So, Twiggy and I moved into my dorm room today!
My box has shrunken considerably. Hers has not.
Since Twiggy's never been on a long car ride before, I've been keeping an especially close eye on her. I'm worried that her stress level will cause her to get sick, and so I'm just watching for any signs of illness (such as a damp tail, strange inactivity, or just anything abnormal). Besides that, she and I are going to be sitting around together a lot more now that my house consists of this 6x9 room. She and I are going to see a lot more of each other.
So, I put a tissue in her cage, assuming she would shred it into a cozy nest. I did not realize that, upon closer observation, building a nest out of a tissue would involve her shoving the entire frickin' thing into her mouth. Stupid me thought she was trying to ingest it. I almost took it away.
"Don't eat that! Come on, I gave you broccoli and high-quality hamster mix! Tissue is not yummy!"
I still can't believe my little girl got an entire frickin tissue into her cheek pouches. At least she seems satisfied. xd

Good luck with you and Twiggy in your new dorm! :'D I hope so too. xd As long as she doesn't decide to develop a bad scent, she and I should be fine. And my hamster isn't actually eating it, she's just shoving it in to get it damp then shredding it. She also is chewing on the bars of her wheel to sharpen her teeth a little. It's actually fascinating to spend so much time near her, watching her, because her mannerisms are so fascinating.

Sibeiko Lawls! Pets can be funny! ^_^ Yeah, it's even nice to watch her sleeping. xd It's cute when she twitches, and funny when she wakes up just to clean herself a little. EDIT: And she's trying to shred the tissue up more. It's just so weird. xd

News: o_o So, I cleaned Twiggy's cage and put five pieces of toilet paper into her cage for her to nest in.
She decided to move her nest, so when I put them in where she nested before, she shoved three sheets into her cheekpouches, along with some food, at once.
How much crap can my hamster put into her mouth?!

My doggy eats anything.
Except pees.
Even if you put them in his food he eats all the the food around it and spits the pees on the flor xD

Except pees.
Even if you put them in his food he eats all the the food around it and spits the pees on the flor xD

My dog does that, but with her arthritis pills. xd I got to slip it to her in a piece of lunchmeat. But Twiggy's been holed up in her box since I cleaned her cage. Which is odd, because she's never cozyed down in her wooden box before. She used to be a little black lump in the corner behind the wheel. xd

An update on how adorable my hamster is: I just cleaned her cage, and now she's sitting in a front corner giving herself a bath. X3 She is licking, scratching, chewing, and brushing all the nooks and crannies on her body... and it's CUTE! She's just chewing her tail and leg, and scratching herself like a puppy. It's even better because her body is black, but her paws are white. It's like she's giving herself a glove test wth those little white gloves! X3 Also-  That is Twiggy. xd You have no idea how hard it was to make her hold still. She's sitting on my pillow. She then proceeded to chew a hole in the pillowcase.

I once took care of the hamster of our class in the holidays. It escaped from the cage, and my cat almost killed it. So no hamsters for me sadly sad Awww. You'd just have to get a non-escape cage. sweatdrop Twiggy lives in a glass tank with a heavy metal cover. I put a book over the top to weigh it down. She's not getting out. xd

 Toastie had a pirate-ham once.
She's had a ton of hamsters... all named herbie. Except for Bert, but Pirate Herbie took care of him... crying
We bought two hamsters when herbie 4 died... they were supposed to be Bert and Ernie, but Ernie looked like Herbie 4, so he ended up being Herbie 5. AKA: Pirate Herbie.
See... Toastie's cat liked mice.. and Herbie 5 got a little too close to the side of the cage once when kitty was there, so kitty took a swipe and Herbie lost his eye. He looked like a pirate, all squinty because the other eye was gone. After a trip to the vet he was fine, but he never got his eye back. Therefore he became Pirate Herbie, killer of Bert. He didn't like bert for some reason... so he made him walk the plank...off of their hammy house... O_O☼ ìn my sσƒt sεrvε drεαms...

They don't get along and will fight to the death. Also, two male dwarf hamsters, though they're normally social, will also fight and they can get too rough. ... Or did he really make Bert walk off the table? o_o A hamster can potentially have fatal injuries after a fall of only 6 inches.
