I haven't got to play in a while, and I'm a little concerned about my skill level dropping...Is playing drums like riding a bike, or is this a legit concern?

It really depends on what you're going back to play. If you're just going to play basic concert stuff, or perhaps a Bass Drum, you've got nothing to worry about. Something like the Tenors or the Snare, however, is harder to build up the muscle (or callous) for again. x_x But it is doable, and it only takes a couple of weeks.

You'll definitely be a bit rusty, but it'll come back to you. For instance, when marching season is over for me I'm usually stuck playing snare drum music in my percussion class (ugh!), and then I start mallets in my wind ensemble and it's a bit hard. You'll remember it, though; just start practicing a bit and it'll be fine.

I agree with the two before me but I think it also depends on how long you call a while, if it's been a long time you will have lost that muscle memory and you will need to practice to regain what you once had, during the concert season I always go back and go over old excerises and the show just to keep a groove on things.

yep. you'll defiantly need a bit of practice, but your skill level wont have dropped i don't think unless its been a really long time.
