Thick furred paws stepped lightly on the new and fresh grass. It was very bright and small, still in the stages of baby grass. And all her wonderful snow was gone. The ulaya sniffed the new ground with drooped ears, before moving on ahead. She passed flowers and bushes, and sometimes the occasional stream of water from melted snow. Zaha's aqua eyes looked at the water with faint memory, before her nose twitched, and she sneezed. The shift in weather was causing her a late cold. Not much, but just enough to make her sniffle.

It was getting warmer- something that Yves was quite happy with. As his large paws stepped gently upon newly-sprouted grass, he relished in the fact that the ground no longer chilled his feet when he stepped upon it. While the snow was fun to play and roll in, it had a nasty little habit of numbing one's paws after a while. Jogging softly alongside a stream, the ulaya paused for a moment to take a drink from its cool waters. Disrupting him from his short reverie was a soft noise from across the brook- looking up, he was slightly startled to be looking directly into the face of a familiar female.

Eyes reopened to find a...black sky infront of her? No, it was too glossy, and the purple eyes gave it right away that the one before her was a Ulaya. Squeeking lightly, Zaha pounced back a step from the other. W...what? Hey, it was Yves! Her face immediately broke into a grin, despite her pinker nose. "Yves, how are you?" Her purple paws swatted playfully at the other.

Grinning broadly as Zaha also caught sight of him, Yves' tail flicked a bit behind him, body crouching down a bit as she batted at him. A large paw came back in retaliation, playfully pushing her a bit before he settled down and allowed himself to be used as a play toy. "I've been fine," he replied simply, laughing softly, "I've been wandering here and there, not staying in any one place for too long. It's almost relaxing." He paused a moment, reaching around her in attempt to teasingly bat at her tail. "What have you been up to? Keeping out of trouble, I presume~" Another laugh came from his throat, a warm, full sound, slightly dampened by the trees and foliage.

The slighter Ulaya meeped as the grey tipped paw came at her, backing slightly. Then Yves lounged like the feline he was, and Zaha regained her lost ground with a smile. He had been wandering too? Sounded interesting. "Did you discover anything?" She questioned lightly as he pawed her poof of a tail. With his arm curved around her side, it was too easy and tempting as she nipped lightly on his ear. "Me? Trouble? Of course not. But I've done pretty mush the same as you."

"No, nothing really that interesting," he replied, "I just realized that it's better to be in the company of others then to try to strike out by yourself." His large paws came up in a flimsy sort of defense, before he merely craned out his neck to n** at Zaha's shoulder blade as she gnawed on his ear. He rolled back slightly, farther onto his side, exposing his belly in a mock sign of defeat. "Okay, okay, you got me," he replied, laughing, "As long as my ears stay on my head you can do what you'd like." His tail wriggled a bit, rustling the small shoots of grass around his body, like a soft, green blanket. "Where you doing anything in particular at this moment, or were you still just wandering?" he inquired gently, laying his head onto the ground, out of reach of her teeth.

"Oh really? I guess it is, depends on moods really." She could hand;e it either way honestly, though sometimes one way was more fun than the other. And right now, company was more fun. Fur stood on end before smoothing over as he nipped her shoulder. It felt familiar, but this time wasn't harmful. Still, she couldn't help her reactions. Zaha giggled as Yves claimed defeat. She hadn't planned on taking his ears, just chewing on them. "I was just exploring really. Found this tree that had roots above ground, and it was really interesting. Like a hide out!"

Yves raised an inquisitive eyebrow. "Really?" He asked, tilting his head around on the ground, "Is it nearby? I'd love to see it- sounds interesting." He chuckled softly for a moment, ears flicking a little bit. "I've seen roots like that, but never one that you could make a good hideout from, y'know?" Lifting himself off of his side and into a sitting position, the ulaya arched his back and neck a bit to stretch them out, stifling a yawn as he did so.

She nodded honestly to her findings as she stood. "It's really close. We can go see it right now." Zaha resisted yawning herself as Yves adjusted. Stretching her back toes, the female Ulaya then led the way. It was only a distance of the field they were in, some trees and shrubbery, before they reached it. The tree looked like all the others surrounding it, and a few vines hid the secret of its base. Zaha crouched near and nose a certain entrance. "After you~"

Yves trod alongside Zaha as they went, his larger frame easily keeping up with her strides. Violet eyes watched the shrubs and other foliage that they passed, taking in his surroundings with a intense gaze. Coming quickly to the tree, he stepped up towards the branches, watching as the female ulaya pushed away some vines to reveal a small entrance, just large enough for something his size to fit into. Glancing to Zaha for a moment, he grinned. "You're not going to shut me in here if I go first, are you?" he laughed lightly, putting one paw after another, crouched, and crawled easily into the entrance.

Zaha rolled her eyes to his comment, but looked innocent none the less. Once he made inside, she followed suit. The outer vines were about a foot high, but once under their cover another view was revealed. The base under the tree was around four feet deep, high enough to walk around in easily. And there was enough room to seat about two other Ulaya. The cool soil was smooth and perfect for relaxing in. And the walls of vines crept in small glimmers of sunlight, so it wasn't completely dark. A lovely hideaway. "Well, what do you think?"

Looking around, Yves lifted a paw to glance at the smooth soil he had padded onto. His ears pricked as Zaha entered behind him, before he turned to face her. The light that filtered into the hideaway made his coat shimmer softly, making it look many times sleeker than it had previously. He nodded his head to the other ulaya, eyes having adjusted to the lighting shift. "It's great," he replied, tail wiggling a bit, "You're lucky to have found such a nice spot." He smiled broadly, head tipping slightly to the side. "Are you planning on staying here, or just using it for the time being?"

With the shade makeing her glow all the brighter, Zaha walked a circle in the den, taking in all the details. And thankfully there weren't any gross bugs around to bother with. She nodded, indeed it had been luck. "I'd like to stay here, maybe. It would help for when the weather gets too hot." And maybe as a home? But she was undecided on that yet. This was still new lands to her.

"Ahh, I see, I see." he replied, nodding a bit. He circled a few times as well, liking the idea that he could easily stretch himself out and have a bit of room to spare. His eyes caught the soft light on the soil that was coming from Zaha's body, adding a pleasant, cool look to the space. His tail wiggled a bit, before he sat himself down in a comfortable position. "Hmm, I've been thinking too," he started, almost spacing out before he continued, "I know I want to settle and live someplace, but I'm just not sure yet. There's so much to worry about when it comes to that- who else is around? Are there enough resources to survive easily?" He huffed a bit, ear flicking lazily. "It's all more complicated than it should be."

Zaha sat down calmly, cleaning one of her paws while the other examined the place. Her ears nudged every now and then to show she was still listening to Yves. Her grooming paused for a moment. "Oh? I thought you already had a place? Or at least since the last time we met." Was it really as complicated as he made it seem? But yes, she'd have to check out the surrounding area some more before deciding. Hopefully it was graded well enough to stay.
