It had been a long while since the fateful evening in which Resonance had shirked her responsibilities to play the reckless mare in the play of her life. She hadn't seen the stallion who had played her knight in shining armor since then, though the after affects of the meeting had certainly remained.
She'd not wanted to believe it. Denied it from the first signs, pretended as though nothing had happened. The roundness confirmed it, and she could no longer deny it. Every time she looked at her reflection she saw the evidence. Something she just wanted to forget happened would never, ever go away. There were brief moments when she wished to give into the selfish desire to rid herself of the problem.
But, as Dorian always said, she was a miniature of their father and her honor, respect, and love for life would not allow such a callous thing. So instead of facing it alone, and doing so without a word, she did the only thing she knew to do.
She sought out the cause of the entire mess.

He was wandering down the stream with Ishtar, one of his two daughters, when he saw her coming. She looked very familiar to him, and he smiled, having greatly enjoyed both her company and her presence when last they had met. Her temper had been quite enthralling, and he quite fondly remembered the challenge. So he gave his daughter an affectionate nuzzle and trotted closer to the beautiful female, whickering out a greeting as he got closer. "Hello pretty la- oh, s**t."
Silver eyes widened as they fell on her belly. She was with child.
Why did this happen to him?

"Oh s**t?" Resonance questioned, tail flickering in annoyance, "Yes, I would say that is a fairly accurate response, and much matching my own as well." She frowned, not quite sure what else to say. She'd had a great tirade all ready for him, but seeing him she'd just deflated.
Now, Res always considered herself a strong mare - in both mind and body - but right now she'd never felt so damn helpless in her entire life. The heaviness in her body made it harder for her to get around and the consequences that she'd deal with due to her father terrified her.
"I am supposing you will take responsibility for your children."

He glanced up at her with a faint, cautious smile. "Pardon my language, Resonance." he said, sheepishly. Inside, his mind was whirling. Mile upon mile, upon mile. "I... of course I take responsibility for my children." He looked offended. "Those that I know about." the last was murmured sotto voce, and he looked embarrassed. "I... what do you need me to do?" Hopefully her belly wouldn't start shaking like Tear's had, and he wouldn't have to run for baskets again. "Can you follow me back to my place? We can get something set up for you, and..."

There was a deep sense of relief when he said he would take responsibility, that he wouldn't run. But there were very different ideas of what responsibilities would pertain to. "I can," she said after a moment, acknowledging his apology by agreeing to go with him, "As for what I need you to do..."
Now here was where she got nervous again. "You will need to come with me to tell my mother and father." It was a lot to ask, but she'd done the most...dishonorable thing and had gotten with foal outside of matehood. Well, considering her mother and father weren't mates, but they were devoted to each other and only each other. They just...Were special. "I can't do it alone. Not with my father who he is."
The fear of this actually came into her voice this time, and she almost looked near tears.

Wait, fathers? When were fathers part of the bargain? And she seemed scared of her father? What had he gotten into, exactly...? Silver eyes widened, and there was definite panic there, even as he forced his legs forward to reach her side. "F-F-F-Father. Right." Should he bring his daughter, to count as a shield? No, no, that would show irresponsibility as a parent, and he wanted to make an impression. "Lead on then, milady?" He tried to make it come across as valiant, but chances were good he only sounded nervous.
-1000 Manliness points.

Resonance wasn't afraid of what her father would do, more of what her father would say. All her life she'd thrived to make him proud of her, be the daughter that would lead the legacy considering she very much doubted that her brothers would. Dorian was too wrapped up in himself and Sigao...Well, hell if she knew anything about Sigao other than he was too reserved.
The mare couldn't even offer reassurance to Kishi about Khalon, either. Taking a deep breath, Res bowed her head in response and straightened herself up with what pride she could muster. "Thank you," she murmured, "My lord."
Ah, back to formality. Well, off to find Khalon...This couldn't go well.
