The Lady’s Icy Kiss

Bare the trees
For leaves have fallen
Sun forsakes the frosted land
Winter brings with her
Her icy kiss of death

White the snow
That seems so innocent
But the chill of it
Promises to steal away hope

Huddle close to the fire
Bright flames creating an eternal void
Hold tightly to
The Sun's first ray of spring

Listen closely for
The Robin's song
Ignore the Lady's
Icy Kiss
And the blackened call
That Death whispers in your ears

Cast your eyes away
From Destructions terror
And Tragedy's grief

Look for the Moon's warm glow
The comforting light of night
Cast away the shackles of Ice and Snow
That attach to skin

The flicker of Hope
May be as dim as a dying candle's
But Spring's saving grace
Will give strength to those who fight
Her sister season's tragedies
