He had lead the odd mare down to the lake as promised, letting the silence linger between them for a time before picking up conversation. He was beginning to learn a bit more about her... Or maybe she was starting to learn more about him. Either way, it wasn't nearly as hard to pry responses out of her now as it had been then... Not completely, at least.
Several weeks passed and when the snows came he insisted that she stay near. As rude as he had tendancy to be from time to time he was not so rude as to leave her to fend for herself in bad weather. He found a nice, comfortable thicket to bed down and there they'd stayed, wandering out only as they'd needed to.
One morning the emerged, stretching his long legs out before giving his head a toss, turning back towards the opening. "I believe it is safe to come out now, lass."

Being essentially trapped in the same place had done wonders for her. She enjoyed not having to worry about where to go or what to do. Magus made sure that she got up in the mornings and there was food around and he always found some way to entertain her.
As the weather had cleared she'd started to notice it but hadn't thought much of it. It was easier to just keep the the same schedules. No worries.
When he spoke to her in the morning she tilted her head toward him. "Safe? Was it that horrible before?"

"It was cold and heavy snow is often hard to walk through... Harsh winds also bite." He nodded slowly as he stepped aside, making enough room for her to emerge beside him. "There is a reason why we have been staying in one place, lass."

"You did not tell me that." She hadn't bothered to ask either when you got right down to it. She had just gone along with what he said because, well, he'd said it. "I liked it"

"You did not ask." He smirked teasingly. "Perhaps if you ask more questions you will recieve more answers... A lesson to remember for the day." He nodded slowly before taking another few steps forward, stretching out his limbs as he did so. "It was pleasant. I believe that the company made it more so."

"Oh ... yes then." He had been teaching her many lessons while they had been hiding away from the cold. Shaking herself out she stretched before looking out through the trees. "Are ... we going to get breakfast?"

He had been trying to teach her at least one 'lesson' a day in hopes of getting her to be a bit more of her own person and a little less what she thought she was supposed to be. "A good first question to start with, lass." He chuckled softly before nodding his head, ears swiveling to hold his hat in place as he did so. "We are. We might even be able to find some sweeter grasses beneath the melting snow."

"That sounds nice." She smiled as she shook out her legs so that it wouldn't hurt to walk. "Perhaps a stream?" She could go for a nice cool drink to go along with the grass that they might find.

"That sounds like a fine idea, lass." He nodded slowly, turning in the direction of a nearby stream. He had found some buds beginning to form on the small bushes near by it not long ago... Soon there would be plants blooming everywhere. "I should let you make the decisions for the day, Koukla, my dear."

"Oh no .... i wouldn't be good at that." She shook her head slightly as she followed after him. If she started making decisions then she would probably do something that he didn't like and she couldn't have that.

"You might be. You would never know unless you tried, of course." He nodded before glancing back over his shoulder, pausing for a moment until she was walking beside him instead of behind him. "... What did I tell you about lingering behind?"

"I ... do not think that is such a good idea." It was enough that she had asked if they were getting breakfast. She didn't need to be controlling what they did the rest of the day. HE could think of those things better than she could.
"I wasn't lingering ... i was just walking." He just walked faster than her and ... she was used to walking behind stallions.

"It might be a good idea." He nodded slowly as he turned his head to glance at her for a moment. "Maybe tomorrow... Do you think you might be ready to try that tomorrow?" His brow lofted slightly, a teasing grin curving the corners of his muzzle. "Should I walk slower for you?"

"Should i be?" She titled her head slightly as she looked at him. She wasn't sure how fast you were suppose to do these lessons that he was teaching her. "I really wouldn't want to impose if you'd rather do something else. And you don't need to walk slower. I don't mind being a bit behind"

"I do not know, Koukla... That is why I asked you." He watched her for a moment in return. "You are not imposing if I am asking, are you? And perhaps I do not want you to walk behind me... I might enjoy being able to see you walking along beside me."
