I cannot believe my husband some times! Things that you would think would be common sense completely elude him! Story time: Its his job to do the dishes, and we have never has a problem with it. Until today. We have to do some food shopping but he wants to get a load of dishes in the washer. Well we come home and put the bags of things on the kitchen floor to be put away and what do we find? A large amount of bubbly suds seeping out of the dishwasher. He put the wrong soap in the machine! How hard is it to tell the difference between the two bottles? On is under the sink and orange and on is out next to the sink and green. I know he knows which to use, but for some unknown reason just didn’t do it!
Oh, and apparently he’s done it before, but it never foamed out like that! I just don't get it! Is this what I get for marrying a man who grew up with out a dishwasher?

Well think of it this way, at least you have a dishwasher. I don't. Our sink was broken for six months and I was forced to do the dishes in the bathroom, in the sink. How stupid is that?
Funny story though. My husband attempted laundry once and I never let him do it again. In fact other than cooking I pretty much handle most of the housework. But I enjoy it so its not big deal. Plus he works right now and I don't.

David is actually good at that sorta thing. but i dont think he will be doing any dish washing. i grew up with a dishwasher and he didnt. and im moving in with his family this summer. it will be a new experience for me. lol. ill have to get used to all new apliances. i get confused easily, so even if it does the same thing but have different looking dials i wont know what to do. sweatdrop and their stove..! man..they just need a new stove. how they dont set the house on fire with that thing is a miracle.

We have a dishwasher, but not enough dishes to occupy it. We COULD use it, but we wouldn't have anything to eat on in the meantime.. I'm just used to washing all dishes by hand.. It's easier, and it keeps me warm!

Dishwasher?! I've heard of those! LOL I do the dishes here. Our well went out a few weeks ago and we had no water for two days other than what I had bottled up since I knew the well was having problems and the snow I melted for using in the potty. I'm so glad it was 7 inches of snow outside! I went to the creek for some water once. Bad idea. The snow made the hill slick and I stuck a leg in the creek when I slipped. Kinda funny now but I wasn't laughing then! We pulled the well the first chance we had and replaced the foot valve. I love having water!

Well the only reason we have a dishwasher in the first place is because it was included with the apartment. And the only reason we have enough dishes to fill it up is because I like having friends over for dinner.
Ame no Tenshi, I don’t work as much as he does so really his only job is taking care of the dishes when we use them. (if its just us, we use paper plates.) I take that back, he’ll make soup if I’m sick, or he uses the BBQ when we have burgers or steak. =) other then that, the house is my job.
Oh yeah, Sabotabby, I know how you feel. I grew up in a house with a well, and we used to have to leave the water running at night so the pipes wouldn’t freeze on their way up our hill! But on those annoying chances when they do, us kids were sent out to get snow and ice for my mom to melt for things. My grandpa has a truck that could make it up the steep hill to our house, so when he was in town he would bring us bottles and bucket of water. But when he couldn’t we were stuck. =(

So... I think we broke our dishwasher...
We tried washing a load today and it started foaming worse then before. and this time there was a bunch of water that came out with it!
It really sucks. I hope we don't have to pay for another one (even though we broke it) It came with the apartment so hopefully they will buy us a new one or just take it out of our deposit. If not it looks like thats what we will have to spen our tax return on...

We fight over the dishes -- in our dinky little apartment we don't have a washer right now -- neither of us likes doing them, but we only have a set of 4 of everything so we have to do dishes, almost everday.
I make messes when I do the dishes -- he just doesn't like dirty things (really he won't even eat things w/ his hands == like pizza or hamburgers!!)
Anyway, we've decided that _wherever_ we live next there _will_ be a dishwasher ^_^...
we talked to a real estate guy and he asked, "so what are you looking for?"
Dave said, "a dishwasher."
ahhaha

I wish I had a dishwasher.
Anyway maybe you should get those tablet style dishwashing soap after it is fixed a/o replaced. That way there is abolutely no confusion.
Yeah. A dishwasher would be nice. My husband grew up with one and they would grumble about doing the dishes. WHen I heard that I laughed! Mat-kun wishes we could buy one, and since we are technically living in a house my mom owns(across the street from my parents) I might let him pick ous out one if my mom gives us the "go ahead". I think I'm just giddy about being able to have him pay off the credit card! 4laugh

All he said was it's because if we use soap to rinse the dishes and still put them in the washer it suds up and the extra water is the suds building up and not a leak. Maybe there's still a lot of soap build up and just try running it without dishes and detergent a couple times?

My husbands jokes that he IS the dishwasher. We live in an old house, with a kitchen smaller than most apartment kitchens, and no possible space to install a dishwasher (the oven is right next to the sink, and the refridgerator across from it, so we'd have to rip out one of the two cupboards we have for dish storage). Since he's the stay-at-home parent, he has to wash them every day if we want any counter space.

Well, we just moved into a house (renting). We have a dishwasher, it just isn't hooked up, so it'd be a pain to use. So handwashing dishes it is! The thing that bugs me, though is not having a washer/dryer. Luckily, I have two mothers willing to lend me theirs every/other weekend..

lol thats something that my husband would do, though he has some expreance with dishwashers. He didnt know how to cook anything though, poor thing. Had to teach him that cooking on high is never good.. EVER. it just chars food.. and does not make it any faster than normal cooking.
