User ImageThe Southern Falls

The large extinct volcano that created Crater lake and the giant Sandpainter Canyon holds one extra marvel of nature -- A Two mile high waterfall that plunges streight down from the fresh water lake into the salt water at bottom of the Canyon.

The waterfall is about fourty feet across during the rainy season, and during the dry season splits into three falls of only about three feet wide each. The winds of the canyons narrowest tip buffet the water into a fine mist before it can reach the bottom, making it so it is constantly raining fresh, cool water for the last mile.
