Ugh. Snow was pretty and all when it had just fallen upon the land, covering it in a white blanket of beauty, but once it started to melt..? Miri shuddered, sidestepping a slushy puddle just in time. Hazel eyes swept across the muddy, soppy landscape, a pout set upon her lips. If only Spring would hurry and come..

The Bay tossed her curly mane defiantly, continuing on her way. She couldn't let a few little puddles stop her from her morning walk, could she? Even if they did get mud all over her light brown socks and hooves and.. No. Positive thoughts.

She must remain positive, or she'd just sleep all through the winter.. And that much sleep couldn't be kind on her figure, could it?

A warm front had jolted through the area, keeping the temperatures warmer than they had been. All the snow and ice that had once tormented the land had begun to melt- and though Althalus didn't believe for a second that winter was over (it was such a deceitful season) he could at least appreciate the warmer days ahead. With luck the warmer weather and temperatures would linger and help thaw out the land. It might remind all exactly what they were waiting for, to tease them of warmer days ahead. . . .

His sunshine coat, though still bright, had met its share of mud and puddles. The thick fur surrounding his hooves had been stained brown from mud, and even the edges of his long, red tail. He was a bit more disheveled than he cared to be, but such was the joy of warming weather. Until spring officially hit, the fickle temperatures either froze you to the core or slush and mud made you look like hell - either way, it seemed a soquili plumb couldn't win!

Trotting through the soggy plains, and the male glanced ahead only to do a double take. There was a small figure upon the relatively flat horizon, one that quickly turned out to be some sort of soquili. Squinting, the sunset male could pick out some sort of colour - brown - with what appeared to be a darker mane and tail. Hrm. Ever inquisitive, it pleased him that the stranger was walking in the opposite direciton of himself - it met they might meet in the middle and give him excuse to stop and chatter.

Ever sociable, regardless of the weather, the stallion quickened his pace. Sure enough, it didn't take long to begin to pick out details. The soquili was definitely a mare and had a thick head of curls that framedh er features. Her hooves and ankles appeared to be a softer shade of brown, while her back was streaked with black. Save for a diamond of white upon her nose and forehead, she was made up of richer, earth tones and the male couldn't help but be pleased.

She was definitely a beauty if he ever saw. "Nothing like a bit of warm weather to life ones spirits, wouldn't you say m'lady?" Althalus slowed his walk, canting his head to the side as his silver eyes peeked curiously down at her. It was amazing the stallion could see through his red bangs, but somehow, he managed quite fine.
