The black stallion chuckled to the rolling plains from his favorite hillside, enjoying the sudden change of perspective the birth of their foals had brought to the view. It seemed as though he was fresh from the basket along with them.
The memory of Tiffany's genuine smile added to his grin. That was her true beauty, and she seemed to enjoy it just as much as her beauty without.
Maybe she knew, now? Nothing was perfect. But what they had found....it could not be closer.
Nickering, he wheeled to head back to his....family. His family. He would make certain it would be his greatest masterpiece.

The pure white mare looked onward as the wind blew the across the thawing earth. The snow was beginning to melt, and one could sometimes see clumps of grass peeking up from the frost. Soon, the flowers would be back. In more than one way.
She looked down at the baskets on either side of her. Three gorgeous, perfect baskets. They had clearly taken only the best traits from hersellf and Korusi. Not that there were any bad ones, really. The pink, black, white, and golden blond colors blended perfectly into the most beautiful baskets she had ever seen.
The mare sighed, remembering her pregnancy as only a blur of mood swings and confusion. It was before her and Korusi were considering themselves mates when the foals were conceived, which was quite unlady like. Tiffany would have liked nothing more than tearing the gorgeous stallion to bits. From his shiny elegant horn and beautiful mane down to his back and tail, speckled with cherry blossems.
But she had realized that she could never do such a thing. He was the father of her foals, and more over, she felt like she loved him. Tiffany had never had a mate, much less a friend, and wasn't sure how much she could trust her own emotions.
But the stallion fit the bill. He was witty, romantic, kind, and absolutely amazing looking. His colors contrasted and complimented hers so beautifully. There wasn't much more to ask for. And now, they had created new life, the most beautiful new life in the world.

He chuckled when he came into the clearing, having learned to recognize that prideful look in his mate's eyes. Some things would never change....but some things never needed to.
"Have you rested at all?"

Tiffany let out her most charming laugh. She had decided long ago that she would not strive to be motherly, but simply be her natural self. Foals or not, she would always be her own mare. She just now had an extension of herself, a very wonderful extension of herself.
"Not really" she said truthfully "but I'm honestly not tired, darling. Really, sleeping can be such a buren, what with finding the proper place and such. Well, it seems to be too much trouble." she said, looking down at the baskets "And I just can't bring myself to look away from the little ones" she added.
And it was true. She used to not like sleeping. She got dirty, and was often worried that some sort of danger would come about her if she slept to long. The poor mare had acquired many enemies somehow. Many were simply jealous. But it had taken her quite some time that now with Korusi and her foals, she would never have to be alone again.

"Heh....what if I lie here and watch you all?" he murmured, lowering his head to nibble loose those curls she surely thought couldn't be perfect otherwise. "You should try to sleep a little. Both of us may miss the opportunity when they're old enough to come out."
He grinned down at the baskets painted so carefully to match the newborns within, each one a blend of he and she. "Won't you?" he teased softly.

"I suppose" the mare said, yawning, lowering her head to the ground. She was so tired, perhaps just this once she could just lay here and sleep, and not worry about anything, and not worry about ruining her appearance. There was a river near by, she could fix herself later. And Korusi...well, she was starting to notice that he almost preferred when she was not perfect. The mare was baffled by this notion, but she didn't question it.
Korusi was not an odd stallion, but Tiffany never considered him to be normal, either. After all, she would never settle for average. Or even above average. She needed spectacular, and he was certainly that.
"I wouldn't miss a second" she whispered.
