Mothers, especially single ones, are obligated to take their children everywhere they go. It had been a very long time since Green had been able to spend any time alone and, while she loved each and every one of her children, she was begining to feel the effects of always having them around. Belle, in particular, needed constant supervision. It showed in the ways the petite blonde woman, who was usually incredibly composed, strolled around the little grocery store. Her hair was swept up into a messy bun, to keep it away from her eyes and Belle's prying hands, and the purple sweatpants she wore sported numerous multi-colored spots- clearly, stains from some kind of supper disaster.

Belle, who'd been forced into the metal seat of a shopping cart some time ago, was slowly begining to get over her initial temper tantrum and glancing around at all of the lovely items that sat on the isles surrounding them. She watched carefully as her mother picked something up, examined it and then set it neatly inside the bigger part of the cart.

So, this was what shopping was. It looked like fun. Easy fun.

Her little fingers itched to reach out and snatch everything off of it's shelf and, that was exactly what she did. The toddler let out a maniacal giggle and grabbed at whatever she could get her greedy hands on.

"Belle," Green groaned, pried a container of peanut butter out of her daughter's hands and plopped it back on the shelf unceremoniously, "we already have a lot of that at home."

Belle gave her mother a look that pointedly said; 'Does it look like I care?' and attempted to collect another, bigger jar of peanut butter.

Like all single mothers, Monty, too, was beginning to realize the absoluteness of having to take care of a toddler all on her own. Before it hadn't been so bad, because she could always call her husband if the girls got too bad. Really, neither of her daughters before had been all too bad, so she only had to call once or twice in a great while. But without a husband to call, Monty was beginning to realize the seriousness of her current predicament. It made everyday chores absolutely terrifying.

Especially grocery shopping.

Now, in the beginning, before the leaf wasn't a leaf, Monty could easily go without grocery shopping for a great while. But after Regina decided to pop out of her leaf, and they had made a rather unusual breakfast, Monty had decided that they couldn't go without food anymore. So she bundled Regina up in a jacket she found that belonged to one of the girls, and took her to the nearest grocery store.

Regina was pretty good about getting in the car with her, and coming into the store, but after being forced into that stupid metal seat... Well, she wasn't pleased. "Hurt." She growled at Monty, crossing her arms childishly over her chest as Monty wheeled them into an aisle. "Small." Regina didn't like being confined into the seat, not one bit!

Monty sighed, and stopped the cart, looking at her dejectedly. "Would you like to move into the back, Gina?" She offered. The toddler eyed the cart space behind her, then nodded solemnly. Monty unbuckled her, and lifted her into the back of the cart. Content now, the toddler began to look and sniff around, brown eyes wide and curious.

Monty snorted a little, and smiled, pulling the seat in towards her to fold it in and then wheeling towards the peanut butter. "Let's see..." Before she could actually see anything, Regina reached out, and snatched up a jar of jelly. "Regina!"

The pup looked up at her, and pouted a little, but held out the jar. Monty took it, and after a minute of delegating... She sighed, and handed it back to her. Triumphant, Regina sat back to enjoy the ride.

Wait a minute. Was that other kid riding in the big part of the cart? As Belle lunged towards the shelf and the peanut butter for the second time, she was delighted to discover an entirely different, although just as interesting, something in her peripheral vision. The green eyed toddler was momentarily distracted from her self-appointed shopping task, and suddenly a hell of a lot more intrigued by the other little girl. Or, rather, exactly where she was sitting.

"Look!" Belle exclaimed excitedly, smacked her mother once on the arm and then gestured at the other cart wildly.

Green, who had never perfected the art of toddler language, was experiencing some technical difficulties as she attempted to figure out exactly what her little girl meant. She glanced in the direction Belle was pointing, and furrowed her forehead in confusion.

"Yes, Belle, people." It was a sincere attempt at, well, anything. For the life of her, Green couldn't figure out what Belle was trying to get at.

"No!" Belle exclaimed in annoyance and slammed one hand onto a tiny hip, all the while pointing at the other toddler and her much cooler seat. There was more room to move around in the back. She glanced around at the their collection of groceries and frowned. Apparently, her mother was worried they'd run out.

Understanding hit her like a boomerang right in the spot between her eyeballs. Green made an obvious kind of sound, rolled her eyes at her own stupidity and shook her head once.

"There's no room back there for you."

Monty was completely distracted by trying to figure out whether or not Regina would appreciate chunky or smooth peanut butter, and so the other person and her kid completely escaped her vision. However, the toddler sitting in the cooler seat did not, and she frowned, sniffing at Belle curiously. She looked different, not like some of the little girls she saw outside.

"Monny?" She glanced back at Monty, and arched an eyebrow. ".... Monny." When that still didn't get her attention, she fumed, and shifted in the car. She reached out, and smacked Monty's arm. "Monny!" She ordered, crossing her arms again.

Monty blinked, and looked over, fuming. "What, Gina?" She put the peanut butter back, and looked at where Regina was pointing. She spotted the woman and her daughter and blinked. "... Yeah, so?"

"Diff'ren."

"I see that, Gina." Monty laughed a little, and picked up a jar of creamy peanut butter, putting it in the cart. Regina rolled her eyes, and started to rock the cart towards them to investigate why the little girl smelled and looked different. "Regina, stop!"

Rockrockrock...

"Gina!"

"Diff'ren!" She insisted, fuming at Monty's intervention. Then she went back to trying to rock her cart towards them to investigate. Monty fumed, and rubbed her eyes, grabbing the cart and pushing it down the aisle. And, coincidentally, towards them. Regina sat back, triumphant once more.
