Cyralthein had chosen to go out and simply wander today. He'd succeeded in landing a job at last and was looking to congratulate himself. Having let his feet carry him into some of the more livelier areas of town, Cyr sat down in a beautiful park to simply people watch. It was nice, just learning what the ebb and flow of the city was, where people went and who could be seen where. The noble in him wanted to know the social hierarchy - old habit died hard.

Crossing one leg over the other, he leaned back against the bench and draped his arms over the back as he tilted his head back to gaze up into the tree just behind. He didn't really know that many people here... Maybe he should seek out the elf and take him up on his offer of dinner. Or request for Crystal and her daughter to visit... Something to get out.

Ka was, in fact, heading back home from his own job when he saw someone up ahead sitting on a bench in the park. Tilting head just a bit, Ka wondered for a moment...why the other seemed so familiar. And then he got it. The party... he'd been at the party in the shop.

A bit curious now, Ka turned to wander over in that direction. Usually he wasn't the type to just walk up to random strangers and start up conversation with them... but he wondered if this man was also the guardian of a Scent child. Not that he was about to ask that outright. Didn't want to sound like a lunatic if the man had no idea what he was talking about.

"Hi," Ka called out softly as he walked up to the bench. "Sorry to bother you, but I think I remember seeing you at that Christmas party a while back...?"

Ryelle wasn't lost, no indeed, far from it. Instead, she had blithely skipped away from her guardian, who could care less about the immediate absence of his young charge, and was off for a bit of an exploratory run about the town on her own. Upon the discovery of the park, her unladylike charge slowed, and she laced her fingers behind her back, and strolled through the park like the delicate little girl that she appeared to be.

Her eyes were impossibly wide as she walked down the small pathway, gazing at foliage and the small animals that lived there. Humming a ditty beneath her breath, she appeared the very soul of innocence.

Spying Ka'hmesh and Cyralthein, she immediately remembered spotting them at the Christmas party, her own small mind able to lock things away and remember them for long periods of time. Turning from her current path, the dolled up little scent headed towards them, a seemingly harmless curiosity on her face.

Thoughts elsewhere for the time being, Ka's question wasn't immediately answered as the Shifter blinked and came back to reality. Tilting his head to the side, he frowned slightly, "Christmas Party...?" Oh, right. That gathering. Nodding, he smiled easily at the other but wondered why that mattered, "I was there... Oh, you were one of the people watching us, weren't you?" He pursed his lips, thoughtfully as he recalled that evening. "We were never introduced."

His gaze slid past Ka, though, and settled on the pretty little girl that was approaching. Was she walking their way...? He hoped not. He didn't do too well children, let alone primped up little girls that likely possessed an attitude to match. "She yours...?" He asked, glancing up at Ka with a questioning look. Maybe he'd come to pick his daughter up?

"Mm... I was, but I wasn't trying to be rude in doing so," Ka replied with a bit of a smile. "I'm Ka'hmesh... and you are..?" he asked, just before glancing up to also see the girl coming along the path.

"Ah... no, she isn't, though I have a little boy. He's at home, though, or should be. I don't know where this one came from."

The girl wasn't close enough to hear their conversation just yet, but when she reached them, she smiled up at the two, clasping hands in front of her this time. "Hullo~" She said quietly, all charm and innocence, eyes almost impossibly wide. "Isn't the park lovely today?"

Having caught the last bit of that conversation, she beamed up at Ka'hmesh. "D'you have a kid too, mister? Is he as big as I am?" She held up a hand to indicate height. She was being as cute as physically possible at the moment, and she shot Cyr another dazzling smile, just to make sure he was fully aware of her presence and that it would directly affect him and not just Ka.

"Not mine. I don't have any kids. I..." He trailed off as she approached and broke in. Frowning slightly, he turned his gaze from her back to Ka'hmesh, "Call me Cyr." Quirking his lips as his attention was drawn back to the child, the shifter rolled his shoulders and offered an empty smile, the patronizing, awkward type that people give when they're not entirely sure what to do with a kid.

"Shouldn't you be with your parents, little girl...?" He hoped they might be around, he really didn't want to have to go looking for them. He may not like children so much but he wasn't about to leave one alone.

Ka tilted head at the girl, eyeing her for a moment with a little not-quite-frown. Somehow, she seemed familiar, but he couldn't put a finger on exactly why that might be so at the moment.

"The park is nice today," he replied to her, in a polite sort of manner, before glancing back to Cyr.

"Ah... and yes, I have a little boy, as I mentioned. I'd say ... he's about as big as you are. I'm also wondering what you're doing here alone, though, Miss....?" Ka continued on, raising brows slightly in silent request for a name.

Ryelle knew exactly what they were trying to do, and lucky for her, Tiis didn't have the faintest idea of where she was at the moment, so she could have gotten away with murder. Not that she had murder in mind. With another positively blinding smile, she looked at the two adults.

"Oooh. What's he look like?" She bit her lip thoughtfully, "And my name is Ryelle, and my mommy said I could come out here and play if I wanted to." Mind you, the very male Tiis was said mommy, a term that he'd never be able to escape when the blond girl was concerned. Twirling her hair on a finger, she laughed softly, "And you don't have to look at me like that, I'm not lost and I'm not in any trouble...and I'm not stupid either." Pure. Innocence.

Not.

Cyr blinked, his eyes narrowing. No, he really didn't like this little girl. Bratty, haughty and all too reminiscent of his youth. With a forced smile, the Shifter merely nodded, "Never said you were, princess." Standing, he attempted to look tall and authoritative.... at five foot eight inches. It's effect would have been better had he had wings and tail and glowing pink eyes buuuut he wasn't about the chance setting the square off with cries of 'demon!'. That was the last thing he wanted. Peace was much preferable, thank-you very much.

"Are you certain you want bother us boring old folk? Surely a young and vibrant thing such as yourself would much prefer better company." He pointed in the direction of a gaggle of children playing with a ball, "Games are so much better then heavy discussion, hnnn?" If only he could bore her into leaving... it had worked on him many a time when he was her age.

Ka started to relax a bit when Ryelle said that she had permission to be here. "Ah, well, he's very pale and has white hair and kind of silvery eyes... " Ka murmured, describing Rhiloss briefly just before Cyr started talking.

Blinking, he glanced at the other man, catching the emphasis on that one word, and then also glancing over toward the other children. He didn't understand exactly why yet, but maybe it was a better idea for the girl to be with those her own age...

"Perhaps Cyralthein is right... wouldn't you like to play with the other children?"

Her eyes narrowed at Cyr, and cocking her head in a gesture reminiscent of a small bird, she grinned. "Children make you nervous, Sir?" She inquired lightly, seeming almost bemused by the fact. Ryelle was a sharp one, and devilish to boot, which was precisely why Tiis had kept her around in the first place.

However, Ka's words seemed to fill her with delight and she clapped her hands ecstatically. "I've met him before! I met him at the party! He was with Anbu...and he didn't like her magic tricks!" She reminisced, giggling softly. "And I like playing with the other children sometimes, but not all the time. I know how to converse with adults. Mommy taught me."

"Ah, not at all." He blinked, taken aback by her. Sharp one she is.... wonderful. Children did, actually, make him nervous or something there abouts. Not knowing how to speak to one without making babytalk wasn't exactly helpful in situations like this. With a soft sigh he shook his head as Ka's words only seemed to cement her presence. Bah.

Crossing his arms over his chest, Cyr adopted a thoughtful expression. "Who /is/ your mother?" He didn't remember seeing her at the party... then again it was hard to pay attention while being harassed by that pink-haired fellow.

Ka blinked at the reaction his words got and then glanced at Cyr, seeing his expression. Oops... well... Ka couldn't have very well refused to answer with no reason for it. He remembered that happening at the party as well ... but he hadn't remembered seeing Ryelle there.

"Ah ... yes, he has a bit of a tendency to be ... abrupt," he commented quietly, then blinked and broke off as Cyr asked who the child's mother was. That was something Ka was starting to wonder too...
