was going to ahppen, he would feel sandstorms approaching one hour before they arrived. Ryu was sensing one now. He looked around for a large sand dune to hinde behind or something. He spotted something else, a pit. Ryu thought it was just the desert messing around with his head again, but he figured it was at least worth a shot. He approached the hole and found a fire pit, some scales of some kind and a torn piece of cloth. He picked up the cloth piece. "It's real... This is a shelter. A hole in the desert. wait.... what are these scaly things?" Ryu questioned as he picked up a dragon scale. "Weird. Looks cool though... I think I'll hang on to it. I might be worth something." He tucked the scale into his backpack and pulled out food and water for the horses. "Here you go Dawn and Twilight." He had named them, since he needed the interaction. Ryu looked up as he felt the storm approach. "It's here." Ryu watched as the the wind cut across the desert, but in the hole, it was like watching in through a window. They were actually safe from the dasteredly desert storm. Ryu sighed, and decided now was a good time for sleep.

Hours later, Ryu woke up. It was the best sleep he got all week, finally feeling some form of safety from the desert. He got up and saw the horses sleeping too. He decided It'd be best wait for the sun to set before moving, let the horses get some decent rest. He looked around and noticed some foot prints. Two sets of small ones, then one set of big. "huh? there was someone here? It wasn't until he tripped that he noticed something spatacular. "Wha- what's this? This foot print is HUUUGE!" Ryu exclaimed as he looked down at the giant footprint he was standing in. "I don't know what made these footprints, but it bet it was big enough to eat the other footprints. I'm not taking my chances of that thing coming back." Ryu waited until the sun went down before waking up the horses. "Coming you two, time tog o. The sun is setting, and that means we're outta here!" Ryu snapped the reins. The horses woke up and began to gallop through the desert due north.

It was 8 days after Ryu found the shelter. Finally Ryu saw something a thousand times better then the shelter. He saw the tree line at the edge of the desert. "There! I see it! The end! Please, PLEASE don't let this be a mirage." Ryu pleaded. He snapped the reins and had the horse run fulled gallop towards the tree line. Ryu could feel a storm approaching. If he could just get them half way to that tree line in one hour, then they'd be safe. It was their best chance, since they where quickly running out of food and water and the sandstorm had been gettng worse as the days went by. And with no large sand dunes or shelter any where insight, they were going to be hit by the full force of the desert's wruthless storm. The treeline grew larger as the horses sprinted across the desert. The sand begining to move. "Just a little more!" Ryu yelled. "We're almost th-" But before Ryu could finish the wagon was hit by a blast of wind and tipped over. The horses fell with the wagon. "No, not yet, please not now!" Ryu cried as he tried to cut the reins. He was going to try and make last ditch effort. Lose the wagon, and ride the horses out without the extra weight. Ryu grabbed his pack and freed the horses and got up on one of them. "Come on dawn, we got to go." He kicked the sides of the horse and Dawn took off, Twilight followed in close pursuit. "We can make it, we can make it, we're almost there!" But Before Ryu knew what happened, he was blinded by the sandstorm and soon everything went dark.

Ryu woke up andfelt pressure all over his body, he then pushed up and popped out of the sand. He had been buried by the sandstorm, but he was okay. He looked over for his horses, Dawn and Twilight. They were nowhere to be found. Ryu couldn't even find a bump where they might be buried. if they had escaped without him, their tracks would have been covered by the storm. Between the options of them fleeingor them being buried, Ryu was left with one truth. "I'm alone. They're gone, and I'm alone." Ryu said choking back a sob. Those two horses were the only companions he had for half a month. He could only hope that they escaped without him. He looked off at the horizon and saw the treeline, fuller than ever. "I'm almost there. We came to far to die here. I'm finishing what we started." Ryu stood up and put on his backpack tighter. The sand poured off his body as he rose. He began to make the final miles on foot.

Silfer flew on the winds of the desert. She only used her wings when the desert winds lessen in strength or move back into the winds. She was trying to save energy and remain in sleath. The light from the sky streaked across her black and silver scales. Her wing sounded like slapping water, a silent hum in a way. The two mules and horse had long since fallen asleep in her claws as she craddle them in flight.

Relena attempted a few talks with Sounga, while yes they were getting better the sword demand to be in charge and/or given to a far better swordmans than her. Relena was making progress....slowly....very...slowly.

Relena looked over her shoulder at Ryu, "How are you holding up?" They had been traveling now for few hours and the treeline of ellesmera had long since vanished. She was sure that by now the elves would have finally realized their absence.

Ryu turned around, his hair was limper then usual. "I hate the desert. Stupid sandbox of death. I can't believe that I crossed this thing though." Ryu looked out at the eide expanse of the desert. There was no sign of anything but desert in every direction, even from up in the sky, the desert seemed to go on forever. "Why do you think this desert is so big? I mean... it's just sand, sand, rock, sand, sun, sand, heat, sand, sand, and more sand. But the forest just pops up all of a sudden... Why does it change so drastically? It's almost like... the heart of this land... weithered away and dried up. Like this entire country is built around a dry and sandy death-trap. Kinda weird huh?" Ryu looked at Relena's bewildered face. "What the heck am I talkin' about? It must the heat messin' with my head. Forget I said anything. So... where are we headin'? I mean, besides out of this life-forsaken death zone?" Ryu smiled before wiping the sweat off his brow.
