Now with Xbox 360 using software emulation for it's backwards compatibility with original Xbox and with PS3 ridding itself of conventional BC with talks of Software emulated BC and on Wii through Virtual Console. Do you prefer conventional BC over software emulated BC?

Well, at first, the 360 Used Hardware BC for a limited amount of games.
It now uses Updates, which is Software, so it's kinda both.

Either one, as long as it's fully compatible with all games, and it works.
I don't care if it's Orkware, if it's compatible with all my games, and it works, I'm fine.

Emulation.
Well, ever since VC allowed me to suspend play at any time, anyways. Until then, I never really used emulation On Kid Icarus, it's like putting in your own save feature. biggrin

No preference.
I think you do what you need to in order to play your games. NES games are small, not to mention how small we could make NESs. Software would be the best route, as the only ways to emulate the NES would be to solder a chip in or make a USB drive. For all that work, you might as well emulate it as software, because you would need the full sized system to plug a cartridge in.

Well we agree that software emulation is best for instances like VC due to the use of cartridges in the NES, SNES, and N64 days. What about for the other side of the spectrum for BC from one generation to the next? (last gen games)

Especially since Nintendo does it with the Wii so well, if only the Wii would upconvert the Cubes games to 480i than I'd be tickled pink to play Wind Waker again.
