The castle itself lies in a dark woods, at the top of a large hill in an area resembling the fictionalized transylvania. The lords and ladies of the castle are a select set of people, those who can handle nanotechnological rebuilds of their bodies and interface with the biocomputers. This interface talent has been dubbed Spark, and it's presence or absence is what determines how much of the high technology can be integrated directly into a persons body. The most powerful spark, and the original creator of the castle is the now immortal Emperor James. Below him in power, but still possessing capabilities that would label them gods in many places are the 6 High Lords. Below them, but still weilding powers unheard of outside the castle and the surrounding land are the regular Lords. These may have lesser sparks at their command, and the castle holds a population of nearly 10,000 if one includes the failed sparks who pushed too far and have been turned into braindead servants for those who have yet to make such a mistake. The inhabitants intentionally echo much of the fuedal european nobility, practicing martial skills hundreds of years out of date along side modern warefare, their Emperor guiding them towards being a strong military force for reasons not yet revealed. Most of the inhabitants are not native to the castle, but found wandering or picked up off the street and given a home.... and frequently fantastic powers.

Enhancement guide:
Most sparks choose to focus their enhancements on one sort of thing. For convience and simplicity, I'm going to designate "normal" packages for lord level sparks. Anyone chosing to play a character other than a Lord should consult me. Others should take a package and then tweak it, or if none of them fit what you want, consult me.

General purpose package
This package includes the com link which allows you to interface with the castle's systems, low level bio-repair nanobots which will stop most bleeding and improve healing speed, a pharacope with basic medications and a (STUPID) biocomputer for basic automated functions
Note sad every sparky character has this, period. other packages may improve on aspects of it. other probably have gadgets to do much of this)

Physical combat package
This package includes significant bone restructuring, improved musclulature in both efficiency and resilience, a highly advanced personal medicomp and the best bio repair nano bots and some sensory enhancement as well as reaction speed enhancers of various sorts. It also features the computer linkages nessicary to operate the powered "plate mail" popular at the castle to its fullest. May include built in weapons, sub dermal armor and other similar improvements. Not so stupid general purpose bio-computer also integrated.

Ranged Combat package
This package features less extensive muscle and bone restructuring. The medicomp and bio repair nanobots are the same as the physical combat package. The computer linkages nessicary for the plate mail are also apparent, but less effective due to the increasingly altered nerve structure nessicary to support the extensive sensory enhanement and the reaction time enhancers. Again, may include built in weapons, subdermal armor and similar improvements. General purpose computer is quite smart compared to other combat packages

Thinker package
This package largely ignores physical capabilities to focus on mental issues. the enhancements vary widely, with common things being nervous system speed enhancers, fatigue suppressors and other things which allow more subjective time to be devoted to thought. Features the many of the smartest bio-computers, some being AIs in their own right.

Trickster (magician) package:
this package allows one to do various relatively low energy tricks by directly manipulating the objects involved. The process of doing such things is nearly indistinguishable from magic or psionics. Power of such abilities depends signifcantly on power available. Usually has significant cosmetic changes built in. Relatively smart bio-computer.

Espionage package
Less of almost everything in the ranged combat package, but with the added feature of active camoflage. Also built in tools for remote hacking and connecting directly to other sorts of systems. Smart bio-computer.

Suggested character types by castle heirarchy:
Very good players, with time to be active: High Lords (5 remaining), Lord and odd characters
Good players, with less time: Lords or other odd characters
Normal to bad players: relatively standard Lords

NOTE: I am using the term Lord primarilly for convience. Ladies may be of any rank. If it bugs you, you can read Lord as Lord/Lady.

Psuedo-Science

Power sources
The entire castle and almost all the various pieces of technology run on nano generators operated by Casmir Radiation which is emitted by perfect vaccuum. The particles which make up such radiation are used to drive what are essentially thousands of picometer scale pistons which generate power. A very few of the heavier things such as the largest powered platemail suits are run on cold fusion packs. Power is cheap and available at almost theoretical max density. Plasma and other energy weapons are thus possible but rare.

Materials
Almost every thing in the castle not otherwise specified is a form of low bonding energy high density plastic which is created on demand by nanobots. As the materials are almost perfectly recyclable, material wealth is deterimined more by how much cubic one owns in the castle and the high tech gizmos one posseses, as the engineering and complication of such devices costs far more of one's resource allocation than the materials alone would suggest.

Gizmos
The inhabitants of the castle have put quite alot of time into theoretical and applied physics over however long it has been around. Notable gizmos include: Holographic projector belts, low energy forcefields small enough to be in jewelry, gravity manipulaating boots that turn anything into floor, the oft mentioned Platemail and clothes which change color and style on command.

Weapons
Most weapons not kept in the armory are relatively low powered and short ranged. 90% of them are various high tech versions of medieval close combat weapons, with swords being the most perfered. It is a custom to go armed with a mere unpowered sword or other weapon to parties and such if one is a member of any of the various fighting groups.

James awoke from his meditation. He had news and orders. These must given to everyone. He decided that everyone must be summoned, and that this was time to reassert his authority. He sent the message to everyone to assemble in the great hall, and sent a message to prepare a feast for the peers and warriors. He then traveled to the hall and crafted the door shut and solid, the thick doors all but impossible to move at the best of times.

Seamus got the message, already doing some redundant streches after his shower. He quickly pulled his platemail on over his body stocking, perfering to wear it at all times. It made him almost as tall as most people, which was always a good thing as far as he was concerned. He rushed down the halls to the great hall, almost flattening a few of the servants who were a bit to slow but he dodged around them at the last second. they chittered at each other, verbalizing machine code very quickly as he sped on and crashed headlong into the door, bouncing almost into the other wall.

Seamus, hearing her turned the stumble into a back hand spring. He landed right next to her with a loud thud, the weight of the armor and him quite substantial. The floor dented for a moment, ordinarily quite a feat before it fixed itself.
"Morning, 'suki. Hows that about history books and dignifing me? I don't want to be dignified, unlike you. Killing a high lord in a fit for coping a feel isn't all that dignified either."

Seamus shrugged, doing another hand spring, throwing himself feet first at the door, almost denting the super tough material. He then threw himself back off the door over Mitsuki's shoulder, landing behind her and poking her bottom before turning cartwheels away, laughing. He was good at cartwheels, almost blurring as he turned them faster and faster around the corridors almost at random.

Seamus was already around a corner, still cartwheeling wildly through the hallways, dodging people by a hairs width as they made their way to the great hall. He stopped a good 2/3 of a mile away, and started back the same way, cartwheeling at almost 30 miles an hour.
