Hm. What would be the fastest route from point A to point B, without getting soaked? Octavia paused, pale pink eyes surveying the situation. The rain was coming down steady, pouring across the land in thick sheets. Octavia shrunk back a little, shielded by a mass of leaves. There really was no fast way back to the teepee, was there?

"Oh well." She shrugged, turning her attention on what she could do in the mean time, as she waited for the rain to stop. She lowered her head, nibbling on the short grass that grew under the leafy canopy. Most foals would be worried about what their parents would say if they stayed out too long... Octavia had nothing to worry about there. Her father, Torey, wouldn't ask. He'd probably forgotten she had gone out in the first place. With a sighed, she couldn't help to smile. Good old dad. She loved him, she really did, but one could only spend so much time with him until they felt their IQ drop a few points.

She continued to graze, ears perked as she did so. Wouldn't want to be surprised, now would she?

Phobos sinked through the rain, a scowl on his face. The little colt's head hung low, his bangs plastered against his forehead, his tail limp and sopping. It was horrid out, and the colt took no measures to hide his distaste for the situation.

The colt picked up his hooves as high as he could to avoid the mud, but it was a lost cause. His normally pale beige hooves were encrusted with deep brown mud, showing little contrast against the blackness of his legs. How absolutely disgusting.

Phobos' brown eyes, from his mother, scanned the landscape. Anywhere to hide...anywhere would be wonderful. The colt had wandered far away from the cave that he was born and raised in. His parents were probably upset with him. Mother and Father were in a little argument again, and he had managed to slip off with out them noticing.

It would be an hour before they realize he was gone, probably. They would fight, then make up half-heartedly for the sake of himself and his sister, and then smile and make some stupid joke. And then eventually his sister would ask where he was.

And then mother would freak out, and dad would say words that Phobos himself wasn't allowed to say, and then go looking for him. But he wouldn't get in trouble, because mom and dad always felt bad for fighting.

Octavia had been lucky enough to have noticed the gathering of trees not long after it had started to rain, skittering under the shelter as the first crash of thunder shook the land. Her hooves were slightly muddy, but they were black to begin with, so she wasn't missing out on anything. With a flick of her short tail, she peeked around one of the tree trunks, certain she had heard a noise from that direction.

She had been right. A foal, not much larger than her, was wandering out in the rain. "Don't you have any sense to come in out of the rain?" Octavia called out, arching a brow at him. Pale pink eyes watched him with a rather blank stare, before she turned back to the dark of the shelter. She had been lurking about the edge, just for some light, and it was a good thing she did, or that boy might not've seen the trees.

Tossing her candy-cane hued hair, she returned to grazing. If he came, alright, if he didn't come, oh well. She had brought the shelter to his attention, and that was the best she could do.

Phobos snorted slightly as a huge, fat drop, one that had probably gathered among the leaves, fell downward and directly onto his nose. Fabulous. This day certainly couldn't get any better now, could it?

His ear flicked at the sound of the voice. His chocolate eyes darted to the side to catch a glimpse of red and white, the rest of the figure dark against the shadows of the overhanging trees. But it was clear it was a filly. He gave a sigh of relief. Phobos didn't like colts too much. Not that he had met any. But he knew his sister, and he loved her very much. So all fillys must be good, right?

He quickly ran towards the dry spot skidding to a half just as the rain stopped hitting him and found himself face-to-face with a filly with a two tone mane and tail such as his own, and markings around her face and hooves. They were quite pretty, and made him rather ashamed of his plain markings.

"Who are you?" he asked, standing up straight and flicking his head to allow the thick, wet locks to fly backwards and out of his eyes. The colt was very tempted to shake out his coat, but he knew that it would be rude, seeing as he would probably get her wet as well.

Octavia blinked, surprised at how close the other was all of a sudden. Pink eyes glanced the other up and down, a small smile flitting across her face. "Rough day?" She asked, noting the exasperated expression and drenched coat.

Octavia took a step back, getting out of the way as water droplets were flung from the other's hair. "I'm Octavia. You?" The question was asked with a slightly tilted head, ears perked curiously. She may not be the most vocal of Soquili, but she certainly was one of the most curious.

Phobos crinkled his nose momentarily. "Every day is rough. If you're me at least" he said in a matter-of-fact tone. "How was YOUR day, since we seemed to be in the mood of sharing such information?" he asked. The little colt didn't have any intention to be rude. Some of his phrases just ended up that way.

He watched her move away from him. Great. The first foal he had met outside his family and she already wanted to get away from him! Well, she couldn't really blame him. He knew he had a tendency to bring others down. Even his own family sometimes tried to avoid him.

"Me? AF Dramatiche Fee Phobos" he said rather sullenly "I've got a big long name cause my momma's owner gave her a...proper name or somethin like that. Her name is AF Final Quest Journey, and she wanted to give me a proper name too" he said with a sigh "Personally I think it's stupid and too long. You can just call me Phobos. Or Pho if you feel real lazy"
