The grass softly tickled her nose as she rested silently under the large oak tree. Her ears remained perked at attention, incase she needed to flee from any sort of danger that came her way. Birds chirped and sang overhead in the branches, their sweet songs soothing her and bringing her closer to dreamland.

 Silver irises scanned the empty hillsides before her as the unikalona mare made her way up the worn dirt path, ears twitching back and forth idly. It felt as though she had been traveling for months, when in reality, it had only been a few days, perhaps a week at most. The ebon' and silver mare held her masked head high as she started her descent down the hill and into this new land, metallic gaze landing upon a strange mare only a short distance away.
Normally, non-kalona were always frightened of her when they saw her... so maybe it was best not to say anything to this new mare.

Nalani was beginning to drift off into sleep when the sudden stop of singing awoken her. Wha..what happened? Why did they stop their lovely song? Sky blue eyes slowly opened and scanned the meadows and hills for some unseen force that must have scared the critters to silence. Even the wind seemed to stop and everything went completely quiet. The mare's eyes landed on a dark figure in the distance. It was a kalona, one of the most feared creatures walking on this planet.
She lifted her head out of curiousity. It wasn't the first time she ever came face to face with these kind of soquili. Nalani knew that some were actually good spirited from experience. The mare slowly stood up and stepped forward towards the other mare, making sure to keep her head low so that it wasn't mistaken as a challenge or threat to the other.

The approach of the other mare made her trepidation vanish, and it was almost enough for a smile to grace her maw beneath the mask. While it was evident enough that she was being cautious, she was not running away, or even staring at her in fear as she was used to seeing.
Tilting her head to simply observe for a moment, she had to take notice of the mare's beauty- the azure butterfly wings and silver horn immediately drew her attention, and the sparse distribution of tiger stripes accented her natural coloring. She wondered absently if her own coloring drew as much attention, and quickly dismissed the thought.
Watching her approach with a lowered head, she dipped her own in a gesture of respect, speaking softly in a gentle tone that she had inherited from her mother. "Ohayou."

Her ears shot forward at the kalona's soft voice. She tilted her head, trying to understand what the mare said, but continued moving closer. The lovely female seemed friendly enough to approach. Nalani's eyes dazzled as she stared at the mare's alluring elegance and gorgeous eyes. It was like a shooting star had come down from the heavens to award the world with her grace. A smile spread across the face of the butterfly mare as she greeted the newcomer. "Hello."

This time, she did smile as she was offered one by the butterfly-winged mare, small and fleeting- but it was a smile nonetheless. Briefly, she paused as she noticed the confusion in the other mare's expression, nearly hitting herself with a wing as she realized her stupidity. Of course... things were different here... it was likely that other soquili would find her speech patterns strange and foreign.
Her silvery gaze rose to meet the mare's own azure hues, bowing her head respectfully a moment before meeting her stare once more. "My apologies... I meant 'good morning'."

The mare nodded at the other, "A good morning to you as well, hun." She fluttered her wings in a bit of excitement from meeting someone new today. "Forgive my hyperness, it just feels really good meeting others since most of my time I spend alone." Nalani tilted her head and gave the kalona a friendly smile. "I hope you don't mind, but I must compliment on your unique beauty. Although you are a kalona and might be feared by maybe, you look like an angel and seem friendly as well."
