Where I’ve become so numb...

Clear lay stretched out under a tree, soaked from the rain. Her light brown hair thick with rain water and plastered to her face and back. The cool lush grass made quite a comfortable place to relax on. Though relaxing was the lats thing Clear was doing. She'd been running for what felt like hours, though she knew it was only half an hour or so that she had ran. And now she lay in the clearing, she'd definatly been there for hours. The rain didn't fall as hard here, it was a mist through the canopy of tree branches.

Call my name and save me from the dark...

'Clear...' Dain said quietly, his dark grey eyes looked down to the grass, then shot up to Clear's, pleading with what strength he had from chancing her through the forest and into this clearing.

Little beams of sunlight spilled through the canopy overhead and made dots of light of the grass. Clear stood higher than Dain on rocks at the base of the mountains. Her bright blond hair spilled around her waist, her emerald eyes sadened. 'What reason do I have to stay?'

'For me.' He said after a few moments of hesitation. He gripped Clear's hand and pulled her off the rocks and to the ground, hugging her. 'Would Kaci want you to run?'

Clear sighed, 'That's not a reason.' She pushed Dain away, her eyes filled with regret and depression. 'Those are people. And no one is anything anymore if they can't simply stop me.'

Save me from the nothing I’ve become...

Clear groaned, her abs twisted in pain, she fought back the urge to be sick, hardly succeeding. She closed her eyes, breathing deeply, calming herself. Mist rained down on her, allowing her to relax, a little bit. Though relaxing wasn't very much possible for her nowadays. She'd been so moody the past few days, it worried her.

All this time I can't believe I couldn't see...

Her face didn't show much emotion, her eyes had dulled out and her breathign slowed. Her head was pelted with random thoughts, never staying on one topic. Damn ADHD. She blinked a few times, her eyes regaining their glassy look. She gazed up at the canopy of leaves overhead, the cool summer rain was refreshing. Her thoughts wandered around, she couldn't concentrate on one before it was gone.

Don't let me die here...

An umbrela appeared over Clear's head and a little weight was place on her shoulders.

Dain stood next to Clear holding the umbrela over both of them and he had placed his coat on her. He didn't say anything just sat down next to her and left her to her thoughts.

Clear looked up at Dain, "I don't know what to do anymore." Her voice was cold and hard, like she hadn't used it. A cough escaped her throat as she sat up, pulling her hair free of her face and wringing it out. "Why are things so complicated?"

"Because if life was simple it would be no fun," Dain didn't crack a smile and his voice was monotone and serious. He sat down as he said so and slamed the umbrela pole into the ground so he didn't have to hold it.

Wrapping her arms around her knees and pulling them towards her, Clear bit her lip, her thoughts beginning to clear up. Dain had that calming effect. She glanced over at him, "Where's the fun in your heart and sanity being shredded?"

"You can't have happiness without sorrow Clear. The fun comes when you realize the bad momments make the ones that are good all the better," Dain lay down on his back and staeered up at nothing in particular. He layed his head on his hands as well, more to keep his hair dry than anything.

Her eyes snapped back to infront of her. Clear's expression hardened as she began to think more. "But where are the good times anymore?" She did one of those halfsmiles to try to make herself feel better, to try to shoo off the fact that she couldn't stop thinking about those remaining days under Atropos's control. Her stomach turned again and once more she fought off that feeling of nausia.

"Not even an Athenain scholar could tell you Clear. You'll just have to look for yourself," was Dain's simple answer.

"You don't seem to want to help." Clear said boldly. She sounded a bit disappointed, like she had been drawn away. She sighed, coughing again. The run in the rain was probably a bad idea.

"I figured logic would be more effective in helping you than if I played on your emotions," He then sat up and leaned on an elbow to better look at Clear," though is your asking.."" he then raised an eyebrow and had a smirk on his lips.

Clear groaned, falling back to the ground. Her eyes looked up at Dain, inspecting his eyes. "I think we should go speak with the Oracle. There are some things I need to know, and I think that old mummy can answer them." She climbed off the grass, still fairly wet. "Go with me?"

Dain nodded and got up. he let Clear keep the jacket and pulled the umbrela out of the ground, "Yeah lets go me our Fate."

Clear looked up at Dain with eyes that begged to smile as she pulled his jacket on over her wet clothes. She huddled close to him under the umbrella, wrapping her arms around his waist as they walked. "I don't think I want to know my fate."

The walk to the Big House, a large farm house that served as the camp headquarters, was long and silent. Neather said a word until Chiron meet up with them and asked what they where doing out in this rain.

Clear's deadly eyes met the centaur's, a look of mixed emotions swirled about them. "I need to speak with the Oracle. I need to know why all this is happening and what's to come." Her voice was shaky, and she herself was shivering under Dain's arm. Chiron nodded, reluctantly though.
