There had been a good length of time when the winds had been too harsh for him to take to the skies. The storms had rolled in bringing with them more snow than he'd ever recalled seeing before. It had fallen and fallen until he was sick of it, wondering it it would ever end.
It did, of course, as all things of that nature do. The snow stopped and, eventually, the air warmed until it began to melt, making the streams rush and the gentle breezes return. Spring was nearing... But it wasn't coming soon enough.
He was in the sky now, testing his strength and the air itself. His wings were getting sore but he wasn't yet ready to give in and land. If he didn't push himself just a bit further he'd never know just how much he would have to work to get himself back to what he'd been before the snow. He would get there... Eventually.

She kicked at a bit of the lingering snow that had stuck to her hooves and huffed. Stuff was everywhere and she would be glad to see it gone. Tossing her name out of her face she trotted away from the stand of trees she'd been napping in and out into the bright sunlight of the early morning.
She stretched out in the sunlight and looked up as a shadow passed over her. Looking up she frowned. Of course someone would be up there ruining her sun. One of those feather heads no doubt. Silly things always had to find the best spots to fly in and those spots always had to be the ones she wanted to sun in peacefully.

He caught an upward draft, catching enough air to roll before spreading his wings wide to lift his body even once more. He had forgotten just how good it felt to be that free... But damn, he was going to pay for it in a few hours. He could already feel the muscles pulling; it was time to land.
He circled around a few times, whirling lower with each pass until he was able to glide low enough for hooves to catch the ground. He trotted for a distance until he was comfortable enough to slow down, shaking his wings out before pulling them against his body. That had felt great.

She raised a brow as the feather brain landed not far from her. "Hoping somethings around to watch you show of big boy?" She grinned as she stopped to look at him.
She hadn't seen a feather head quite like him before. He seemed overly ... well grand. Almost like he was meant to either be showing off or shown off. She wasn't quite sure which though.

"That?" He laughed as he turned his head towards the sound of the voice, a grin curving the corners of his mouth. "... That wasn't showing of. That was just practice." The grin turned into a smirk as he flexed his wings out before carefully drawing them back down to his sides. "Why? See something you like?"

"Hardly" She rolled her eyes. "What i saw was some featherhead blocking my sun." She grinned at him before moving slowly to walk around him so she could get a better look.

"Your sun, eh? Kind of hard to see a name written on something like that with how bright it is... Here I thought the sun belonged to everyone." He smirked as he held still, resisting the urge to flex his wings as she moved around him. "Shouldn't you ask my name before inspecting me like that?"

"Nope, all mine today." She grinned. "Meant for me alone, everyone else is just stealing it from me." She came back around so he would be able to see her after a moment. "What if you didn't meet inspection. Why would i want to know your name then?" She tilted her head slightly. He had passed but if he was going to ask then she was going to have to poke a bit at him.

"Greedy little thing, aren't you?" his brow lofted slightly as he turned his head to look at the mare. "Going by that theory, I'm sure a mare like you would know very little names... I bet you've got high standards."

"Greedy, me? Never." She stopped and grinned at him. "I know plenty of names. It just happens most were given to me without me asking" Usually they were given to her in hopes that she'd appreciate them she supposed. It rarely turned out that she did appreciate them.

"Well, this is one name you won't be getting without asking." He smirked, white feathers fluffing as he turned away from the mare. He'd seen a stream not far from where he'd landed when he was up in the sky... It was somewhere in this direction...

She shook her head slightly. All those feather heads were all the same. They all thought they were the greatest gift to the world and heaven forbid someone not act like it. She wondered idly how many silly girls had swooned over him before.

He glanced over his shoulder after a moment, brow lofting slightly. "So, Beautiful... Are you coming with me so I might have a chance of getting your name out of you? Or are you just going to stand there until someone else blocks your sun?"

"Well since you asked." She tossed her mane out of her face and headed after him. She didn't have much else to do and baiting a stallion sounded like it could be fun. At least he seemed intelligent enough to not be boring in his attempts to get her name out of her.

"I could also ask you what a girl like you was doing in a place like this... But I'm sure you've heard that one before." He smirked, giving his head a light toss before glancing back at her. "Mind telling me what other lines you've heard before so I know ahead of time not to use them?"
