The sun was high, the sky clear and the temperature cool. There was so much to see, so much to learn of her new home and yet her sister Myhrr was no where to be found. When used to being in the company of your sister at all times...being alone was rather daunting yet at the same time thrilling. Trotting around, the red sparkled Ulaya explored, the lands taking in the new sights and smells with a smile.

Mint was lazing around on a large rock that had absorbed some heat from the sun. She wasn't a big fan of cooler weather, so she was soaking up as much sun as she found possible.
Her eyes closed, she was half dosing off when she heard a few foreign noises nearby. Cracking her eyes open, she peeked from side to side, not seeing anything out of the ordinary, but sensing another presence nearby.

In her wanderings she took notice of another not to far off and how how pretty they looked. Pale green fur with speckles here and there. They seemed to be sleeping but then again she could never be to sure so she cautiously approached. For all she knew, this other ulaya could have the temperment of a rose. Allowing you to bask in it's beauty but if you aren't careful it will p***k you with it's thorns.
Once close enough to what she now knew was a female, she spoke clearly making sure to anunciate her words. "Hello ma'am."

Mint jumped slightly at the sudden sound. She must have dozed off again, because she hadn't realized that another ulaya had approached her. In the blink of an eye she was up and watching the other ulaya with guarded eyes, that soon became friendly.
She giggled slightly before shaking her head, the tuft of minty green hair falling over her eyes "Please, I'm no ma'am" she quibbed "I wouldn't think I looked that old" she joked. She jumped from the rock gracefully, and landed in front of the other ulaya. "I'm Mint" she clarified "Nice to meet you"
Although still slightly wary of the red ulaya she clashed so wonderfully with -one could never be too certain of strangers- her friendly and serene personality quickly banished any ill-feelings towards the other female.

"A pleasure to meet you and no you do not look old at all. Your beauty encompasses a young age...not to say you would be less beautiful when older..."
Her nerves were getting the best of her. All was alright...she simply needed to calm herself is all. "I am Xeri and my sister Mhyrr is running about somewhere." Such a friendly ulaya this one was yet so guarded. She must have had bad experiances before. Well good. She could show her her integridy.
"So tell me what is live here like?"

Had she been any other ulaya, Mint would most likely have blushed scarlet at all the compliments the red ulaya was giving her. Only her level headedness saved her from stuttering out a million things at once, making a complete fool of herself. Instead she smiled charmingly and spoke in a calm voice "If you find me beautiful, you must not have met many ulayas" a laughter sounding like little bells escaped her mouth "I am by no means extraordinary or special... but thank you nevertheless"
Noticing the others nervousness she cocked her head slightly. This wasn't a normal behavior to her, and it puzzled her a little bit.
"Oh... I don't live here" she answered "I belong to a pack that lives quite far off, but in these chilly months I tend to wander off and get as much sun as possible" she clarified "my pack generally likes to stay in cool areas"

"Sadly no. My sister is the only ulaya I've ever had contact with. I don't remember much of anything when it comes to our parents or pack if we ever were part of one. But thats just fine. It just makes everything a learning experiance and so long as you have family...even if it's just one other ulaya thats all you really need ya'know."
Xeri watched the gestures and expressions exhibited by Mint. She had just cocked her head slighty and her eyes showed that she was puzzled...but why? Perhaps she could sense her nervousness?
"Sounds fun...being surrounded by so many. Plenty of friends can amount from that equation. Oh and sorry to puzzle you...it's just your the first ulaya...other than my sister that I have met and well first impressions help you learn alot about others. I suppose I don't want to give you the wrong impression of me."

"Ah, I see... That must be awful" she trailed off "not knowing where you're from, I mean" she thought for a few seconds "Then again, I have a rather large family, we're 6 siblings, yet I hardly see or talk to anybody in my family, so I suppose you're not really missing out on anything"
Mint smiled slightly "Well, I suppose you could see it like that, but even though I am in a pack, I hardly have any friends..." she giggled "and don't worry, all the ulayas I have been around have always been very sure of themselves and rather cocky" she grinned as she thought back to a run-in she had had with a particuarly cocky ulaya she had met as a kit, before continuing "you just mystified me for a second there"
Getting up, she started padding away from the rock, before turning towards the red ulaya "Walk with me? I'm getting restless from just sitting around"

Quickly Xeri trotted after Mint until she was side by side with the female. "Lead the way. You know these parts better than I do atleast. So tell me about yourself. I'd like to get to know a little more about you."

Mint smiled, and stop short in her tracks for a few seconds, before deciding to head towards the river she had seen earlier in her wanderings. There had been some lush berry bushes nearby, and a few comfortably looking rocks where they could both rest comfortably while talking.
"Well... I don't really know what to say" Mint admitted "I'm obviously a female ulaya. I've been an adult for some time now, but I'm by no means old. I don't have any kits myself, but I'd love to have some one day" she smiled "I have a rather large family, like I said, I have six siblings, and we're all part of the same pack with my parents, but I don't see any of them much" she quickly added "I like to wander, rather than just stick around the same place all the time, but its nice to know there is somewhere you belong..."
She was quiet for a little while before continuing "I'd like to believe I'm a nice ulaya... It takes a lot to get me riled up, and I tend to care a lot" she mused "I really don't have much else to say... was there anything in specific you wanted to know?"

"Actually nope. Simple things like that help one know tons about you. Now it's my turn. As I said I don't know my parents or a pack I may have been in but thats fine seeing as I have my sister. I like to wander as well for with wanderings you come across many new things to learn. I like to think that I'm a nice ulaya and I've been adult for some time now as well...though I guess someone could say that I act more like a child than anything."
Xeri giggled for a moment before gaining her thoughts back. "I too would like to have kits of my own one day. Lots and lots of kits. I think I could handle it since I have oodles and oodles of patience. Oh and my favorite color is rainbow."

Mint smiled at the enthusiastic ulaya next to her. "Your favourite color is rainbow?" she raised an eyebrow "thats not exactly a color now, is it?" she giggled slighly before cocking her head slightly, obviously thinking hard "I don't know what my favourite color is, actually... I've always been around a lot of blue though, so I kinda connect that color with home and safe-being" she shrugged lightly "I never really thought about it, never seemed very important I suppose" she mused to herself.
"Here we are" she said as they reached the river, unintentionally changing the topic "There should be some berries around somewhere if you're hungry... and I believe the sun should have warmed the stones up by now, if you dislike the cold temperatures like me" she chuckled as she made her way to one of the larger flat stones. Making herself comfortable on top of one of them, she almost purred as the warmth from the stone forced its way through her fur and started heating up her body.

"Of course it's a color....well a collection of colors. Thus my favorite color is rainbow." She too giggled, it sounding like the churr of a small animal. Hearing that blue may be Mints favorite color was good in itself. Blue was a very soothing color. Then it came. The talk of berries and sun warmed rocks.
A smile graced her features and her eyes lit up even more. "Mmmm berries." Sniffing, she followed her nose to the ripe ones. Taking one into her mouth she nearly melted. Raspberries...."

Mint thought about it for a few seconds before answering "Well... wouldn't it be more logical to day that you didn't -have- a favourite color then?" she rationalized "that you like all colors equally, I mean..." she trailed off, noticing that Xeri most likely wasn't listening anymore, but rather focusing on the sunriped berries.
She smiled and shook her head as she watched the reaction of the red ulaya when she popped one of the raspberries in her mouth. She looked positively hilarious. "I take it you like berries then?" she giggled, before gliding silently off her rock and sniffed her way to some blackberries, popping a few sweet ones in her mouth. "My favourite" she stated, a few purpleish specks of fruit juice speckling her otherwise white muzzle.
