Odin had just left the jungle, again determining that it just wasn't for him. In fact, he was just emerging from the underbrush, pleased to be able to see the sun out, when he wanted, and not when the trees decided that they would let the sun's rays peek through their branches. Nope, he did give it another try, but it certainly didn't fit him.

He hung around the edge, though, where the big leafy bushes grew right up to the edge, the scattered bits of savannah grasses fairing not so well as close to the bushes, but thoroughly enjoying the sun's rays just a few feet away. It was a beautiful day, and he decided to spent the rest of it right here, before he decided to travel back to the southern savannah area where he had first encountered Nimloth.

Jiona had been exploring the land, feeling an adventuerous mood upon her. She had come across the start of the jungle, noticing quickly the line of trees and how the ground began to grow softer beneath her. It was nice, she enjoyed the cooling air as she reached the edge o the huge forest.

She quicklly noticed the leopard against the darj green of the trees, and she raised a brow with a smile. Seems she chose the right day to explore.

Jiona walked slowly towards him, her tail flicking behind her. "Hello there." She purred, her dark eyes taking in his unusual blue stripes. She had never met a leopard without spots before, and he intrigued her.

Odin's white ears found the lioness before his golden eyes found her deep red coat. An interesting necklace graces her shoulders, and Odin offered a nod of approval. "Hello, Lady," he greeted her, offering a bow. You always needed to be polite to everyone you crossed, especially if it seemed that they deserved it.

"Merely passing through?" he asked, just a bit curious on where she came from. Plus, he could add in a little small talk, get a little conversation going to let the time pass, since he had already decided to spend the rest of the day here. No point in continuing his travels when he could easily start tomorrow morning.

Jiona was glad to meet someone so well-mannered. She returned the bow with one of her own, her necklace sparkling in the sun. "Yes, I decided to take a little walk and see if I couldn't find something... interesting." During the pause her dark eyes scanned him up and down, to settle again on his own golden gaze.

"It seems I have." She smiled slyly, her tail curling 'round her legs as she sat. It thumped the ground rythmatically as she watched him. "Oh, my name is Jiona. It's a pleasure to meet you, ....?" She tilted her head slightly as she waited for his own title.

"Odin," he replied with a wicked smile, offering the pretty leopard a bow of respect. Well, it seems that there are very many polite and respectable leopards in the savannahs, and not in the jungle. Just on emore mark, to him, to stay out of the jungle. Good enough for him.

He let his eyes linger over her body. Very beautiful, but pity that it didn't seem to match his own coat well. But at least he could pass the time with pleasureable company.

"Aaaah, Lady Jiona. Such a beautiful name for a beautiful creature." He took what she had mentioned about finding something interesting to heart. At least they themselves could dance around with compliments and swelling egos, something Odin was always up for.

"I am pleased that you have found something that you desire, if only by chance." He could always compliment himself a bit, too.

Jiona was pleased to find a leopard as talented as herself in giving compliments. "Odin. A strong name." She said, bowing her head back to him.

"I am pleased as well. Good company is so hard to find these days, don't you think?" She asked, walking a bit closer to him.

"Your coat is so unique." She said, this an honest compliment. She had never seen anyone with such striking markings. She walked in a circle around him, admiring his fur. She stopped when she faced him again, sitting down and curling her tail 'round herself. "I bet your girlfriend is very glad to have someone as handsome as you." She purred, her dark eyes playful.

Odin felt his cheeks warm lightly, but even then he was sure that his blush was small, one of merely feeling complimented.

He soon recomposed himself, allowing himself to take another look at the pretty Jiona. "Well, such a pleasure in having something of a girlfriend, yes," he laughed. It was different, feeling something like that but...well, he did fancy Nimloth, but didn't know exactly how she felt either. Plus matters such as really sticking to one seemed a bit more difficult than other things. There were always pretty ladies everywhere. Including Jiona.

"I must admit though. Such a lovely lady, but she is all alone! I'm sure your avdenturing so far has been a safe one, correct?"
PostPosted: Mon Jan 28, 2008 5:12 pm

Jiona didn't hide her displeasure at finding out he was taken. She would never try to break a couple up, but she did pout slightly.

At his next words her smile returned, less playful and more sincere than before. She hardly ever blushed from compliments, and she didn't get red this time either.

"Oh, yes. Adventuring so far has been quite nice, actually." She thought for a moment of the first time she had been on her own; hardly a juvenile and running away from her father, whom blamed her for her mother and brothers deaths.

She pushed the sad night from her mind, focusing instead on the wonderful creatures she had met so far. "Have you been adventuring as well?"

Odin nodded appropriately at her, seeming to understand that there just miiight be something else on her mind besides all the nice adventuring she had going on, but he was by no means rude enough to push for it. He had enough junk in his own closet to overflow, and certainly didn't need to air his own hidden things out. If that ever came out, it would have to be with someone he was very, very comfortable with.

He did take another moment to think about his answer before replying. "To be honest, a bit. I have been trying to find a comfortable way to live in the jungle, since many of us lovely folk call it home, but I just can't seem to take to it. I'm not sure what it is..." Well, he did know, he just didn't want to list all the things he didn't like, and then perhaps find out (to his horror) that she liked those. Now that would be insulting. "But I've deemed it not correct for me. So I'll probably return to the souther savannahs. It's a bit dryer, with more sunshine, but I think it can work out well."

Okay, enough about him. "Are you merely looking for a place to settle down yourself, or trying to see all the worlds wonders?" He wouldn't blame her if it was the latter, there were many glorious things to see. While he didn't like the jungle much, the waterfalls inside were breathtaking, in the right light.

Jiona listened intently as he spoke, her tail never stopping it's rythmatic beating. "Ah, yes. I haven't explored the jungle much, myself. It seems quite damp, though." She said, glancing over to the thick trees.

Looking back to him, she smiled slightly, "Oh yes, the savannah is lovely. I spend most of my time there." She obviously preferred the open sunshine to the dense jungle, though she wouldn't say too many bad things about the thick forest. She had indeed never explored it well enough to make a very good or bad opinion on it.

At his question, she shrugged slightly. "I suppose the latter. I've never really thought about settling down in one area, honestly." She thought for a few moments, wondering if she ever would settle down. She didn't think so. "The world offers many wonderous things to see, and I think I'd like to see as many as I can." She smiled slightly again, dark eyes still plastered to him, "Will you stay in the savannah, or travel even further in search of a new home?"

Odin laughed. "Ah, yes, if you are not careful, I'm afraid the humidity in the jungle can do a number on your coat. I supposed loepards born there can get used to it, but I'm afraid I'm not of that variety."

He flicked his tail, his ears listening a bit more intently on how she preferred the savannah grasses herself. Aaah, another fine lady. If he had not already felt a twinge of something with Nimloth, he could have easily let himself try to court her for a time. It was always easiest when there were similarities, and important ones at that.

A large grin broke across his face. "Well! I certainly would love to see many things of the world, but I'm afraid that there is something beautiful in the southern lands that has caught my interest for a moment, I'm sure you understand. Though I assume I will surely go back to my wandering ways. You never know what wonderful ladie syou can meet, such as yourself." He offered her a playful wink, hoping that she would loosen up a bit. Aaaah, just a little harmless flirting never hurt anyone.

"I do hope you find what you are looking for, though. Especially if you haven't really thought about it much, either."

Jiona smiled brightly as she listened to him. "Oh, I hadn't even thought of that. But come to think of it, it is quite humid here." She glanced once more to the jungle trees, wondering why the leopards liked it so.

Turning back to him again she smiled knowingly. "Oh yes, I understand." She said, an image of the lion she had met not long ago came to her mind. Her smile softened as she thought of the quiet, sweet-natured soul.

She tried to push Djakovo from her mind and concentrate on Odin's words. His wink made her smile again, and she looked away in mock modesty. Her eyes went back up to him again playfully, "Well, I think traveling does let me meet interesting folks. And handsome ones." She purred slyly, smiling brightly.

Another image of the dark lion she had met crept into her mind, and she smiled softly once more. "I think perhaps I found what I was looking for without knowing it." Her ears flicked back and forth, "I hope you find what you're looking for as well."

Odin's smile softened. "Ahhh, how blessed am I to come across a lady that prays for my own happiness!" He offered her another bow. "I assure you, someday I'll find it, like it sounds like you have found yours. I will admit I am mildly jealous, but the happiness that you have found is comforting." So there was something out there for her. Good. Such a pretty lady deserved that.

Oh, he hoped that he wasn't being too flirtatious! Perhaps he should tone it down. He was having his fun, but he also didn't want it to really lead anywhere. Actually, he typically didn't want anything to lead anywhere, ever. But even the highest walls could fall, if the right crack found it's way in the base.

But anyway.

Should he take her one comment as somthing of a dismissal? He did not want to distress her in any way. He looked at her eyes, trying to judge just what she had meant.

Jiona's tail flicked slightly as she listened to him, and an amused grin spread across her face. He certainly knew how to lay it on thick! She wondered if he got a lot of ladies, or if he just liked to flirt, like herself.

"I'm sure you will find yours as well." She said with an honest smile, wondering briefly about the lion she had met. Would they stay together? She really didn't know; but she realized that even if they didn't, she would always have that one night they had shared together.

"Oh I'm sorry, I was lost in thought." She said, feeling her cheeks get red. How rude she was! "I do believe this humidity has gone to my head." She said with a small chuckle, her tail flicking again. "Have you been in the jungle long? I don't know how you could do it; I suppose you're just very rugged." She smiled slyly.

Rugged. That was something he could like. He let his own tail flick at her comment, letting it toss around in his mind as he offered her a slow nod. Wait, a nod? Crap. Well, he'd play along with it. It was his screw up, he'd have to cover it up with some smooth words. At least he had been here before, so he had a grasp of it moreso than if this was his first time here.

"Yes, well. I did have a friend that lived here," he said, thinking about that queen-like leopard that had claimed it was all her land. Faaar from a friend, really. "And I had returned to see if I could find her again, but alas, it seems I was looking in all the wrong places! So I will retire for now, and perhaps return another day, to see if I can find her again. If not, I will have to assume that she's move on."

He feigned a bit of hurt in his voice, but let any ideas of their real relationship to be decorated in her mind. He didn't care, he doubted that leopard even remembered him well, anyway. It was quite a while ago.
