.. Khajag. Your name is Khajag..
He froze ontop of the lioness above him, for a moment allowing joy to sweep over hm. His name! He'd found out his name-- Khajag! He looked down at the linoess with a smiler, but she wasn't looking at him, and he remembered what he'd just been doing.
"I-- " He opened his mouth, but froze, eyes growing distant. It came like a flash.
A lion walked through the jungle, orange and quite a stand-out in the green and brown scenery. However, he didn't care, he was simply going for a drink. He knew the forest was beautiful, but didn't seem to care. He walked through the ferns, pressing through bushes until finally the sound of the waterfall wasn't just a sound. There it was.. water.
He smiled, walking towards it and crouching at the edge, lapping the cool liquid then flicking his ear. Something else was coming. Great.. He wasn't exactly prone to enjoy whatever company was coming.
A lioness stepped out somewhere nearby, head low as she at first didn't even look at the lion, then snapping her gaze up once a flash of orange came into view. "Oh.. " She blinked, at first seeming genuinely surprised. "I'm sorry if I disturbed you! I. .I was just coming for a drink. " She said with unease, moving a ways around the water's edge, crouching beside it and lapping in some water herself, only more quickly.
He blinked quietly. A lioness... Khajag didn't say anything at first, merely watched her at the waters edge, tail twitching slowly from side to side. She was.. rather good looking. Perhaps he could amuse himself with this meeting, oh yes..
"Its quite alright, " He said, smiling a false smile, but only he knew how fake it was. "After all, I don't own the place or anything! " He said sweetly, even though in the back of his mind, a plan was coming together.
She blinked, lifting her gaze from the water an looking at them. "Oh! Ok then. " She smiled, clearly not noticing, or suspecting, that he wasn't exactly as nice as he seemed.
"I'm Avani, whats your name? " She smiled, twitching her tail and standing up, looking at the lion.
Ah.. this would go so nicely. Naive female, or yes. "My name.. its Khajag. Pleasure to meet you. " for a moment he'd considered giving her a false name, but decided against it. It didn't matter at all if he gave her the right name or not.
"so, Avani, what brings you to the jungle? " He smiled smoothly, walking towards her and then standing face to face. "Do you live here? "
She smiled, this seemed like a nice guy! "Nice to meet you too, Khajag! " she sat down, curling her tail around her paws and blinking at his question.
"Oh, I.. I travel around a lot, I have no home. " She nodded, curling her tail slightly. "I'd like to someday, but for now.. I'm alone. " She smiled.
Ooh.. she was just making it easier. "Really? I'd like a family someday too, but I'm also just a lonely traveler. " He smiled, walking around her once. My my, she was rather pretty. How perfect! And it'd been some time since he'd enjoyed some.. 'female company'. He smirked to himself, but it looked just like a smile from the outside.
"Why don't you find some company, though? " Just to make sure there was no one that could get in his way.
She attempted to follow him as he walked around her, but there was simply a point her neck didn't turn anymore, so she had to snap her head the other way to follow him. He wanted a family.. She did take a mental note on that, as distracted as she usually was. "I just never found anyone.. y'know, special. " She smiled, tilting her head.
"Or anyone that really wanted to travel with me. " She grinned, sweat dropping slightly.
"Oh really? I'm sure many would love to travel with a pretty girl like you! " He beamed, even though in his mind it was rather sickening at how.. chipper he was needing to act. At least she was seeming to like him, though.
"So, would you like to go for a walk with me, Avani? "
She blinked. Pretty? With a slight blush, Avani leaned backwards a bit, looking at her paws shyly then glad for the subject change. "A walk! I'd love to go with you! " she smiled, standing up and trotting towards the forest again.
"Do you know many neat spots.."
He was back to himself, and Avani herself, pinned beneath him. For the first time, he noticed the blood slipping through the wounds-- the wounds he'd made. Gasping, he stumbled off of her. "I.. I didn't mean.. I don't know what.. " He gasped, eyes wide as he stared at his paws. What had he done..?
Though, he wa smore shocked over this memory. He did know Avani. and he even remembered his thoughts... His thoughts. His dirty little thoughts. "P-please forgive me-- I-I don't know what came over me-- "
"Save it. " Came the voice from the freakishly still pile of fur, the lioness looking blankly ahead, away from him. "I never expected any better from you.. " She closed her eyes, curling into a tight ball. "I'm disappointed. I've been since you left.. " She sighed.
Left..? He hadn't.. No, he couldn't have. He couldn't have been that bad.. "I.. " The orange male said, suggling to his paws and taking a step closer, still rather in shock. "I didn't mean to-- "
"Just go. " She said, more loudly and strongly this time, tightening the ball. Avani heard a sort-of hybrid sigh, then paws scrabbling quickly as the lion didn't just leave.. he fled. Khajag was gone.. Good riddance. She wished him to never come back, to stay away.. forever, never find her again.
And so she cried herself silently to sleep.
