Other wolves that she meets in the woods! :O
PostPosted: Thu Dec 16, 2004 5:48 pm

These three animals seem to have some sort of connection to Aeria...
The Bear

Nagira is a male grizzly bear (Ursus arctos horribilis) living in the Shaoilin Woods. Strong, resourceful, and clever, he lives in a medium-sized territory without the company of many other animals. He is peaceful by nature, but will not hesitate to defend himself if attacked, and you do not want to go up against this fellow. He stands at nearly 9 feet and weighs 600 pounds.

The Deer

Mrigalochan's name is Indian and translates to "One with eyes like that of a deer". The buck's eyes are his most distinctive feature, being an almost unearthly shade of yellow. It is unclear if there's a special significance to them, or if he is simply an unusual looking animal.

The Squirrel

Weeko is a female red squirrel (Tamiasciurus hudsonicus). Her name is Sioux and means "pretty". This small creature is often found running around the forest floor, gathering acorns and other tree nuts. She loves to eat, so it's no surprise that most of her time is dedicated to finding food.

Dec. 13, Aeria and Gizmo meet

Kimaria
The little pup was content to snuffle through the frosty leaves that had fallen steadily during the autumn. His breath misting in clouds about his muzzle as he trotted along the empty path, the sound of leaves crackling underfoot.

With a small huff he paused and raised his head to glance about him, golden eyes surveying this strange new place with wonder and fear. He constantly found that he was telling himself that being alone was for the best, this way he wouldn't be let down.

Friday_Dora
Aeria trotted briskly through the woods, shivering ever so slightly as her puppy fur did not yet provide much warmth. She paused occaisionally to investigate the different sights and sounds, and to mouth at the small patches of snow that dotted the trails.

When she approached a small clearing where the trails converged she spotted some movement. She didn't see the pup at first, as his coat provided the perfect camouflage during this time of year. She slowly approached as silently as possible, but the rustling of leaves as she walked quickly blew her cover.

Kimaria
Gizmo froze as he heard the scuffling sounds from the trees and turned his head very slowly towards the direction he had heard it. A squeaky growl rumbled in his throat and he took a wary step back, not wanting to get caught face to face with a predator in his lonesome state. A wave of relief flooded him as he saw a pup not much older than himself steadily approaching.

His social skills were lacking but he decided to wag his tail a little in hope that this would be enough to warn the stranger he meant no harm. He was too tired from all the walking and the chill wind that never seemed to leave him alone.

Friday_Dora
Aeria's ears flicked backwards when Gizmo growled, but once the pup began to wag his tail she did the same. She walked up to him with her head lowered slightly, and a low whine escaped her. She continued to wag her tail until she reached him, at which point she sat down in front of the other pup.

Her milk chocolate gaze landed on the pup's face, though she tried her best to avoid eye contact until she knew he was friendly. He seemed nice enough, though, and her tail began to wag again.
Hello, she said rather shyly.

Kimaria
The pup titled his head and drew his ears forward, not sure how to react. This new youngster seemed friendly enough but how should he greet her? With a small yip he continued to wag his tail before speaking.

Hello, who you? His language was unpractised and a little clumsy but he hoped he had got the message across to her. He hated being misunderstood because he could not express his thoughts into words.

He allowed himself to relax, eyes remaining half closed as the bitter wind swept past them and could not retain a small shudder. The weather seemed to be getting worse by the day.

Friday_Dora
The young wolf lay down on the ground, flattening her body so that the icy wind would pass right over her and not chill her any further. She looked up at the other wolf and yipped back before replying to his query.

My name is Aeria, she said. Who are you?

Kimaria
He nodded his pale muzzle and copied her motions, lowering his furry belly onto the ground and lying with his tail curled about him. The pup's name was a pretty one, he thought before remembering she had asked him a question.

I Gizmo He replied, a sparkle in his eyes as he announced his name. Why you alone? He asked, feeling comfortable enough to continue the conversation without fear of being laughed at.

Friday_Dora
Aeria considered this, and her eyes shifted back and forth as she did so.
I... I don't know, really. I don't remember how I came to be alone. She curled in a ball and tucked her furry tail over her sesitive nose, which was getting very cold rather quickly. Why are you alone?

Kimaria
Gizmo's head shot up at what she had spoken, the words 'don't know' ringing a familiar tune in his head. There were a lot of things that he himself did not know, his memory was terrible and remembering things did not come easy to the small wolf. Perhaps another curse of being the runt pup, too weak and stupid to do anything but rely on others.

His hackles rose as he thought of this, making him appear more fluffy and cute than anything else. This female was the same as him, alone and with no memories - except he did remember some things - he just prefered not to speak of them.

I choose to be. He replied, hoping that would be a suficient answer for the little female.

Friday_Dora
Aeria tilted her head slightly in confusion. This little wolf pup chose to be alone? Her mind began swirling with thought. Why would a wolf, especially such a young one, choose to be alone? It was a dangerous way to live. Finding food was difficult enough, but defending yourself and your territory was another matter altogether. If she'd had the choice she would have never chosen to be alone.

She simply nodded and said, Oh, not wanting to offend Gizmo in any way. Maybe he had good reason...

Kimaria
Gizmo was a little worried by her response, had he said something wrong? Perhaps he had offended her without meaning too. He gave a small whimper and sat up again, keeping his tail firmly wrapped along one flank.

He tried to remember what his mother had done when she tried to say sorry but couldn't and moved round to lie beside her. I say wrong word? He asked in a small voice. He didn't like upsetting others and especially ones who didn't taunt him for his obvious flaws.

Friday_Dora
Aeria's eyes softened as she looked at Gizmo.
No, it's just that... She whined slightly. Why do you want to be alone? There. She had said it. It concerned her slightly that he'd said he wanted to be alone, and she just wanted to know why.

Kimaria
The wolf pup gave a slight whimper, it hurt him to remember the reason and even though he forgot many things, that one detail in his life flared up constantly. He doubted he would ever rid himself of it.

others... He began, thinking carefully how to word his reply in case she misunderstood him, others tease for being...differ...different. There he had said it and he hoped it had been satisfactory. He didn't want to go into detail, but he knew he should atleast hint at the problems pack life had caused him. He'd rather face the world alone with the moon and stars protecting him, than return to those who he should call family.

Friday_Dora
The brown pup also whimpered and lay her head on the ground.
I am sorry, Gizmo. She could tell that the conversation was bringing up painful memories.

It made sense, though. If she had been somewhere where she had been unhappy, she probably would have left, too, but she felt that the place she had come from had been wonderful. She vaguely remembered being warm and well-fed, with a belly full of milk. She pushed the memories aside. That didn't matter anymore. What mattered now was Gizmo, he was unhappy and Aeria felt that she was the cause.

Kimaria
He blinked in confusion, why had she apologised? As far as the little pup knew, she had done nothing wrong other than to ask a question that he was sure most others would be wondering.

It wasn't her fault that his pack had not been as comforting as others but perhaps it was for the best. He would become stronger and one day he would return to them and they would no longer be able to mock him.

Why you be sorry? Not your fault. His tail wagged very slowly as he watched her with his golden eyes. He wasn't sure what else to say.

Friday_Dora
She lifted her head and offered a weak smile.
I know.. I'm just sorry you were unhappy.

Her tail wagged slightly, but another gust of wind blew past them and she quickly lowered her head and curled her tail over her nose once again.

It's so cold, she muttered.

Kimaria
The little wolf stood up on his paws and looked down at the female, he understood how cold she was and could not contain a small shudder of his own.

If they didn't get out of the wind soon they would both be frozen and he was pretty sure that wouldn't be good for either of them.

Lowering his head he nudged at her with his pink nose and gave a small yip, turning his head up to the trees. We find shelter, he muttered, focus returning to Aeria, or we freeze. He remained standing at her side, waiting for her decision.

Friday_Dora
Aeria yipped and gave a weak nod. In the forest?

She stood up and shook the snow from her coat before turning to look at Gizmo. You lead, I'll follow.

Kimaria
Glad that Aeria had agreed, the pup clambered up the small slope that led into the forest. He wasn't too sure what he was looking for, a thick plant to offer shelter, perhaps a hollow in the ground. All he knew was that instinct was telling him to get out of the cold.

Hopping over a root that jutted from the ground Gizmo paused to wait for the female, not wanting them to get seperated. It was strange, but now that he had found a friend he didn't want to return to solitude.

His breath hung in the air, fuzzing his vision as he continued on his way, leaves slippery beneath clumsy paws as he continued through the trees. Another strong gust of wind brought him to a halt and he lowered his head to keep his eyes from being stung by it's vicious touch. He wasn't sure what he was supposed to do, but he did not want to let his friend down.

Which way? He mumbled aloud, more to himself than to his companion although he hoped she had heard. Perhaps her senses were more intuned that his own.

Friday_Dora
Aeria trotted after Gizmo, staying close as his body heat permeated the cold somewhat. She smirked as he stopped every now and then to let her "catch up" - was is possible that the little wolf who wanted to be alone was scared of getting separated from her?

She blinked rapidly as they walked straight into the wind. Her eyelashes were frozen together and didn't offer much protection for her eyes against the elements.

Her ears perked forward as he asked the question. She sniffed the air intently for several moments before replying. This way, pine trees. Hopefully the large trees with their prickly foilage would offer more protection than the deciduous trees, which had dropped all of their leaves.

Kimaria
With a nod of his pale head Gizmo quickened his pace as much as dared, raising his muzzle too catch a scent of the pine trees for himself. Yes, she was right and he hoped that they would offer protection from the harsh winter. He supposed that any shelter was better than none.

As the scent grew stronger in his sensitive nostrils he felt more and more excited about finding a place to rest and get warm. The bitterness of winter was forgotten and he gave a yip of excitement when the first of the pines came into view.

Your nose works good. Gizmo beamed at the female, tongue lolling from the side of his mouth.

Friday_Dora
Aeria smiled and ran past Gizmo to an especially large pine. She crawled under the lowest branches and turned in a circle before she lay down, sighing relievedly. The tree offered wonderful protection from the wind.

She poked her head out. Gizmo, are you coming?

Kimaria
Gizmo nodded and ran over to the tree she had selected and forced his small body into the branches, turning round and lying beside her. From here at least nothing could sneak up on them, and they had full view of the surrounding area.

The trees looked frightening with their claw like branches reaching out towards the sky, starved of sunshine and warmth. Gizmo took comfort in the fact that the tree they had found still held its calm dignity and was helping them in their peril.

For the moment the little pup felt safe, especially now that he wasn't alone in this cruel world.

Friday_Dora
Aeria yawned a tremendous puppy-yawn before lying her head on her paws. Something was making her very sleepy... Whether it was from the cold or the short trek she and the other pup had made she wasn't sure. She stared through the pine branches as clumps of snow fell from the other trees, making soft thumps as they hit the ground. Slowly, her eyes shifted over to Gizmo.

He too was looking at the trees, but he had a faraway look about him. She smiled and whined slightly to get the male pup's attention.

What are you thinking about? she asked.

Kimaria
Gizmo too had shifted slightly, glad to finally be able to rest his paws eyes still content on looking at the trees. Perhaps it was because these trees were bare of leaves that made them look so scary, or maybe this whole forest was under some sort of wintry curse.

The small whine snapped him from his thoughts and he turned his attention on his friend, listening intently as she spoke.

Trees...scary he lowered his own head upon his forepaws and moved so that their sides touched, such closeness did seem to help rid himself of the cold. Forest scary. He added as an after thought, not afraid to admit this to her.

Friday_Dora
Aeria moved and lay her head across Gizmo's back. They do look scary... She shivered slightly as she looked back outside at the naked, gnarled trees.

She half expected them to tear their roots out of the ground and come after the pups with their twisted arms. This thought made her even more nervous and she began whining.

I don't like this forest, she whispered. It was cold, it was creepy, and there weren't any other signs of life aside from her and Gizmo. It was spooky, to say the least. Where else would we go, though?

Kimaria
Gizmo closed his eyes briefly and sniffed at the wind, hoping to catch a scent of life but recieving nothing. With a sorry shake of his head he nuzzled at one of her paws, wishing he was bigger and stronger. At least then he could have protected her, but he was a runt and a scared one at that.

She needed a brave wolf to help take her to a nice, warm place and he knew he couldn't do that, but to say such things would upset her further and he didn't want to do that either.

With a small sigh he tried to calm his frantic mind, and blocked out the trees. I don't know. He phrased slowly, This place new and strange, he huffed and curled his tail tighter around him. my nose finds no one.

Otsune
Lera was not to far from where the young pups were. Young pups, heh, those weren't something she'd seen in a while. Blood dripped from her maw, a sign she she had devoured a fresh kill. Her stomach was satisated for the time being, and she moved about the woods with no particular destination.

The lands were slowly growing barren, which packs moving out, and Lera's emotions often reflected her melancholy side. She stopped in the snow and arched her head up towards the sky, letting out a melodic howl. Just then new presences appeared in her mind, ones that weren't familiar to her. She hurried in that direction, which was the directions of the pups.

Friday_Dora
I don't think there is anyone else... Aeria sighed and closed her eyes. For as long as she'd been in the forest she hadn't seen or smelled any other animals besides Gizmo. Maybe they were all hibernating? Or maybe something weird was going on in this part of the woods...

She whined again as the sinister thoughts entered her head again. Sometimes it was a curse for the little wolf to have such an active imagination.

Kimaria
Gizmo had to agree, he was tired and weary and just wanted to fall into a nice long sleep. Perhaps after that he would discover his courage and they would be able to journey onwards. He refused to believe that every living thing had left this forest.

With a small huff he closed his eyes and tried to sleep, the comfort of having the pup so close to him helping his muscles relax.

Otsune
Leradien quickly arrived to the pup's location, but kept herself hidden. Her pelt of ash blended in with the trees, her shadowy figure moving in silence. Her golden eyes pierced the air, staring towards the young ones. Her suspicions were correct, these ones were new, just a small little male and female, alone in the cold. Her maternal instincts kicked in as she instantly had a feeling of sadness and guilt, as if she herself was responsible for not finding these pups a place to stay, yes she refused these emotions, and kept herself in hiding. Yet she was upwind from the pups, and would have easily been able to smell her. She had done this on purpose, hoping to not suprise the pups out of the blue, but approach them slowly.

Friday_Dora
Aeria snuggled closer to Gizmo. The pup was so nice and warm... It had been a while since she'd been so close to another being, and it was nice. She felt safe, and contented. She was beginning to doze off when the sound reached her ears.

They instantly perked up while the rest of her small body froze with fear. The rustling of leaves, very near to them, accompanied by the scent of another wolf. She nudged her companion. Gizmo...

Kimaria
If Gizmo heard her he made no signs of it, the little pup gave a small whimper as a strange scent caught on his nostrils but fell into a deeper sleep. His eyes were shut tight and his tail was still curled firmly about him.

Dec. 14, Aeria and Lera

Otsune
Lera could feel tension hanging in the air. She felt the small pups' fears environ them; and she could hear their heartbeats. She took a few steps forward, revealing herself. She was quite a sight to see. Her body was lithe, hidden beneath a thick winter coat. She was much larger then the average female, easily equaling the size of a male. Her tail arched over her back, and her ears were foward. A frown was on her face as her golden eyes bore down upong the pups. "Are your feet cold, little ones?" She asked.

Friday_Dora
Aeria's eyes grew wide as she stared in shock at the large she-wolf. She stammered to say something, but could not articulate herself. Instead she nudged at Gizmo, but she was sound asleep.

The cub began to panic. She stood up and her upper lip peeled back to reveal gleaming white puppy teeth.

Otsune
Lera approched even closer her eyes never leaving the young she-pup. She stood fast befor eher, her limbs as solid as the trees of the forest. "Stop that!," she demanded in a strong voice. Her words were not filled with anger or hate and no matter how fierce her voice sounded her face and body emitted a calm feeling. "I am not here to hunt of chase you, little ones," she said, looking to the pups with a kind visage.

Friday_Dora
Aeria instantly pinned her ears back at the adult's words, and she tucked her tail between her legs. She stared up at the wolf as she came closer.

Who are you? she asked in a shaky voice. Even if this she-wolf's intentions weren't a threat, she was still a rather imposing figure.

Otsune
"My name is Leradien," she said calmy, sitting down and curling her tail around her paws only to regret it a few seconds later: the ground was cold. "And what is yours and you friend's?" she asked in return." Lera seeped into the young pup's mind with her knowing, digging for memories or feelings. What lera found was just cold and fear, all that occupied this pup's mind at the moment. "Are you cold?" she asked quietly and almost sympathetically.

Friday_Dora
I am Aeria, he is Gizmo, she said, nodding towards the sleeping he-pup. We're very cold, we came here for shelter, but it hasn't been much help... She drifted off as her small body gave another shudder.

Otsune
Lera listened patiently to the small and shivering pup. Suddenly the other sleeping pup, caleld Gizmo, awoke. He was obviously frightened and took off at once. Lera didn't really bother to chase after the pup, she could smell other adult wolves in the area, they would take care of him. After all, no wolf could resist a pup. She turned her attention back to the small puppy, watching her shiver, but if it was from the cold or fear: she couldn't tell. Without furthur questioning she bent over to the small pup, grasping the nape of the pup's neck gingerly in her mouth, and began to walk into the forest.

Friday_Dora
Aeria's eyes widened in shock as the large she-wolf picked her up. She began to panic as the female started walking with the nape of her neck carefully held in her mouth. She squirmed a bit at first, twisting her body around and around, but accomplished nothing aside from tiring herself even further.

With a small sigh she resigned herself to the fact that she was now completely at Lera's mercy. The other wolf did have a strange kindness about her, though, and the way she held Aeria reminded her of memories long forgotten, from when she was even smaller and more helpless.

Where are we going? she asked meekly.

Otsune
Lera held fast as the young pup moved about. She moved faster throuugh the woods and the snow, her paws spreading so that she wouldn't sink too deeply in it. She moved swiftly through the silent woods, avoiding snow flaiing from the trees. She listened as Aeria questioend about the destination, but Leradien could not anser, or else she would drop the frozen pup in the even colder snow.

She arrived at a large tree in a matter of minutes. As a pup, the journey would have taken her over twenty minutes, but now Lera's legs were long and powerful. The tree was mammoth, and very old. It's roots went deep into the ground, and it had almost reached the end of its days. Lera crouched down, crawling into a small (on an adult's scale) hole hidden under a root that rose above the ground. She crawled through a small passage which led into a meg larger chamber: her den.

Lera had not had a den for the majority of her life. She had made a small one as a pup, but she had long since outgrown that one. Over the past few weeks Lera had toiled away, digging into the frozen ground. She was quite proud of herself, for the den was warm, large, the walls smooth, for she had carefully exivated it. She placed Aeria down into a small bed of shedded few and grass. "My den," she said simply.

Friday_Dora
Aeria looked around her in awe. It was a real den! She nestled down in the bedding and sniffed it excitedly. It was so warm and comforting. She looked back to Lera and pinned her ears back against her head as she spoke.

Why did you bring me here? she asked. It seemed very strange to her that Lera should be kind to her, as she was only a scrawny little pup with no pack.

Otsune
Lera laid down, stretching out her legs, finding a comfortable spot. She watched Aeria's reaction to her den, and then to the bedding, smiling inwardly. Then, she asked a question. "I suppose...Well...I couldn't just leave you in the cold," she stated, rather frustrated because she couldn't come up with a better answer. It ws more of a compulsion to bring the pup into saftey, but she decided to change the subject before talking about that. "So, where do you come from..Aeria is it," she said.

Friday_Dora
Thank you, she says quietly. Mimicking the older female, Aeria stretches before lying down again with her head on her paws. Glancing over at Lera, she replies I don't really remember... I suppose I was part of a pack at some point in time, but something must have happened. I've been on my own since I was very young, scavenging on scraps of meat when I could find them. Sometimes I'd try to eat twigs and leaves, too... they're not very good, I don't suggest you try them.

Otsune
Lera nodded, recounting her days as a lost and wandering pup, and then tumbling down into this land. This pup reminded her very much of herself. She grinned as the pup told her to stay away from twigs and leaves. Lera got up, heading towards the exit of her den, "I suppose your starved then? I'll go find you some food, stay here and rest," she said, exiting the den.

About half an hour later She returned, shuffling down the entrances of the den, a large hare in her jaws. Hunting might have been scarce in these lands due to the seasons changing, but Lera had her powers, which made food easy find.

Friday_Dora
Aeria found herself drifting to sleep when Lera left. She slept soundly for the first time in a long while, if only for a short period of time, and when she awoke she saw Lera standing before her with food.

Her tail instantly wagged at the sight of Lera's kill. She sat down in front of the older wolf and watched her, or rather the hare, intently.

Otsune
Lera laid down the rabbit in front of Aeria before going back to her 'comfy spot.' Lera had previously eaten, and was not currently hungry., so she laid, and watched the pup eat. She had a warm feeling inside, and was thankful for the put, as she had placed it there.

She laid her head down, watching and resting.

Friday_Dora
Aeria stared at the bounty of food before her. She glanced up at Lera, unsure of what was going on. The hare was her kill, so she had first dibs on it, but she was offering it to the pup... Aeria's stomach was screaming at her, and eventually her hunger got the best of her and she began to eat.

She ate until she thought she might explode of rabbit meat. Licking the crimson off her muzzle, she walked over to Lera and lay down beside her. Thank you very much. she said. The gratitude was evident in her voice.

Otsune
The pup comming over to lay by her was an unexpected motion, but it made Leradien inwardly happy. She instinctivly curled herself around the small body, laying her head on her paws, giving a slight nod as she spoke. Lera began to drft into dream land~

Friday_Dora
Aeria snuggled closer to the large wolf. She felt warm, and happy, and surprisingly safe with the female. Briefly, the pup wondered if things were beginning to turn around for her. First she met Gizmo, then this kind wolf Lera... Her ears perked forward. Gizmo! She had forgotten all about him. Was he still asleep under the pine, alone and cold? Guilt swept over her as she lay comfortable and full with a belly full of delicious hare. Poor Gizmo...

Jan. 3, Reunited :O

Friday_Dora
The wolf pup's eyes drifted open, then squinted shut once again at the brightness. As she opened them once more, slowly as to adjust to the light, she found herself wondering at the situation. When had she fallen asleep? The last thing she remembered was devouring a hare that Lera had caught, and then curling up next to the larger she-wolf...

Lera! Aeria rose abruptly from the bedding, having noticed that the warmth of the other wolf was no longer there. Where had she gone? When had she gone? Just how long had Aeria been sleeping, anyhow? It was true that it had been the first time she'd gotten any real rest in quite some time; perhaps the fact that she was warm and full had made her sleep longer than intended.

She stretched her limbs before poking her head out of the entrance to Lera's den. The she-pup looked around, but no Lera in sight. She was going to have to look for her.

Kimaria
With a small huff, Gizmo opened his eyes with great difficulty, aware of the bodies of his pack members in the den. It was so warm and comfortable to lie there in such security, and to feel wanted. The sounds of peaceful breathing was also soothing to the ears and the pup yawned, rolling onto his stomach and pulling himself up onto his feet.

Stretching lazily Gizmo padded past the members of his pack and made his way up and out of the den. The sudden temperature change caused him to shiver violently and he spotted Gaara lying in the snow, looking somewhat asleep, or in deep thought.

Sitting back in the snow he regarded his surroundings warily, things had gotten a little tense lately, with the strangers entering the forest and new members joining.

Breathing in deep, his sensitive nostrils caught a scent, one that he never thought he would find on the breeze again. He leapt up onto his paws and turned in the direction, quivering with excitement.

Aeria... He breathed, for surely it could be no other.

Forgetting his promise to stay close to the den, the small and somewhat round pup leapt through the snow, tongue lolling from his mouth and ears drawn forward. A blast of snow caught him in the face, blurring his vision slightly, but her scent grew stronger and he knew she wasn't too far away.

As he ran he lifted his muzzle and gave a puppy howl, hoping wherever she was, she would hear it.

Friday_Dora
Aeria froze in her tracks. Her ears perked forward. Could it be...? The howling of another wolf, another young wolf to be more precise. And it sounded strangely familiar. Gizmo?

She lifted her head and howled back, a brief, piercing sound that ended quickly as she broke into a run towards the sound of the first howl. She had instantly forgotten all about her search for Lera, and now could only think about finding Gizmo once more. The pads of her feet collided quietly against the snow as she darted back and forth, looking for the other pup.

Kimaria
At her answering call, the pup paused in his tracks to listen. It did not last long in reality, but in Gizmo's mind the piercing note rang through his head and refused to leave.

It truly was Aeria!

Oh thank the moon that she was still alive! With a yip he bounded forwards once more, snow flying up beneath his paws as he continued relentlessly, not even the scary long-legs could keep him from finding her, not when he was so close.

The trees were nothing but a blur as he sped past and everything else was forgotten. She wasn't dead, she was alive and sounded fine! Yipping loudly he burst through the trees and skidded to a halt as he spotted the little female just ahead. The snow had blurred his vision, but he could never forget her, especially when she stood out from the snow as she did now.

His legs quivered slightly and he took a small step forward, unsure whether she would be upset with him for leaving or not. His tail twitched and started to wag slowly, and he pawed sheepishly at the ground.

Friday_Dora
Aeria started as a leggy bundle of fur came shooting through the trees, yipping excitedly at her. She stared at him for a second as the realization spread across her face. Gizmo!

Oh, Gizmo! Is that really you? She didn't wait for an answer to her question; of course it was Gizmo. He looked like Gizmo, smelled like Gizmo, sounded like Gizmo. Her tail began to wag rapidly, then her hindquarters, and soon her entire little body was shaking with excitement over being reunited with her friend.

Where were you? I was scared! I didn't think I'd see you again! Oh, she had so much to tell him, about Lera and the den and the rabbit, but her mind was so full of questions that her mouth wasn't working fast enough. She stood before him, eyes bright and ears forward, waiting for him to say something.

Kimaria
Gizmo's head was spinning with so many happy and excited thoughts, they were all rushing through his brain so fast that his mouth didn't work and he stared wide-eyed at the little female. She was just as he remembered, so happy and kind and...she was speaking to him! He shook his head dumbly to concentrate on her words, and noticed her own excitement.

She was happy to see him too!

With a small bounce, Gizmo trotted forwards, pausing a meter or so away from her and canting his head. It me, it you! Atleast his mouth had started to work again.

Lowering himself in a playful bow he glanced up at her with his golden eyes and gave a cheerful yip, wagging his tail fiercely. He wanted to tell her everything, explain his reasons for running off and the events that had led up to this meeting but all that came out was a jumbled and rather quickly spoken sentence. I scared, ran away, met other wolf, found Haku and pack, we not far.

She had been scared? Oh he would make sure never to leave her again, she would never have to feel scared with brave Gizmo around! I not leave you 'gain Aeria. He promised.

Then with an excited yip, he reared up slightly on his hind legs and batted at her playfully with outstretched forepaws.

Friday_Dora
You won't leave me again? She tilted her head thoughtfully. If Gizmo said he wasn't going to leave her, then he wouldn't. She trusted him, even though they'd only known each other a short while.

Aeria yipped playfully and leapt back at him, growling and snapping at him in jest. It was so nice to see him after what seemed like such a very long time.

A pack? Are you in a pack now, Gizmo? Normally she would have teased him about his wanting to be a 'lone wolf', but instead she opted to continue pouncing at him.

Kimaria
Nope, never again. Pups, need stick together. He nodded his muzzle and gave her a puppy smile as she began to play. He yipped back and bounded about on the snow, squeaky growls rumbling in his throat as he batted at her ears and nose with the pads of his paws.

At her question he paused in play, knowing that by joining a pack he had broken the promise he had made to himself to be a lone wolf, and had given her false information on their first encounter...well it hadn't been false at the time...

I met Haku...he kind wolf and not leave me 'lone in forest. Insisted Gizmo stay with him till find my paws. He grinned, tongue lolling from the side of his mouth. He gave a squeak as she pounced on him and they rolled in the snow, a blur of paws and tails.

One day I be lone, but pack need Gizmo...need Aeria too. He remembered his brother's worry about not having enough females in the pack, and he was sure to welcome his best friend in the whole world. Haku had promised him that they would find her...and now she was here they could finally be together again and not worry about danger.

Friday_Dora
Aeria yipped happily as they rolled and Gizmo spoke of Haku, the pack. The pack needs... me?

It was strange, the thought that anyone would ever need Aeria. She feared that the very reason she was on her own to begin with was because she wasn't wanted, wasn't needed by her own family. To think that another pack might need her made her happy.

Where is your pack? I would like to meet them, and Haku. She smiled, her puppy teeth shining, and swatted at Gizmo once more. Are they nearby?

If they were, then that would explain the foreign smells she had detected upon exiting the den. She blinked slowly, remembering the den and Lera.

Kimaria
There was a sweetness in her eyes that Gizmo noticed when she was thinking seriously, it was strange how the pup could tell many things just by looking at the eyes of another. Perhaps that is why he liked Aeria as soon as he saw her, she had such gentle, kind ones.

Pack need females, only two. All rest males. He listened to the rest of her words and nodded his muzzle Pack not far, pack very near. He yipped happily and reached over to touch noses with her in sign of affection.

Gizmo show you pack, we go now? He was desperate for the others to meet Aeria, especially Haku. For some reason it meant a lot to him that his pack brother approved of his friend, although he was sure he would. What wolf beneath the shining moon would not like her? To say the pup was happy would be an understatement.

Friday_Dora
Aeria nodded. Let's go! She would work on finding Lera later, or maybe the older female would find her. Things had a funny way of working out for the little wolf pup.

She watched Gizmo intently, waiting for him to lead the way to his pack, and quite possibly her new pack. She hoped they would accept her as one of their own, as they had Gizmo. This Haku, she assumed he was the alpha of the pack. Gizmo had certainly made some friends in high places while he'd been without her, it seemed.

Kimaria
Gizmo nodded, and got up onto his paws, shaking the snow from his fur and glancing at Aeria. I lead way. He nodded and began slowly off in the right direction, tail wagging constantly. Oh he had never been so happy in his whole entire life.

You like Haku, he strong wolf and hunter. He teach me many things, he teach Aeria too. Loping through the snow, he walked through the trees he had come to call "home" and remembered that soon their pack would be moving. He brother and alpha. Gizmo decided to fill her in on a few things before they arrived, plus it gave him something to talk about.

Carmen look scary, but she good wolf, me think she had hard life, but she likes puppies so she like you. He smirked, wondering what everyone would think of the new edition. There be Kamali too, he new pup and nice, but bit quiet.

Who had the pup missed? He couldn't remember who he had mentioned already and who he had left out, then a couple more names came to mind.

Gaara, he new pup too, though a bit mean. I think he join cos of Lera, she the big scary wolf we saw in the wood. She alpha female.

Friday_Dora
Aeria followed Haku through the trees and snow, staying as close to the other pup as possible without causing him to trip over her. Her tail wagged back and forth as he described the other wolves in the pack.

Haku sounded very kind. She assumed she would take an instant liking to him, as he had been so nice to Gizmo. It intrigued her that the pup called the alpha his "brother". Could it be that they were, in fact, related? She would find out once they arrived.

More pups, and another female. She would get along well with them. Aeria nearly skidded to a dead halt when she heard the name Lera escape Gizmo's lips, though.

Lera. She had a pack? And she was an alpha, no less? Lera... that was the name of the she-wolf who took care of me. She stared at Gizmo with wide, confused eyes. Is this the same Lera?

Kimaria
At Aeria's question the pup turned to look at her, a thoughtful look crossing his face. Lera big silvery wolf, very pretty but she got hurt somehow and recovering in den. You see soon enough. He moved his head and nuzzled the pup happily when a strange scent caught his nostrils.

He lowered his voice and crouched a little, pausing midstride, You smell that? He asked Aeria, creeping forwards on his belly and peering through the bushes. He couldn't believe his eyes!

It was the strange wolf who had threatened Haku just yesterday, and he was still here, so close to the den! Did he have a death wish?

Whimpering slightly he turned to Aeria, What we do?

Friday_Dora
She stared at Gizmo, then looked back to what she could only assume was an intruder from Gizmo's reaction. Aeria whined slightly, meeting his eyes once more.

Should we run? She felt a bit guilty for even suggesting that they put their own safety before that of Gizmo's pack, but she was getting nervous.

She nudged him slightly with her nose. Gizmo, you decide. It's your pack.

Kimaria
His hackles rose instinctively and he crouched lower, would it be selfish of him to want to put Aeria before his pack? Yet she was part of the pack even if Haku hadn't officially declared it so.

He gave a squeaky growl and snuffled the air somewhat loudly, where was Haku? and hadn't Gaara been lying in the snow as he had left the den? He smelt no fresh blood on the air but surely if Haku was nearby he would have pounced on that intruder instantly, not that Gizmo would allow it of course.

The wolf seemed to be falling unconscious, either that or too lost in grief and pain to notice much about him. Had Gaara really been so important to the adult that it would drive him to this? Drive him straight into the jaws of death?

His growl would transform into a whimper and his ears flattened sadly, he turned his eyes to Aeria and spoke quietly. He sad...harmless...we can't let brother, Carmen or Lera hurt him... He wasn't sure how the females would react to having him so close to their den.

Friday_Dora
Aeria's ears flattened backwards in response to Gizmo. What do you think is wrong with him? She wasn't sure why she was getting concerned about this wolf she didn't know. Perhaps she was too sensitive, too young to act otherwise.

She sat down and looked around. No immediate signs of the others her companion had mentioned, so she supposed the sad wolf would be safe for the time being. Nothing will happen to him, Gizmo. Don't worry, everything will be fine...

The pup was trying to convince herself just as much as she was him. This day just kept getting more and more interesting.

Kimaria
Not sure... Gizmo canted his head and sighed, breath misting around his muzzle. I think he lonely... He dipped his head a little and at Aeria's soothing words he would reach over and lick at her nose.

Aeria right...let's go see if someone wake. With this said he tentatively moved from the bushes, leaving a small gap in the plant so that access would be easier second time round.

Padding cautiously over he paused just in front of the motionless wolf, perhaps he was already gone...banished to the stars where he could rest and watch over them. Yet peering sternly Gizmo saw that the wolf was still very much alive, his sides moved a little with each breath and his whiskers would twitch every now and then.

Too scared to continue further he turned to check Aeria was okay before calling softly. Haku...Lera? He whined quietly and crept forward another pace...Carmen? were none of the adults around?

Friday_Dora
Aeria watched after Gizmo as he looked for adults from the pack. Her nose twitched slightly from where he had licked her... His small sign of affection had made her feel that much more comforted about the entire situation.

She heard him calling softly for the alphas, and then the other adult female he'd told her about. Her eyes followed him as his form became smaller, as he went further away from her. He'd promised he wouldn't leave her, and she held him to that.

Her gaze landed again on the still, dark form of the strange wolf. He didn't seem to be a threat to her or Gizmo, but something about his presence still made her uneasy. Whining, she lay down on the snow, tucking her tail between her legs.

Jan. 4, Meeting the Pack

lilwerewolfgirl
*Curled up near the back of the den the skeletal wolf looked out around the cave through her emerald colored eyes. She had now been a member of a pack for what felt like... weeks, even though she knew in reality it was only a week max. She liked the pack life, she just felt sometimes she would need to get away from it all. I guess it was just the lone wolf comming out of her. She'd been lone for so long that she completly forgot what it was like to be with a family, but to her it felt.. sort of good.*

*Turing her gaze towards the cave enterance she thought for sure she heard something. Something told her that she was being summoned. Standing up on her for-paws she gently raised herself into a standing position. When she started the walk it was at a slow one, but quickly the pace heightened. After a short amount of time the cold hard floor trned into a cold soft one of snow, from which she proceaded to think she heard a voice.* "Gizmo?" *She said questionatly, she wasnt to sure who it was... but she was taking a wild guess.*

Lethrossen
Kamali had been silently watching the cave from his small corner, and seeing Carmen leave he wimpered slightly, then rose and trotted out after her. It took him a bit of faster paced walking to catch up, but he did. "Where are you going Carmen?" then he heard Gizmo's name and his head tilted.

"Is Gizmo a'right?" His left ear flicked and his tail flicked to the side, before laying still.

Kimaria
Gizmo held back the reaction to yip in greeting as the skeletal wolf came into view, a dark shape against the whiteness of the snow. He wagged his tail fiercely to show he had seen her and indicated with a twist of his head that he wanted her to approach.

At hearing Aeria's whine he returned instantly to her side, nuzzling at her gently and moving to lay beside her, waiting for Carmen to arrive. He just hoped she wouldn't start a fight with the obviously broken wolf. This stranger's spirit had been shattered and it would not do to care for physical wounds as well as the emotinal ones.

No wolf could stand the strain of too much grief and pain at once. For legs can only carry so much weight.

Friday_Dora
Aeria sighed and leaned against Gizmo when he returned. Did you find anyone? It seemed he had perked up at the appearance of something, or perhaps someone.

She shivered a bit, the cold beginning to get to her after not moving for a short while. If, or when, they got to the den, the warmth would be most welcome.

lilwerewolfgirl
*Ear twitching in the direction of the voices Carmen heard the definate sound of Gizmo. Looking behind her she noticed that Kamali had followed her outside of the den. Giving a faint snort she nodded towards the green pup and indicated to where Gizmo laid. Padding closer towards them he not only noticed that another wolf was near Gizmo, but another wolfs scent was on the wind. Her hair on her back started the bristle slightly as she neared the pair.* "You know her Gizmo?" *She said this with a faint sound of harshness in her tone... but then again it couldnt be to harsh, she was a pup afterall. As she waited for the response she still lifted her nose into the air, their was definatly another wolf nearby, but was it a threat? She smelt the faint stench of fear... but who was it radiating from?*

Lethrossen
Kamali had cought the scent too, and his hackles had risen. It looked more or less like he was fluffier.. but hey ;D. He stayed close to Carmen, golden orbs flicking about, then spotted gizmo and the strange pup, and his tail gave a few wags.

Kimaria
He nodded thoughtfully at Aeria and turned his head as Carmen came into view, the minty pup Kam following behind.

This Aeria, she my friend. He told Carmen, not wanting there to be any misunderstanding. He turned his head to Aeria and pointed out the wolves in turn. She Carmen, little one Kamali.

He then turned to more serious matters, standing up beside Aeria and directing Carmen's gaze to the wolf laying close to the den. Still he hadn't moved and it was a little scary to think that such a large and powerful male was acting like a little lost pup. You know him? He asked of Carmen cautiously.

Friday_Dora
Aeria looked at the new wolves and nodded as Gizmo introduced them. The older female had most unusual markings. When she had first spotted her, Aeria's first thought was that someone had turned the wolf inside-out and then sent her on her way. Her imagination was obviously running off with her, again.

The male pup was a lovely light-green color, and the word "minty" came to mind. She wasn't sure where she had heard it, but it seemed to describe him well.

She stood as Gizmo did, still watching the two new wolves.

Lethrossen
He stared at the female for a moment, realizing this was probably Gizmos friend, and looked away, up to Carmen. Then his eyes slowly traveled to where Giz had indicated, and he took a few steps foward to peer around carmen.

Kouseki
The dark male sniffed the ground, still keeping watch. There was a new female near the den, and he snorted lightly, moving over to plop down next to Carmen, a small smile on his face, not really acting alpha like at that moment.

"Hey, brother." Bowing his head lightly, he would look the female over, "Who's she, now? Or by chance is that.. Aeria?"

lilwerewolfgirl
* Looking around she noticed that alot of weird scents where in the air... as well as Haku had approached. Looking to him she sent a small nod and then looked back to the pups.* "Haku... their is a few weird scents in the air. We would take the pups back to the den and see whats around here." *Carmens ears folded back against her head as she said so, as well as her fur bristled up. Carmen knew it was a male wolf in the area.. as well as a female. Though she wasnt sure if she was the only one around that could smell them.*

Kimaria
Gizmo yipped and nuzzled his brother cheerfully from where he stood by Aeria's side. Haku, this be Aeria. He yipped, momentarily forgetting all tension in the pack. He turned to nuzzle at her before speaking again. This brother Haku, he good, strong wolf. He wagged his tail and then turned to face Carmen.

The female was right, and it seemed Aeria was starting to feel the cold, just as he was. Nudging his friend lightly he would cant his head and point his muzzle in the direction of the den. We go to den now? He questioned, waiting for introductions to be completed.

Lethrossen
Kamali's tail gave a few more thumps as he spotted the leader, and he listened to Carmen with rapt attention, still silent.

Little quiet kam kam.

Friday_Dora
Aeria's tail wagged slightly as she was introduced to the pack's leader. Hello, Gizmo has told me lots about you.

She nodded to Gizmo. If it is alright with the other pack members... for me to go into the den, that is. She did not want to wear out her welcome with the group too quickly, and waited for permission to approach the den.

Kouseki
The aplha nodded slightly to Carmen, then looked Aeria over. "Of course you can come in the den." Smiling, he would nod a bit before walking into the den himself. Yes, they had many eneimies, and he hated that. But, what could you do about it?

Licking Gizmo's forehead softly, he would sigh. "Aeria, are you a member of a pack yet?" He asked, rather curiuos. He was hoping what Gizmo had sad about him was good, I mean, he knew he wasn't the best, but he was all right. o.o; Smiling, he would pick up Kamail and drop him in the den, then move back to his laying spot.

Friday_Dora
The pup smiled at Haku. Thank you. No, I am not a member of a pack. She thought once more about how Gizmo had said that this particular pack needed more females as she watched the alpha male head into the den.

She looked over at Gizmo and nudged him gently. Okay, let's go.

Lethrossen
Kamali was dropped on his rump into the den with a little 'omph' noise and he shifted, sneezing. He watched Haku go and waited for Gizmo and aeria to come was well. He stood and shook, yawning. He was feeling restlless.

lilwerewolfgirl
*Still looking where she thought she pin pointed the male she could smell, she quickly shrugged and calmed down. If the alpha wasnt worried about it.. then she shouldnt be. then again she wasnt to sure. So she still kept her guard up. Looking at the pups she waited for them to leave before she followed. She would be the last to go into the den.*

((Okay, so now the pups are in the den...))
Lethrossen
Kamali had decided it was not easy being a pup that was quiet. It ment less playing with other pups and more time by himself. The result? Bordom. He glanced over to where he figured Gizmo and Aeria were, and whined slightly, almost silently to himself.

Probably both asleep. Not that it mattered.

Friday_Dora
Aeria lifted her head from her lying position at the sound of a very faint whine. It was coming from Kamali.

Her ears perked forward almost imperceptibly and she stared at him silently for a moment before being bold enough to speak. Um.. hello. Kamali, right?

Lethrossen

He glanced over, and his tail thumped against the ground a couple of times before falling still. "Yes, I'm Kamali." it was probably hard to hear, he realized, since he was so quiet. He took a few steps closer to her and sat, watching. "And you're Aeria" he said, showing that he also didnt forget.

Friday_Dora
She nodded, smiling slightly. Her puppy teeth gleamed bright white in the dark of the den. Yes, I'm Aeria.

She sat up and scratched absently at her ear before speaking again. So, is this a good pack to be in? She wasn't entirely sure what to talk about with the other pup.

Lethrossen
That was an odd question. He shrugged lightly. "Im not sure. I think so.. I'm new myself.." he points out. "I do like the other wolves here.." except that gaara scared him, he didnt mention that.

He shrugged again, tail flicking around his petite frame. "And I haven't seen any other packs.. so yeah this one is pretty good.." he nodded. "It's new, to my knowledge."

He, also, did not know what to chat about. He was ackward in the social situation.

Friday_Dora
I haven't seen any other packs, either... Actually, you're one of the first wolves I've seen at all, besides Gizmo and Lera. She sighed, remembering how lonely she had been wandering the woods alone. It was nice to be among others of her own kind.

Lethrossen
His eyes widened a little. "Really? Gizmo and Haku were one of the two wolves i'd seen after my pack... er.. After I left my pack..." his voice trailed slightly and he shrugged.

"Actually it turns out some how i made Gizmo rather angry-seeming.." looks a little sheepish now.

Friday_Dora
Aeria tilted her head in confusion at Kamali's admission. Gizmo was mad at you? I can't imagine Gizmo being mad at anyone... Her eyes drifted to the male pup sleeping at her side. It must have been a mistake. He's a very nice wolf, really.

She sounded a bit sheepish in her defense of her friend, as though she wasn't entirely sure why she was so certain that Gizmo was such a good wolf. After all, they really hadn't known each other all that long.

Lethrossen
He gave a brief smile "Ah, maybe not angry, perhaps confused." He shrugged lightly, also glancing at Gizmo. "Yes he seems very nice, and things between us are better.. so no worries.." his left ear flicked and he shifted the weight on his paws.

After another moment Kamali smiled "I've heard a little about you. Well, slightly. Haku seems to think Gizmo thinks very highly of you.." nodded.

Friday_Dora
The pup blinks several times. Gizmo thinks highly of me? It made sense, she supposed. She thought highly of him as well; he was her first friend, and her best friend, and he had promised to never leave her. She was still thinking about that, and about how happy he had been to find her again.

Her tail began to wag slightly. Maybe we'll all be friends, now that you and Gizmo are getting along?

Lethrossen
He blinked, then gave her a small smile, tail giving a few thumps on the ground as well. "Yes, you, Gizmo and I. I'd like that." He'd need to start making friends, this was true.

Considuring the only friend he'd made Haku decided was a back staber. Kamali wasn't sure he DIDNT agree with Haku.

Friday_Dora
She smiled again, then yawned. Why was she so tired, after taking that long nap at Lera's? Aeria lay back down next to Gizmo, her chocolatey eyes still on the mint-colored wolf.

Aren't you tired, too? It only made sense to her that all the pups should sleep at once. There were adults to keep watch over them, after all.

Jan. 6, Play time!

Kimaria
Gizmo stretched, he had slept a long time, but his sleep had been haunted with images of his parents...his siblings...refusing to leave him alone. They had occured ever since Sable had given him that news, the news he still didn't accept.

Yawning loudly he would clip his teeth together as it came to an end then stretch lazily. Standing up on his paws he shook his fur vigoroulsy before looking about him, it seemed others had woken up earlier than himself - which wasn't surprising.

Sitting back down at the base of the den he would lean forwards on one paw, lifting the other hind leg to scratch behind one ear, eyes closed as the itch was seen to. With a shake of his head he would give a small sneeze.

His stomach grumbled...

Friday_Dora
Aeria opened one eye, noticing the movements of the pup who had been previously asleep at her side. She lifted her head and tilted it to one side as she watched Gizmo.

Kimaria
Sensing movement Gizmo swivelled his head round, ears drawn forward and eyes settling upon the female pup. His heart gave a sudden flip and he barked a greeting. So it hadn't been a dream! Aeria really was here.

In his excitement he batted at her ear with a paw and pounced on her, rolling over her shoulders and landing on the ground beside her.

Glancing up sheepishly, he opened his jaws slightly, pink tongue lolling from his mouth. Hello!

Friday_Dora
The female pup rolled onto one side lazily, smiling at Gizmo. Hi Gizmo! She reached over with one paw and playfully swatted at his face.

It was nice being with Gizmo again, especially in such a safe setting. She vaguely remembered the two of them huddled together in the forest, surrounded by the terrifying skeletons of trees. It seemed like it had all happened so very long ago...

Lethrossen
Kamali stumbled a few steps foward with a small yip, then glanced to watch Lera head out. He then looked back to Gizmo and Aeria, but waited to approach the two.

Kimaria
The pup yawned again, smiling up at Aeria. Atleast now he could finally relax and not have to worry about anything, she seemed to have a calming effect on him that no other wolf had.

Also at the mention of hunting, Gizmo's ears would draw forward, waiting to see what was going to happen. He was ravenous!

You hungry Aeria? He asked, turning to her with golden eyes.

Friday_Dora
Aeria nodded. She remembered the rabbit that Lera had caught for her and unconsciously licked her lips at the thought of devouring the tender meat.

Are you hungry, too? It was a silly question, as she had heard his stomach grumble rather loudly just moments before.

Kimaria
Gizmo nodded his muzzle and got to his paws, shaking his fur once more. I real hungry. He beamed down at her and then turned his eyes to Kamali with a questioning look. Hello Kam-Kam! he wagged his tail and bounded over to the pup, forgetting his shy nature and buffeting at him with the flat of his skull.

You play? He asked, directing the question to both pups.

Lethrossen
Kamali blinked in surprise and backed up worriedly, forgetting that Gizmo was just playing. aww cute. Then he heard his words and looked a little calmer. His tail gave a flick and something of a smile came upon his mug. "Play what?"

Friday_Dora
She rose to her feet and trotted several paces to where Gizmo and Kamali were. Aeria smiled slightly, her small pink tongue peeking out from behind her tiny teeth. I'll play too!

Aeria sat down next to the male pups, wagging her tail as she waited for them to decide what they were going to play.

Kimaria
Gizmo's nose twitched in thought and he tilted his head slightly. How bout tag? He wagged his tail happily and nipped at Aeria's ear, crouching in a play bow.

Yes? He asked, wanting to make sure this game suited all, he was sure he could come up with something else if there was a disagreement.

Lethrossen
Kamali wondered if he'd be any good at the game. Mostly he'd just play fight with his brothers and sister, and other litter mates. He winced at the memory and let it seep away.

His tail gave a few small wags. "Alright, who's it?" he'd known the general idea of the game, he'd just never played it.

Friday_Dora
Aeria yipped playfully as Gizmo's teeth grazed her ear, and she reared up on her back legs in an attempt to pounce on him.

Tag sounds fun! She landed inches away from the other pup, quickly bouncing back up to n** at his muzzle.

Kimaria
Gizmo gave a small yip and leapt backwards as she tried to pounce on him. This game would be fun!

Dashing in a small circle he bounced in the air and tilted his nose to the entrance of the den. I be it first, give pups chance to run. He settled down on the floor of the den and waited for them to get ready before giving chase, it was only fair after all.

Friday_Dora
Aeria bolted for the exit of the den, coming to a sudden halt when her paws hit the snow. What was it she was supposed to do again? Run and Gizmo would tag her?

That seemed right. She took off once more, zig-zagging among the trees as she waited for the other two to catch up with her.

Lethrossen
He squeaked and bounded for the exit, tail flashing back and forth. His small tounge lolled from his mouth, as he gazed for a spot to make a 'get-a-way',

Kimaria

Gizmo trembled with excitement, he hadn't played this game for a long long time, and even when he had, it had been with his siblings who insisted on mocking him for his lack of speed and strength.

No...none of that mattered now, he was free from them!

He listened intently until their footsteps began to fade, before making a dash to the den entrance, throwing back his head and giving a puppy-howl as a sign that he had begun his "hunt".

Snuffling around he would let his eyes dart from tree to tree, picking up the two pups' scents easily. Yet which one to follow? Surely Aeria would be easier to spot in the snow.

He began at a slow trot, trying to decide who to go after first...Aeria or Kam...Aeria or Kam...

With a small yip - breath misting - he darted after the female, following her tracks in the snow and her scent that hung in the air.

Friday_Dora
She heard Gizmo's howl and began to run even faster. As Aeria loped over the snow-covered ground, she would occaisionally throw a glance over one shoulder to make sure Gizmo wasn't gaining on her.

It almost felt like she was the prey, and he was the predator. She imagined herself as a lightning-fast doe, evading the wolf who was attempting to capture her. She grinned as the imagery filled her mind, the life and death matters turning into a game.

His scent was growing closer, and she could hear his paws as they raced after her. Aeria went into overdrive, kicking up snow as she broke into a sprint.

Kimaria
Thump...thump...thump... the blood was pounding in his ears so loud he could barely hear anything at all and his heart was racing in his deep, pale chest.

His legs had grown strong, and he felt as if he could run forever, crossing the forest in a breath and seeing sights that he could hardly imagine. He wanted to howl and yip, he wanted to express his sheer joy in running but was afraid that he would warn Aeria of how close he was getting.

Snuffling at the air as he ran, ignoring the cold snow as it filled his nostrils the scent of water filled the air. Would she be going to the pond? If so then perhaps he did have a chance of catching her. With a small yip he bounded from the main path, bursting into the shrubbery and sprinting on. He would definately need a drink after this was over with.

Ignoring the ravenous complaints in his stomach he continued, holding head slightly lower, eyes narrowed to slits as he forced his way through the bushes. If he had run fast enough then hopefully he could cut her off before she reached the pond and take her by surprise. Oh he hoped he was correct, if not then he would search properly and track her by scent rather than instinct.

Lethrossen
Kamali had run a bit, but when he heard Gizmo's starting howl he figured he was safe, since it was a bit away. He did not know much of this reigon, and was generally just exploring, nose to the ground and ears up, making sure he would not be taken unaware.

Friday_Dora

Aeria slowed a bit as a small body of water came into view. There was snow covering part of it, so she assumed it had perhaps frozen over. She trotted closer and set one paw on the surface to test it.

It seemed to be solid. She walked forward, looking around for Gizmo. She would be more vulnerable while on the pond, since there was no foilage to give her cover, but she thought perhaps she could cut across and then continue to run once she was on the other side.

Suddenly she felt the ice begin to shift under her paws. She stared down at the surface as it broke apart slightly, and when she turned to run one of her back legs fell through. She yelped loudly as the water made contact with her skin.

Cold! She pulled her leg free and headed back the way she had come, stopping once she was on solid ground once more. That had been a bad idea, she thought to herself.

Kimaria
A splitting, creaking noise caught at Gizmo's white ears as he neared the pond, the scent of icy water overpowering his nostrils as he loped on. The strange sound was followed by a splash and Gizmo's ears perked up at the unexpected sound.

With a burst of speed he appeared from the bushes and spotted a rather strange looking Aeria. He gave a small whimper, and dashed over to her, leaping with a height he didn't know was possible and knocking into her.

You wet! You cold! He yelped, untangling his limbs and staring at her in confused shock. How had she gotten so wet?

Friday_Dora
Aeria yelped again as Gizmo came falling from the sky and landed on her. She quickly went to the task of licking herself dry from the freezing water.

I tried to cross the pond, but then I started to fall in... She looked back up at him, her ears both going in different directions and her eyes wide and startled. She was the vision of a frazzled wolf pup who had just gotten herself into trouble.

Kimaria

Ice slippery...ice tricksy. Gizmo nodded, moving to her side and licking at her shoulder, nuzzling his nose into her wet fur.

After a moment or two he bounced back and gave another howl - a signal that someone had been tagged. Then leaning forwards slightly, he would grin at Aeria, shining golden eyes looking at her mischieviously.

You it! Then with an excited yip he turned tail and fled as fast as he could, wondering if Kam-Kam was somewhere nearby or hiding in some secret spot.

Friday_Dora

You tricked me! Aeria quickly got to her feet and began to chase Gizmo. He was a clever little pup, coming to find her under the pretense of actually being worried that she'd fallen into the pond...

She gave a small howl as she bounded after him, one limb still rather damp and cold.

Kimaria
Gizmo slowed his pace, deciding to wait for her to catch up a little, his path leading him back to the den. He knew it probably wasn't very safe to stray too far, but sometimes the pup in him wanted to disregard the dangers and have fun.

Right now was one of those times.

Spinning on his paw he would turn to face Aeria who had been persuing him and danced about her, frolicking happily in the snow and yipping a challenge. No pup could catch fast and intelligent Gizmo!

Catch! Catch! He squeaked, wagging his tail frantically and bounding in the snow, small yips erupting from his muzzle.

Kam was missing out on all the fun!

Friday_Dora
I'm gonna get you, Gizmo! Aeria yipped as the male pup teased her. She leapt through the snow, a flurry of paws and fur in hot pursuit of her game. Now Aeria was the huntress and Gizmo was the poor little critter being chased.

Her tongue was hanging from her mouth as her speed declined to a hasty trot. She was beginning to tire a bit, but she wouldn't give up until she had captured the elusive white and tan pup.

One final burst of speed nearly caught her up to him, and she growled in fake ferocity as she nipped after Gizmo.

Kimaria
Gizmo gave a squeak of sheer joy at her challenge and dashed around once more before turning back towards the den, Haku's scent caught at his nose but he chose to ignore it for now, nothing mattered other than Aeria, especially now that she was catching up.

He too was beginning to feel the strain of running for such a long amount of time and had begun to slow.

He could hear the thrum of his own paws, and Aeria's as they struck the snow beneath them and knew she was going to get him. He gave a round of yips as he felt her n** at his heels.

He burst through the bushes and into the den area, eyes drawn to Haku who was curled up at the entrance. In that moment of distraction Gizmo made his mistake, tripping over a small rock and tumbling head over heels. He was done for!

Friday_Dora
As Aeria rounded the bushes near the den she saw that she had gained the upper paw. Gizmo lay prone on the ground, helpless as she advanced upon him.

The pup narrowed her eyes as she crept ever-closer, pinning her ears backwards and curling her lip slightly. He could not escape the powerful she-wolf as she made her final move and pounced on him...

Tumbling on top of Gizmo, Aeria began to laugh in small yips, pawing at her friend and licking his face. That was fun! Let's do it again!

Kimaria
Squeaking cheerfully the rather rolly-polly pup nipped and batted at Aeria happily, she was clever and fast! She was a good wolf indeed.

He allowed himself to roll over, legs tangled with hers as they played in the snow, his tail beating a soft rhythm on the soft surface. Sitting up he would lick her nose and nudge at her shoulder before dashing to hide behind the large black wolf.

Hello brother. He greeted breathlessly, scrambling up to lay draped over the alpha's shoulders and peer at Aeria with a wide smirk. Play! We play! It seemed he had forgotten his empty stomach...for now atleast.

Kouseki
Haku rasied his eyebrow for a moment, before fliping the pup around and pinning him in the snow. With a small bark, he would nuzzle the pup playfully. "You two are cute together, you know that?" He would tease, his smirk never fading. With a slight yawn, he would look over Aeria.

"You seem very trust worthy." Giving her a slight not, he would kick some snow into the air and try to catch it in his mouth. Why shouldn;t he be able to act like a pup sometimes? Growling at the snow, he would kcik it up again, then trying to snap at the air.

Friday_Dora
Aeria grinned at Gizmo and turned her head to gaze at Haku. She seemed to perk up a bit at his words. Thank you, Haku.

It amazed her how he could be an alpha and still seem so warm, so inviting. He was unlike other adult males she had known. Haku was playful and gentle with Gizmo; Gizmo had even called him "brother". He was special, indeed.

Kimaria
Gizmo would look a little confused, they looked cute together? Why didn't he look cute alone? With a small shrug he would wriggle out from the alpha's grip and bound over to Aeria

Aeria be trustworthy! Aeria good wolf! He yipped, wagging his tail in the snow and pressing his nose into the cold white flakes. Winter was quite fun even if it was cold.

Kouseki
Gizmo was SO cute. The alpha male nodded his head lightly. Yes, he was mean when he had to be, stood up for his pack when needed... But other than that, especailly around pups, he was a sucker. They were so cute, and he had a huge soft spot for them.

Most Gizmo.. He just wanted whatever was best for him. Spelling the faint scent of blood, he hoped it was a catch by Lera and Carmen, and not another issue to ruin this lovely day. Nothing seemed to go wrong. The huntresses out hunting, the pups at play...

Kimaria
Gizmo had never been happier, it seemed that pack-life held many more advantages than he had ever believed. He did not even consider that there might be wolves like Haku and Aeria out in the forest.

Constantly wagging his tail he touched noses gently with the female and dashed over to his brother, buffeting him on the shoulder with his head and standing up on hind legs to lick at his dark muzzle.

Now that the excitement of play had died down a little, the feeling of hunger crawled back to his stomach and he turned to glance at Kam who trotted past the alpha. Where Kam-Kam going? He yipped questioningly.

Friday_Dora
Wagging her tail, Aeria walked to the entrance of the den and lay down by it. She absently wondered how the older females were doing on their hunt, and what sort of food they would bring back.

She hadn't done much hunting, and certainly none with big game, but she was curious and eager to learn. She would have to ask them all about it once they returned.

Lethrossen
Kamali halted and glanced to Gizmo, giving him an expression of contentment. "Just into the den.." he regarded the three and shrugged lightly. he was not much of a playful pup.

Kimaria
Nodding briefly he would lay beside Haku, stretched out in the snow and panting, tongue hanging from his mouth and small bottom teeth showing in his jaws.

Snuggling against the darker wolf he yawned wide, the action ending in a small whine as he lowered his muzzle and licked his paws, not being able to sit still for a second. The sleep had filled him with energy and the thought of food on the way only made him more restless.

Lethrossen
Kam slipped to his corner, curling into a ball and shutting his eyes. His tail curled around him, ears were perked atop his head. He slightly zoned out, not really thinking about anything or listening to anything either.

Kouseki
Haku looked over the lands, then over each one of the pups. The full scent off blood was filling his nose. With a small yawn, he would part his maw slightly. This was what he wanted for the pack, he wanted them all be happy. Yawning again, he would sit back down. There where so many pups now, and if he had pups with Lera any time soon, there would be even more. But Gaara and Lexi were a bit older than the rest, and they Carmen to help as well.

Kimaria
Giving a small whine Gizmo got back onto his paws and paced the snow, kicking it up with his front paws and snapping at it. Sometimes great clumps would fall from the trees and he would jump up to catch the numbing stuff in his jaws, but today it held it's place in the branches, not wanting to be eaten.

With a sigh Gizmo flopped onto the snow and rolled over onto his back, wriggling in the white blanket, sneezing as the cold flakes got into his nose.

Jan. 26, Aeria and Gizmo

Kimaria
Gizmo had been in a half daze ever since he had been brought into the den, the sudden change of temperature making his brain feel somewhat giddy.

Opening his eyes he peered around the den, aware of all the bodies lying all amongst it. His eyes picked out White-eye and his tail wagged, the sound of it's thud sounded strangely noisy.

Moving his aching legs he lowered his muzzle to wash his paws and any other fur he could reach, he was a state, fur still damp from the snow and drying in a rather tangled mess.

As far as he was concerned, all the other wolves were snoozing, and he was content to sit and enjoy the peace, tending to his fur with considerable care for the young, male pup.

Friday_Dora
Aeria blinked several times in an attempt to shake off the sleepiness that was looming over her. It was hard not to be sleepy in the den, with all the other pups. The warmth from their bodies comforted her, even though she wasn't right up against them.

From her spot in the corner she could see the other wolves quite well. It was amazing how the pack had grown since she had joined, mostly due to Lera's litter. The new puppies were growing fast and becoming more active with every passing day, she observed.

It was strange living in the pack. A nice sort of strange, but still a big change from her previous lifestyle of wandering the woods alone. And to think, if she hadn't stumbled upon Gizmo none of this would have happened... Aeria glanced over at the male pup before yawning.

Kimaria
Gizmo sensed movement from somewhere behind him and swivveled back his large ears to pinpoint the location. After a moment he turned his head, blinking his eyes and peering through the darkness, trying his best to ignore the raging storm outside.

He was extremely happy to find the source of the noise was Aeria and got up slowly, whining a little at the strain on his legs. It seemed all that exercise and trudging against the fierce winds had strained his muscles, some of which he was never aware he had.

To be simple, the pup ached everywhere, and this was clear in his movements as he padded over to Aeria and gently eased himself to the ground beside her.

Reaching over he nudged at her cheek with his pink nose, surprised at how warm she felt. You not sleep? He questioned, not quite sure what else to say.

Friday_Dora
Aeria shook her head, rolling onto her side and looking up at Gizmo. I can't sleep, I... She blinked again, unsure of how to tell Gizmo that she was afraid of storms.

It's too loud to sleep, she said finally. Every sound from outside echoed loudly in her little skull, and it was certainly distracting when she wanted to nap.

She moved her head slightly and nudged at her friend. You can't sleep either?

Kimaria
Gizmo gave a wolfish smile, watching the female rolling onto her side, and nudged at her stomach with his nose. He supposed that the storm was pretty loud, somehow his ears kept blocking out the sound for him so that he didn't notice it so much.

Sighing he moved to lick at his paw again before replying to her, it seemed like they hadn't spoken for a very long time.

Me ache, no sleep for Gizmo. He stretched slightly, eyes closing as he yawned.

Friday_Dora
Aeria watched Gizmo with sympathetic eyes. Stretching is good for aches, I think she said as he closed his eyes.

She didn't want Gizmo to hurt, he was her friend and as far as she was concerned none of her friends should ever have to hurt. With a small sigh she closed her eyes as well.

Kimaria
Gizmo shifted, golden eyes sparkling at Aeria's words, she was so wise for one who could be no older than himself.

He moved closer to her, crossing his forepaws and shaking his head to ruffle his fur. So... He began, closing his eyes briefly as he tried to think of what esle to say. You like new home? He blinked and scolded himself mentally, they had only been here a few days and already they had been hit with a scary blinding whiteness.

He doubted anyone was too fond of this place, but he had to admit that he himself had rather enjoyed it. He had been sceptical at first, but it had given him adventure. He had met a new pup, made friends with a two-legs and braved a storm.

It adventure here. He yipped quietly, eyes falling to the entrance of the den, shuddering as he thought of the bitter coldness that awaited them outside.

Friday_Dora
Aeria thought for a moment. Yes, I suppose I like it here. I'm with you, and the pack. She would like being anywhere so long as she was with her new family. Knowing that she had a sort of family gave the female pup more confidence.

You've had lots of adventures, haven't you? Aeria sat up to scratch her ear as she thought of all the things Gizmo must have seen.

She, for the most part, had been enjoying all of the sleep she could now get with the security of the pack. Still, she longed for a bit of excitement. Hopefully it would come in time.

Kimaria
Gizmo nodded cheerfully, he was glad that Aeria was happy here, despite the bad weather. He supposed it would take more than a bit of snow to dampen her pleasant manner. That was one of the main reasons he liked her so much, she was always so cheerful and kind.

At her next statement he wagged his tail, standing up briefly to shake his fur, wanting to rid it of the dampness. This place new, lots of scents, lots of places. He beamed happily at her, remembering what he had seen over the past few days. He turned to point his slender muzzle at the two-legs and gave a low whuff, wondering why Gaara had brought him here. Did the creature not have his own den? Shaking his head to return his attention to Aeria he continued:

Soon as cold whiteness leaves air, we go see new things together? He asked, wondering whether she wanted an adventure of her own. Yes they were still young, but hardly the little helpless balls of fur they had been when they first met, he felt pretty sure he could get them out of any situation.

It seemed that perhaps little Gizmo was discovering his courage.

Friday_Dora
Aeria smiled and nodded. We'll see lots of things... and maybe we can even hunt? Her tail wagged slightly as she imagined herself and Gizmo chasing prey through the white powder.

Her legs were aching for a good run. When the storm was over she was going to need to get out of the den and check out the new territory.

Kimaria
Gizmo licked at his nose, drawing his ears forward and letting his eyes once again fall onto the entrance. He wished the storm would hurry up and leave them alone so that they could go and explore. It was the thing in life that really made him feel like he was a proper wolf, especially when hunting or tracking a new scent.

Furries live all round, we hunt them. Gizmo agreed cheerfully. He also craved to improve his skills to become a fine hunter, then one day when he was old enough he could help bring down prey to feed his family.

Family...yes he had finally learned why pack life could be so wonderful, he had friends a nice den and could help protect them. A pack gave his life meaning and he wanted to make sure it remained.

Friday_Dora
The pup unconciously licked her lips at the thought of "furries". How she would love to bound after some small, fast creature and bring it down.

I bet you would be a good hunter Gizmo, you run fast. She grinned, remembering that time they had played tag. He was a quick pup, and he'd probably be even faster when he grew up.

When he grew up. There was an odd thought. They would all grow up someday. She glanced at Lera, wondering if she would be half as good a wolf as their alpha was.

Kimaria
If it was possible for a wolf to blush, Gizmo would have. It was a strange feeling indeed to feel his skin heat up as if bathing under the sun at midday. He had felt this only once before, when Haku had mentioned "Girlfriends" and pawed sheepishly at the ground, not too sure what to say or do.

The pup twitched his ears with thought, glancing around at the other wolves before padding over and pressing his nose against Aeria's shoulder. Aeria run fast too. He said voice slightly muffled, for he too was thinking back to that time when they had played tag.

She had looked so cute, soaking wet and trembling with cold after falling into the pond. Wait...cute? There was that word again, and he wasn't sure whether it was a correct term for the rapidly growing female.

He had not noticed before, but he could already tell that she was going to grow into a rather stunning female indeed. It was strange, for Gizmo had never had these sorts of admiring thoughts about females before. These emotions confused him greatly.

Friday_Dora
Aeria's tail began to wag faster as Gizmo nudged her shoulder. She nudged him back and nipped playfully at his muzzle. We'll run again sometime, okay?

The playfullness left her quickly as she noticed that Gizmo seemed to be deep in thought. The pup lay down again and yawned once more. Even thinking about playing tag was making her sleepy for some reason.. she absently noted that while talking to Gizmo, she had not once started at the loud winds as they blew past the den.

Odd, she thought to herself. Could it be that she was just distracted, or maybe she felt safer around the male pup? Whatever the reason, she was feeling very peaceful now.

Kimaria
Gizmo snapped from his thoughts, tilting his head in Aeria's direction hoping that he hadn't missed anything. He gave another loud yawn, letting his eyes close for a brief moment, and beating out a rhythm on the ground with his tail.

Noting that she had moved to lay down he did the same, his side pressed against hers as he lowered his muzzle to his paws, peering across the den through half-lidded eyes.

The trembling of his body ceased, sharing warmth with that of his dearest friend. There was a strange weight on his eyelids keeping him from staying awake and he found it almost impossible to fight.

I sleepy now. He muttered, curling his tail around him as he covered his nose with both front paws. It wasn't long before the pup had fallen into a deep sleep, dreams touching his mind pleasantly and keeping him quite content.

Feb. 2, Storm's Over!

Kouseki
The alpha came back and dropped a piece of the baby deer before the mint pup. "You all can leave now, just watch out for fallen trees and such," Moving out again, he would lick his lips. He took his little walk to the river, and used his old trick to get water. Shoveling the snow off the ice with his nose, he would sneeze. Pressing on the ice with his paw, he would crack the ice and lap at it. Mmmm.. water.

Friday_Dora
Aeria lifted her head ever so slightly, careful not to disturb Gizmo. She watched the pack's alpha deposit some food near Kamali and suppressed a hungry whine. She and Gizmo still had to go on that hunt sometime.

Turning her attention back to the mint-green pup, she spoke to him in a hushed tone. Is the storm over, Kam?

Lethrossen
Kam gave a discusted look to the meat, knowing his stomach could not handle it right now, and glanced up to Aeria when she'd spoken. "Yes, the storm is over.." his head tilted slightly, as he nosed the meat a bit toward her direction. "Would you like this? I am not very hungry.." he winced cause he could smell the blood on his nose.

He was thankful that Haku was being thoughtful.. but his emotions were like a raging sea inside of him, changing so drastically. He slowly pulled himself to limbs, stretching out.

Friday_Dora
The she-pup smiled slightly. Are you sure you don't want it? I might have a little bit... but I should wait for Gizmo, he might be hungry, too.

Aeria's gaze drifted to the den's entrance. So the storm was over. She was very happy about that, she hadn't liked being cooped up too well, though the company was pleasant.

Kimaria
Gizmo gave a small huff in his sleep, rolling over onto his back so that his four paws stuck up in the air, his pale belly revealed as his head lolled back against the floor of the den.

He had fallen asleep a while back, having grown bored of watching the goings on in the den and it appeared he was having some sort of good dream. His forepaws twitched slightly and he gave a muffled growl as he chased the dream furry around the forest.

His nose wrinkled slightly as he shifted again, rolling onto his side and letting out a deep sigh as he settled into a more peaceful sleep.

Lethrossen
Kamali glanced to Gizmo and smiled a bit, then looked back to Aerie. "Im sure, you and Gizmo may have it. Spilt it between you.. He might not be up for a while yet.. I think I will fo outside for a bit, stretch my paws." He nodded a bit at her, waiting to see if she'd take the meat.

Friday_Dora
Aeria snickered at Gizmo. She stood up and walked to where the meat was and delicately picked it up in her mouth, bringing it back to where she and Gizmo were lying.

Thank you, Kamali. Have a nice walk. She smiled warmly at the other wolf.

Kimaria
Gizmo's nose twitched, and caught the scent of the meat and being the greedy little pup that he was, the roly-poly wolf opened his golden eyes and sat up.

Yawning wide, he turned to the female and nipped sleepily at her ears, peering at the food and licking his lips. It smelt so delicious!

Wagging his tail cheerfully he sniffed at the morsal curiously before turning his gaze up to Aeria. Hello. He said sheepishly, giving her a wolfish grin.

Friday_Dora
Aeria grinned back at her friend, swatting at him with a paw. Have a nice nap, Gizmo? She didn't even bother to wait for a reply as her attention turned back to the food.

Her nose would not let her ignore the deer meat sitting before them. The aroma was making her mouth water and her tail wag furiously.

Lethrossen
Kamali nodded "Morning Gizmo" he called softly, befor trotting out into the snow. He was just big enough that he could walk in the deep snow, with a bit of trouble. He headed slowly toward Haku, a little sheepish though. He wondered if Haku was still feeling.. off..

Kimaria
Gizmo moved back slightly, to dodge the paw and keep it from making contact with his snout. With an excited yip he tilted his head as she spoke and wagged his tail happily.

Sleep well, Aeria comfy. He said happily, letting his eyes become drawn to the meat lying on the floor. His legs quivered as he held himself back from ravenously attacking the food. He had to be a polite pup and let Aeria eat first, even if he was slobbering everywhere.

He moved to lie down, golden eyes fixated on the meat lying just in front of him.

He looked up as he heard Kamali and wagged his tail in reply, Hewwo Kam-Kam.

Friday_Dora
Sensing that Gizmo was going to wait to eat after her, Aeria began to chew away at the meat. Her eyes rose to look at him as she ate, watching as the pup drooled over their meal.

After a while she couldn't take it anymore. Gizmo, come eat, she said, motioning to the food.

Kimaria
Would Gizmo ever decline an offer from Aeria? Never. Would he ever deny a free meal? No way! His tail wagged madly as he crawled forwards on his belly, taking the meat between his teeth and growling a little as he tore off a piece.

He raised his head as he chewed on the meat, glancing at Aeria with something similar to adoration in his eyes. She was a very sweet and kind pup and he felt himself so honoured that he had met her that day. He swallowed the meat and lowered his head to tear off another piece, his teeth perfect tools to lacerate the meal.

Good food. He said between bites

Friday_Dora
Aeria nodded as she continued to nibble at her side of the meat. Very good food, she mumbled, her mouth full.

When she had eaten her fill the pup sat back, content and with a belly full of delicious deer. She watched Gizmo, smirking slightly. He certainly was enthusiastic when it came to eating.

Kimaria
Gizmo beamed up at her as she replied and continued to chew eagerly, loving the taste of this meat. It was so much better and more filling than the meat from furries.

As Aeria sat back away from the meat Gizmo let out a playful yip and pounced onto the food, batting at it as if it was real and biting into the soft flesh. Then after having eaten his fill he nudged it aside with his nose and leapt at the young female, intending to take her by surprise.

Friday_Dora
Letting out a surprised yip, Aeria tumbled onto her back before springing to her feet. Her tail wagged as she yipped a bit more at Gizmo.

What'dya do that for? she asked, walking towards Gizmo as though she were going to pounce on him.

Kimaria
Gizmo arched his back in a playful bow, glancing up at Aeria with an almost pitiful expression. He gave an excited bark and bounded forward a step before rushing out of the den. The cold of the snow caught him by surprise and he was sure it had gotten a LOT deeper.

Yelping from the cold he backed up into the trail left by Haku and Kam-Kam, whimpering at the sudden temperature change, and turning his head to search for Aeria, his breath misting the air.

Friday_Dora
Aeria stuck her head out of the den, looking around for Gizmo. Everything was stark white, which didn't aid in her search for the pale pup. Gizmo? Gizmo? Where are you?

She put one paw down on the snow experimentally, watching as it sunk down slightly. The other three soon joined it, and Aeria worked on shifting her weight around so she wouldn't sink through.

Kimaria
Gizmo reared up on his hind legs to peer over the mounds of snow, snuffling noisily at the air with his pink nose. Giving a small yip he pushed himself through the snow again, ignoring the chill it gave him and yipped to her.

I here! Where you?! He knew the den was somewhere behind him...or was it? He gave another scared yip, pushing himself through a large mound of snow and loosing his footing briefly, his white body becoming lost amongst the newly fallen snow.

Friday_Dora
Aeria's ears perked up at the sound of Gizmo's voice. Gizmo! I'm near the den. She turned to look behind her, as if to reassure herself that the den was still there. It was, so she continued walking forward.

Stay there Gizmo! I'm coming! She pranced across the snow, looking back and forth for her friend.

Kimaria
His ears picked out the sounds of Aeria's voice as she spoke but he couldn't make out the words. The snow muffled them, and he gave a loud sneeze, the force sending him rolling back the way he had come.

Shaking his head fiercely, he trembled from the cold and raised his muzzle to give another yip.

His nose managed to find other scents of wolves nearby and sneezing again - although more gently this time - he moved towards what he hoped was the right direction.

Friday_Dora
Aeria blinked, the stark white of the snow causing her eyes to water slightly. Where was that pup? She buried her nose in the snow and began to sniff, hoping to pick up on his trail, but instead she found herself rewarded by cold snow up her nose. This is getting me nowhere she muttered, snorting.

Why was it everytime she found Gizmo she lost him again? Surely there was some way to keep track of him. Aeria shook her head before taking off running once more.

Kimaria
Once he had moved away from the den area and reached beneath the thick canopy of trees the going was easier. The snow had not built up so deep here and he could walk more or less normally, if he dodged the dips and bumps in the ground.

He sat back on his haunches and gave a few yips, hoping that Aeria would perhaps find the tracks he had left and follow. If not then he supposed he could always just sit here and watch the snow.

This place seemed even more different now that it was covered with fresh snow, the great white mounds changing the landscape even more. With a small sigh he would lean forwards on his front paws and raise a hind leg to scratch vigourously behind one ear.

Friday_Dora
Aeria froze as she heard a distant yip. Well, it sounded distant at least. She threw her head back and gave a brief howl before starting again.

Trees soon came into view, along with what seemed to be pawprints from a wolf. A young one, by the looks of it. She was gaining on him. Gizmo! she called again, hoping he would hear her now that she seemed to be closer.

Kimaria
He caught the sound of Aeria's howl and his tail wagged happily, did that mean she had heard him? He hoped so.

Yawning he would shift himself to turn in the direction of the sound, twitching his ears to pick out any other sounds. A small bird twittered somewhere above him, causing him to raise his head to glance up into the snow-capped tree.

Tilting his head in an innocent fashion he let out a deep breath, which misted the air in front of his muzzle.

Then suddenly he heard his name called out and he was on his paws in a second, peering forwards through the snow, to see Aeria's form appear from the blankets of white.

He yipped, tongue lolling from the side of his mouth and ears drawing forwards. There you be! He squeaked, wagging his tail madly.

Friday_Dora
Aeria grinned at the sight of Gizmo. You were hard to find!

She bounded forward, skidding to a halt right in front of Gizmo and sending snow flying up around them. She yipped and snapped playfully at the snow. You were hard to find because you look like the snow!

Kimaria
Gizmo gave a wolfish grin, taking a small step back as she skidded to a halt. A peice of snow landed on his nose causing him to shake his head to get it off. He canted his head slightly as she spoke and glanced down at his forepaws, ears drawn forward in focus.

I look like snow? He asked, raising his head to look into her eyes. He supposed he was sort of white...well when he wasn't muddy anyway.

With an excited yip he dove forwards, nipping at her forelegs and then dashed off, turning his head back to bark a challenge at her.

Friday_Dora
Aeria growled and quickly turned to chase Gizmo. She wasn't going to lose him again! A few energetic bounds brought her close enough to n** at his back legs. I'm gonna get you, Giz!

She smiled broadly as they ran along, her tongue hanging out the side of her mouth to taste the crispness of the air and her tail trailing behind her, acting as a sort of rudder to steer her as her feet were too focused on speed to deal with direction as well.

Kimaria
Gizmo gave a squeak of excitement as she chased him and bounded forwards as she tried to n** at his back legs. Perhaps he had underestimated her speed just a bit.

Craning back his head he yipped happily, eyes falling upon her form as she ran just behind him. You run fast! He exclaimed, turning back his head just in time to see a rock blocking his path.

He leapt up, landing on top of the boulder before using the strong muscles in his back legs to propel himself off and onto the forest floor again.

We go hunt? He yelled above the whistling of the wind which raced past his ears, remembering what they had spoken about in the den.

Friday_Dora
She nodded as best she could, ducking her head from the wind. Her ears were pinned back in an attempt to make her body a bit more aerodynamic.

What are we going to hunt? And where? Aeria asked, her eyes darting up to Gizmo.

Kimaria
Gizmo slowed his pace a little so that he was running alongside Aeria, that way they could talk easier. He snuffled noisily at the air and turned his head from side to side, glancing through the trees as if expecting something to come bounding out at them

We hunt long-ears? He offered, his breathing misting ahead of him.

We look by river, they there last time. He continued, fumping over another small mound and continuing on, hoping this was the correct way.

Feb. 5, The Deer

Friday_Dora
Aeria yipped excitedly as they ran along towards the river. Her first real hunt, and with Gizmo! This was sure to be a lot of fun.

A moment passed before she glanced over at Gizmo. Are there lots of long-ears by the river? Her tail wagged a little at the thought of the two of them running through an enormous group of the critters, chasing and nipping and howling as they scattered.

Kimaria
The pup slowed his pace a little, enjoying the feel of the cool breeze as it rustled pleasantly through his pale fur. Raising his head, his eyes fell closed briefly as he felt the chilly winter air brush over him.

He opened his eyes to turn his head slightly towards Aeria and pondered on her question. When he and Jade had hunted them he wasn't too sure how many there had been since he had been the one who waited whilst she chased.

With a small yip he lowered his head and gazed straight ahead, the faint scent of the long-ears reaching his snout. He wasn't too sure how new the trail was but he supposed they must have crossed this way after the storm had died down.

Long-ears like groups, feel safer, there be many I think. He replied to the best of his knowledge.

He paused suddenly, ears drawn forwards as he listened, the scent of water filled his nostrils, and something else too. Could it be the long-ears? What you smell? He asked of Aeria after a moment of silence.

Friday_Dora
Aeria placed her nose to the ground and sniffed intently. Water. We must be near the river. And... She sniffed again, closing her eyes as if to concentrate. There is something else. A new smell. It was foreign to the young wolf, and she looked back up at Gizmo, confused.

You smell it too?

Kimaria
Gizmo quivered taking a small step back as the scary memories of his earlier puphood came flooding back to him. It had been that day when he had run off to be on his own, and had spent a while reflecting on his actions. This had been before he was reunited with Aeria, and now seemed like such a long time ago.

Yet now that the strange scent touched his nose he recognised it as the long-legged beast he had faced before.

Last time he had been chased into a thorn bush because he had been nothing but a tiny ball of fur but now...he was atleast a little bigger.

He cleared his throat and dropped to the ground beside the female. The scent familiar...I met beast before with branches on head and real long legs.

Friday_Dora
Aeria sat beside Gizmo, her ears perked forward as he spoke. Branches on its head? The creature sounded downright terrifying!

She had seen long-legged beasts before, but never with branches on their heads. Images of such a thing began to fill her head, and it frightened her a bit. Aeria swallowed hard as she imagined what those branches could do to a couple of lone wolf pups.

Kimaria
Gizmo let out a small whimper, not sure what to do. He knew for a fact that he was still no way large enough to take down such a monster but if they outnumbered it 2 to 1 then they may have a chance.

Pulling himself up onto his paws he raised a forepaw to take a step forward when the crunching of fresh snow reverberated in his ear drums. His heart thrummed loudly against his ribcage, and his breath rasped loudly from his gaping maw - perhaps too loudly.

Then swallowing his fear he took a tentative step forwards, pulling his body into the small clump of undergrowth that he hoped would be good enough to mask him from whatever monster awaited them.

Ears drawn intently forward he felt his body tremble with fright, as his eyes settled upon two of those strange creatures.

The dark brown stag had his back turned to the wolf pups, his heavily antlered head lowered as he drank thirstily from the river. Hart had been travelling for the past few days, searching for food in this otherwise barren land. Yet thanks to the storm, the grass was hidden beneath a rather deep amount of snow and took a long time to be revealed when one only had two hooves to use instead of hands.

Snorting, he raised his head and drew forth his ears, glancing towards the other side of the river with his large, round eyes. Yes it had been a rather bitter winter indeed.

Friday_Dora
Aeria crawled in after Gizmo, settling herself down beside him. She watched in quiet awe as the two branch-beasts drank from the river. They were a bit larger than she had expected, and she had to suppress a whimper. Hopefully they couldn't see Gizmo and herself.

She lay her head on her paws and continued to stare at the pair of creatures. Looking over at Gizmo she noticed that he was trembling with fear. She gently nudged him with her nose, hoping to reassure him. They would be fine, so long as they were quiet and still.

The stag with the yellow eyes sipped at the icy water, legs spread to allow him better access to the river. Mrigalochan lifted his head suddenly, water dripping from his dark muzzle. His ears swiveled forward as he started, but looking around he realized that his companion and he were alone.

Kimaria
Gizmo turned comforted eyes upon his companion, leaning over to nuzzle at her gently. It really was good to have a friend beside him at a time like this, especially when he wasn't at his most brave. He refused to return to his cowardly ways though and forced himself to calm down and not get so scared. After all the beasts hadn't seen them yet.

His heart skipped a beat as the yellow-eyed one turned his head back to look in their direction and just abount manged to hold back a whimper, desperate to maintain the silence. After a while though he knew he had to speak or the tension in his chest would become unbearable.

What are they? He whispered quietly, curling his tail around his hind leg.

Turning his head briefly to the stag that stood not too far from him, Hart exhaled noisily and stamped one hoof into the snow. This winter was bothering him more than he would ever let on, he craved to see the grass, the flowers and the leaves again. Why did the forest curse them with such disgustingly cold seasons.

Was there something bothering this other stag? He turned his head also, glancing back at the forest which lay behind them. His large eyes scanned the trees...the ground, but he saw nothing that could cause them harm or distress.

With a sigh he lowered his head once again, taking yet another long drink. The river was just about the only place which hadn't frozen over which had made it hard to find, and he was not a fan of eating the snow for moisture.

Friday_Dora
Aeria shrugged slightly, shifting her weight so she was leaning against Gizmo. I don't know, I've never seen anything like them before... the pup whispered back. She narrowed her eyes at the branch-beasts. Whatever they are, I don't think they're too friendly.

She froze entirely as the darker of the two became a bit antsy, stomping and turning his head. Had they been spotted?

Are you scared? she whined in a barely audible voice. Aeria trembled slightly as she continued to watch the pair of bizarre creatures.

Mrigalochan snorted, clouds of steam exiting his nostrils. There was nothing there! The stag stomped frustratedly at the snow.

He looked over at the other stag, who was drinking from the river. He himself wasn't thirsty, but was starved for some fresh foilage, which of course was no where to be found.

He walked over to a stand of trees, some of which still had bark towards the top. Mrigalochan jumped up onto his hind legs, balancing with his front legs against the tree as he reached hungrily for a small strip of bark.

Kimaria
Gizmo waited as inanimate as a...rock. He was now too afraid to even tremble, eyes fixed on those strange creatures who were stomping their rock-hard hooves and looking around with those terrifyingly large eyes.

As the female leaned her weight against him he did allow himself to relax a little more, moving to lean his head against hers as she spoke.

I seen one before... He whispered, I by self and no one else nearby. It big and mean and I hid in thorny bush. He closed his eyes as if he could block out that memory.

It stay for ages, waiting to see if I move, but Gizmo not that stupid. He continued quietly, Then he give up and go 'way.

Hart drank thirstily for a moment more, swivelling back his ears as he heard the soft tread of his companion as he moved away, probably to find some food.

Raising his head again he took a few steps back from the river, turning his lithe form and following the other. Hunger also gnawed at his stomach, but bark did not appeal to him greatly. Instead he made himself content with scraping at the snow with a hoof, hoping to reveal some of that frosty grass hidden beneath.

Friday_Dora
Aeria frowned a bit, imagining tiny Gizmo being chased into a bush by one of the creatures. That would be frightening no matter how big you were!

These ones will go away, too, eventually. She licked absently at a paw, keeping her eyes fixed on the animals by the river.

Mrigalochan backed down from the tree, chewing his bark contentedly. It wasn't all that tasty, but it would do for the time being.

He huffed as he saw the other stag scraping at the snow and the frozen grass. Frozen food appealed even less to him, and he was now quite thankful that he had gone with the bark instead.

Kimaria
Gizmo nodded in answer, his tail wagging slightly as he nuzzled his nose into her neck fur. She was right, as always, for no animal could remain forever.

Why they eat the trees? He questioned, canting his head curiously and wrinkling his nose. Trees not hurt monsters... These creatures really were very strange indeed, and he very much doubted that the trees tasted very nice.

It seemed that the deer had quite different ways of thinking, and as he continued to scrape at the snow with his hoof he gave an impatient huff and reared up slightly, both front hooves hitting the snow with a dull thump. There would be no grass today.

With no sound of complaint he moved to copy his companions actions, tearing off a piece of bark and chewing it with no satisfaction what so ever.

Friday_Dora
She laughed slightly. I don't know... It's strange, isn't it? Especially strange considering that the creatures had branches on their heads. Why would they eat their own kind?

No, they couldn't be trees, trees couldn't walk around and drink from the river and eat. Aeria whined a bit. The branch-beasts were very confusing creatures.

The stag snorted again, noticing the other deer had gone to eat from the tree as he had earlier. Sometimes there just wasn't any other choice.

Kimaria
Gizmo nodded his pale head and shifted his weight slighty, wincing at the crack of a branch he had been lying on. He definately did not want to attract the two tree monsters' attention.

Very strange. He agreed in a whisper, turning his head to watch as the two branch-monsters continued eating the tree. With a small sigh he curled his tail around him once more and moved to stand.

You think know we be here? He trembled a little, not wuite sure what to think, perhaps these strange creatures were trying to lure them into a feeling of security and then turn on them when they least expected it. Or maybe their noses weren't very good for sniffing out scents of predators, either way, Gizmo was not too sure how to react.

Hart continued chewing on the bark, eyes half closed as he stared at the trees, wondering how long the white snow would be covering the ground. His ears swivelled forwards once more as he heard something - perhaps the snap of a twig. Were they being watched?

His body tensed and his mouth stopped the rhythmic chewing so that he could listen, hoping that his body language would be enough to alert his companion.

He remained completely still for a moment after, his large eyes scanning the undergrowth and trees, trying to pick out movement. Perhaps he had been imagining it.
