My class has a history of it.
Once last year I found a Daisy(flower) in my clarinet. The French Horn (john) behind me found a peanut in his. One of the sax's found a sock in their sax. And another time I found a fork in my clarinet, not sure how it could even get there, but it was there.

I remember one time - this was in my room, I never even took the thing outside - but I was playing and I turned my French Horn upside down to clean out the spit.....and a bee comes flying out of the bell....I was like wtf? How did I hold my hand in there that long and not get stung?

When my band was practicing for our field show, our tuba player turned over his instrument and popcorn and a few napkins fell out.

Deaf_Silver When my band was practicing for our field show, our tuba player turned over his instrument and popcorn and a few napkins fell out. thats why you never leave a sousa unatended around food, especialy at a football game (turn the bell the opposite direction to avoid people who want some target practice when walking past them!)

One time, (this didn't even happen when I was in school. It was a in about '9 cool our middle school band director told us that one day, one of his clarinet players came up to him and told him that her clarinet wouldn't play. He took off her reed, and there were live maggots under neath it. And that's why, he told us, you have to take off your reed EVERY time you put up your reed instrument.
xp
Gross.

I found a sandwich in my euphonium last year.
Last year a few seniors decided to put food in random instruments.

ew, maggots?! I put a sock down my sax every night on purpose because that's were I keep my mouthpiece/ ligiture and it keeps it safer in there that the pouches on the side. And one kid found a battery in his trumpet. He couldn't get a sound out of it at all and the BD got mad at him and took the thing and said "Dude!" I'm not kidding, thirty some says DUDE. "You have something in it!" He takes it and bangs the bell on the ground and out rolls a battery. The BD just looked at him like he was insane as the kid went, "COOL, A BATTERY!" and picked it up and started to play with it. My BD asked him how it got in there and the kid said his little brother was playin with it the night before! morel, never let little sibs play with instrament!!!

As for me? Nothing, really. neutral
