Maha! I'm finally post a story, well, faniction, but anyway.. This is a fanfiction for the show Blood Ties. If you've watched the show this is after Deep Dark, and if you haven't, you should watch it because it's the best show in the world! Yes, anyway, without further ado, here is the first chapter of Hello and Goodbye!

Hello and Goodbye

“Vicki!”

Startled awake Vicki shot up from her chair, knocking over the alarm clock on the desk as she did so. She cursed but didn’t make any movements to pick it up, instead she looked at the person in front of her. Luckily she had fallen asleep with her glasses on so she could see who it was. “Coreen?” She asked, relaxing slightly. “What are you doing here? Didn’t I-”

“Fire me?” Coreen asked, finishing her sentence for her. “Yeah, but we both know you don’t mean it.”

“Right,” Vicki said, taking off her glasses and massaging the bridge of her nose with her other hand. “So, are you going to tell me why you’re here?” She asked, dropping her hand and placing her glasses back on.

“I’m worried about you, Vicki. I mean, you haven’t been out of this office in days, and it looks like you haven’t slept much either. Have you eaten at all?” Coreen asked with a frown.

“Yes Coreen, I’ve eaten, and no, I haven’t slept much.” Vicki told her with a sigh.

“Dreams again?”

“M‘hm.”

“Same one about..” Coreen knew better then to mention Henry’s name. The first few times she had it seemed like Vicki just.. went somewhere else, somewhere that Coreen couldn’t bring her back from.

“Yep.” It was the exact same dream except this time it went farther. This time, he had actually kissed her. She could still feel his lips on her own. Even though it was only a dream it had felt so real.. “Coreen, I have to go somewhere, can you do me a favor?”

“Of course, anything,” she replied. “Where you going?”

“I.. I’m going to Henry’s. Can you stay here and take my calls?”

Coreen’s eyes widened, “Sure, but are you really going to Henry’s?”

Vicki nodded, “I have to Coreen. It‘s the only way.”

"But Vicki, you don't need to go there. You and I both know he isn't there," Coreen said, hoping it was a successful lie. Henry was trusting her, and so she had try to stop Vicki as best she could.

"No, Coreen, I don't know that he's not there," Vicki said and then her eyes narrowed, "Is there a reason you don't want me going?"

"N-no, I just don't want you to get any more upset then you already are, Vicki."

"Coreen, what are you not telling me?"

"Nothing."

"Coreen."

"No, it's nothing, really. I just want you to be happy, that's all. If you really have to see for yourself that he's gone though, go." Oh god, Henry, forgive me, Coreen thought to herself.

Vicki was going to try and get it out of her but there was no point. Coreen was most likely just worried for her, and she understood. She walked past Coreen and got her coat from the rack "Alright, I'm going. If I'm not back in a little while, you'll know why."

Coreen nodded, "Okay. I hope you get what you're looking for."

“I hope so too,” Vicki told her before opening the door and leaving the office.

Coreen sighed as she bent down to pick up the alarm clock from the floor. Her eyes shut as she heard Henry’s voice in her head.

“I am placing my trust in you with this matter."

“I’m sorry, Henry,” she said as she stood, placing the alarm clock back on the desk.

-------

Vicki quickly walked down the hallway and soon found herself in front of Henry’s door. She raised her fist to knock on the door but hesitated, dropping her fist. What if he was here? What would she say? Oh hey Henry, how’s it going? Vicki took in a breath, she hoped it didn’t come to having to confront him. Hopefully her dreams would be wrong, he would be gone, but what would she do then?

She had gotten so used to working with Henry, him being there when she needed help. Vicki hated to admit it, but she took him for granted. It was like the saying, ‘you don’t know what you’ve got until it’s gone.’ She would manage though, she would have to. Taking down Astaroth, dealing with supernatural cases, she’d have to do it all on her own. Alright, here I go. Raising her fist once more she gave three strong raps to the door. Vicki wasn’t expecting the door to open, and she certainly wasn’t expecting to see who she saw. “H- Henry,” she said, her eyes wide with surprise.

“Vicki.” Henry had smelt her a soon as she had left the elevator and that defiantly surprised him, but it was much different than seeing her. She hadn’t changed much, but yet she had changed a lot. The bags under her eyes were never that dark; had she not been sleeping?

He.. Hadn’t left. Relief flooded her immediately until she thought more on it. He hadn’t left., so there had to be a reason. “Why are you still here?”

Henry raised a brow, “I thought Coreen would have told you that.” He was pretty sure Coreen had told her. Henry trusted Coreen of course, but it was inevitable that she would tell, especially when it involved Vicki.

“Coreen? Why would.. Wait, Coreen knew!?” How could Coreen know and not tell her?

“I just don't want you to get any more upset then you already are.”

Wouldn’t she think that seeing Henry would make her happier? Of course she would, so Henry must have done something.. Anger quickly replaced any relief or happiness that she had felt. “What did you do to Coreen?”

“What did I do? Nothing; I don’t always have to use my powers to persuade people not to talk, Vicki.” Henry told her with a frown. Coreen didn’t tell her; he’d have to apologize later.

Vicki matched his frown with a glare, “Then why didn’t I know? Why didn’t you tell me?”

Henry shook his head, “I don’t want to discuss this, Vicki.”

Vicki folded her arms across her chest, “Well I do, Henry, and I’m not leaving until we discuss it.”

“Fine. It’s because it will make it easier for both of us.”

“For both of us to what?”

He sighed, “To forget about one another.”

Vicki’s eyes widened, “ To forget? But you’re obviously staying, to deal with Astaroth I presume, and I am going to help of course, so why?”

“I’m not staying Vicki. I’m here only until Augustus finalizes the move, and then I’ll be gone. Astaroth will follow, so there’s no need to worry about that. He wants power, and that’s what he can get from me.” Complete lies, but that had to be told. Like he had told Coreen, it would be best for Vicki to believe he was moving on.

Vicki could feel herself starting to break. He was really moving. She had to be strong though, breaking down right now would just make it worse. “Do you really believe that Henry? You think Astaroth is really going to follow you, after he’s tried so hard to get to me? We- I need you here, Henry.” One last time, she had to try, she had to try and get him to stay.

Henry kept his serious composure. He could not falter, as much as her words hit his heart, he couldn’t. “Vicki, I’m leaving, and there’s nothing that can be said that will stop that fact.”

She had to keep trying. In her heart she knew it was a lost cause but she had to keep trying, she had to. “But Henry-”

“Why don’t you go ask Michael for help?” That had done it. By the look of shock on her face he knew. “Goodbye Vicki,” Henry said, shutting the door. I’m sorry, he finished the sentence in his head, turning and leaning his back against the door.

Vicki stood for a moment, staring at the closed door in front of her. So that was it, he was gone. Dammit, she cursed in her head, tears threatening to spill from her eyes. No, not yet, not here. She wouldn’t cry, especially because she knew Henry could hear. Turning she walked her way back to the elevator and entered it. Pushing the button on the control pad she rested her back against the elevator wall, waiting for the elevator to descend.

--------

“Vicki, you’re back. How’d it go?” Coreen asked as Vicki entered the office.

Vicki looked at Coreen, her expression emotionless. “You knew,” she said, her voice as expressionless as her expression.

Coreen’s eyes widened, “Vicki I-”

“Leave, Coreen.”

“But Vicki-”

“Coreen, please.”

She sighed, “Alright.” Coreen knew something like this was going to happen. How could it not? She had basically lied to Vicki, she’d feel the exact same way if the situation was reversed.

Vicki stood patiently holding the door as Coreen walked past her, and was surprised when Coreen stopped and turned to look at her.

“I’m sorry, Vicki. I wanted to tell you, but Henry made me swear not to. I knew how it would make you feel, but-”

Vicki shook her head, which made Coreen stop. “It’s okay Coreen. I just need you to leave, okay? I need to be alone right now,” she told her, managing to smile slightly.

Coreen smiled, “Okay, I’ll come over tomorrow?”

She nodded, “Yeah, sure.”

“Tomorrow then. Goodnight.”

“Night,” Vicki said before Coreen left. Closing the door Vicki made her way to the couch and sat, placing her head in her hands. He was really gone. His words stung her.

“Why don’t you go ask Michael for help?”

How could he say something like that? Did he really mean it? And anyway, Mike refused to talk with her. Besides Coreen, she had no one. With this thought she finally let the tears come. “Goodbye Henry,” she whispered.

I read it, but I don't know the story, so I have no idea what's going on. If I don't know the plot or how the characters are originally, I can't comment much on how you portrayed them in this story.

I can say, however, that it was written very well. Straightforward, but it still flowed well. I liked it.

Well basicly the show revolves around A P.I and ex-cop, Vicki Nelson, and she meets a handsome 450 year old vampire named Henry Fitzroy. They solve supernatural cases with help from Vicki's teen gothic assistant Coreen Fennel and sometimes her ex partner and lover Mike Celuci.

In the first episode your intrduced to eacher character, Vicki and Henry become partners to track down this guy who summoned a demon, and Coreen become Vicki's assistant because Vicki saved her from becoming a sacrifice to bring in the head demon Astaroth. But things get ugly when the summoner guy turnes Vicki into the sacrfice but Henry saves her and everything. Vicki comes out of the situation with demon brands though.

The series then goes on with Vicki and Henry solving cases and the love triangle between Mike, Vicki, and Henry thickining all the while. The last episode is with Astaroth possesing Coreen, and Vicki saves her instead of sending Astaroth back to hell. Mike gets fed up in the end of the episode, kisses Vic, and leaves. Henry, who's planning to move, asks Vicki to come with him.

She refuses, which caused me to yell at the computer a whole lot.. and so Henry leaves the room and that's pretty much where it leaves off; Vicki hurt and heartbroken. The show's much more in depth though, and much greater then my discription. Blood Ties is a definate must see ^^

And thanks Kitty. I'll post chapter two if I get more reviews.
