Fleep Lupas Deva Fleep Lupas Deva What about the user event to protest the MTV incident? A lot of users are refusing to donate this month (Including myself). ... what about it? (And I wouldn't really call that a user-event) If user donations go down enough what do you think the Admin will do? btw, I appreciate you directing your attention to my question even if you don't have an answer. We'll have to see if that ever happens. We're taking steps to make the MTV sponsorship less intrusive (without decreasing it's visibility), for starters. As long as we keep making Cash Shop updates and MC updates that users like, and we keep stabilizing Gaia and adding content for users to enjoy, I don't foresee it being much of a problem. Of course, if they do ever drop significantly, we'll have to address whatever the cause of that drop is.

what was the point in starting a "pop" store with only 5 items? is it just me or does that seem retarded?

The entire influence of the MTV event makes Gaia feel a little dumber (if that was possible)
The TV shows are terrible beyond belief....I actually watched it twice to get the green item. Never again!

All I keep thinking is "Wow. MTV must have given them a LOT of money."
As for actually watching the episodes, I usually start it up right before dinner, make sure the sound is off, and by the time I come back it's done and I can get my item. You don't think I'm going to actually watch that garbage?

I'm pretty sure I'm not in the target age for the MTV stuff. I've never watched MTV in my life time and I don't care for the Hills at all but none of the themes to that series is new to teens. If the majority [that I'm thinking is more of the newer Gaians] wants stuff like that it's obvious that's the kind of sponsors they'll pick. No one is forcing anyone to watch the Hills episodes or buy the items. I like some of those items and don't mind seeing the shop there either.
However, I would have been much happier to see Ian back in his shop before seeing yet a new shop [especially since it's non-Gaia related]. Perhaps it would also help ease those annoyed by their latest choices if they took a half GCD [which seems to be filled with more of the older Gaians] and half Chatterbox [which seems to be filled with more of the newer Gaians] opinion before accepting new sponsors. There needs to be more of balance in the sponsors taken. Something that better fits to Gaia Online.

Very informed opinion.

Diana GRoss The entire influence of the MTV event makes Gaia feel a little dumber (if that was possible) The TV shows are terrible beyond belief....I actually watched it twice to get the green item. Never again! I click on the little arrow that marks the point where it's at and I drag it close to the end--that way I don't have to watch it.

I agree it seems quite pointless but then again if it helps put gaia on the map who blames them

I do not appreciate Gaia becoming so commercialized. I think the show is stupid from what I've seen on here. The items are okay, but I don't think I'll be buying them. I miss the old MTV, from when I was a kid. What happened to the music videos anyway?

Damn. ok, here is the silver lining, if MTV is giving Gaia a pile of cash (and they better for flooding the site with so much crap) then maybe Gaia can get rid of the N64 servers and bring the site speed up.

The Hills seemed very much like a soap opera to me, except with better background music. The target audience of The Hills and the target audience for Gaia, I thought, was very different. Gaia is very ANIME oriented, while that garbage show is DRAMA oriented. I'm just afraid that Gaia will lose the identity it has developed over the years as it takes on all these sponsers.
