Snow had been falling for a few days now. Everything Spotty could see was covered in a layer of white. The morning air was crisp and the stallion let out a shiver that shook his braided mane. He decided to get up and go for a walk to stretch his cold joints. Walking slowly, he made his way through the snow which made its way up to his knees. It had been a while since the snow was this deep.

The scenery was untouched and Spotty didn't see any other Soquili out. Maybe it was just too early, or maybe it was too cold. Either way Spotty hoped to find someone to play with. He had meet someone before, but she was nowhere in sight now. So Spotty figured that he would just continue to wander around. Then perhaps he would come across someone else.

November walked through the snow, shivering a bit. It was so cold, something she wasn't really used to. She usually stayed inside the teepee on days like this, but decided to see the snow before it melted away. She hadn't been walking long before she spotted something in the snow. It looked like a multi-colored snowdrift, but she knew that there weren't such things. Curious, she walked towards it.

The cold silence was suddenly interupted by the sound of snow crunching under hooves. Spotty looked around and saw a mare not too far off. She was a natural brown, much different than the stallion's mixture of rainbow spots. Spotty smiled and started off in the mare's direction. Maybe today would turn out to be different. He grew excited at the thought of having some company or someone to play a game with.

As she got closer, she noticed that what she thought was a snowdrift was really a rainbow spotted stallion. He smiled at her, so she smiled back, thinking that she may have found a playmate on this cold day. She walked up to him, smiled shyly, and said, "Hello! My name is November. What's yours?" Truth be told, November liked his spots. They were very bright and colorful, and she liked to look at them.

Spotty felt like he could jump from excitement when the mare approached him. It had been too long since the last time he had played a game of tag or even had a conversation with another Soquili. "I'm Spotty Paws," he replied back with a smile, "But you can call me Spotty." The stallion thought his whole name was a bit funny and wasn't usually addressed with it.

November...the name fit the mare perfectly. She reminded Spotty of the cool autumn weather and the crisp leaves that fell from the trees. "It's nice to finally meet someone out here!" he said with a laugh, "I was beginning to wonder where everyone was."

November thought that Spotty's name fit him very well, as he had spots. She didn't quite understand the "paws" part, because he had spots everywhere, not just his feet, but other than that brief bit of confusion, she managed herself with poise.

"Yes, I was beginning to wonder about that, too." November said, tossing her mane. "It seems that there is no one else outside right now. I think it's because of all the snow." She pranced in the snow, laughing.

Spotty wasn't quite sure why no one was out today. He always loved the snow and played in it whenever possible. The cold did become a pest after a while though. But without a teepee, there was no way he could escape it.

He followed the mare, "I don't see how anyone could resist this," he flicked a bit of snow up at November and smiled, "The snow is quite fun."

November laughed as the snow brushed her fur. She flicked some snow back at Spotty. "The snow is very fun. I like it very much, even if it does freeze my hooves." she said, smiling at him. She was very happy to have met him, as he was very friendly, and seemed a good playmate for her. November lived all by herself, with no herd to call her own. She had been feeling a bit lonely lately, and she thought that a friend might be exactly what she needed.

Spotty shook as the snow hit him, though he didn't really notice the cold. The sun was out and no wind was blowing, so he saw no reason for others to be locked away in their teepees. But Spotty was just happy to have found November. Winter weather was often too quiet pr lonely for Spotty, especially since he had no family.

"I bet a walk or a game would warm up your hooves," he hinted with a friendly smirk. It would only get colder if the two stayed where they were.

"That would be fun!" November said, smiling at him. "I bet that would warm up my hooves." November was very happy to have found Spotty. She wondered what the game would be. She was very curious. "Maybe tag?" she wondered, thinking about all the different games they could play.

Spotty's ears perked when November mentioned tag. It had been a while since he had played it. It was one of the stallion's favorite games. He could only imagine that it would be even better in the snow. "Tag it is then," he replied, "I'll be the tagger first, how about I give you a head start?" He knew it would be harder to run in the layers of snow.

"Okay." November said, smiling happily. "This will be fun!" she said to him, right before taking off into the snow. The snow was hard to run in, and it slowed her down considerably, but she felt so wild and free galloping through it. She felt like no one could catch her. But, Spotty was a stallion after all, endowed with more strength than she. He was sure to catch her.

Spotty waited until November was pretty far ahead of him. It would be interesting to see how fast he would be able to run in the snow. After all, he hadn't done it in such a long time.

As Spotty had expected, it was hard to run in the snow. But he enjoyed seeing the trail left by his hooves. As he ran snow went flying up in the air beside him. It was almost like running through the water. Looking up Spotty could see that November was still many many feet ahead of him.

November's ears pricked back at the sound of Spotty's gaining hoofbeats. November used everything she had in an attempt to outrun him. Yet, the stallion gained on her steadily, despite all her efforts. November was flushed with excitement and adrenaline from the run. She didn't give up, but ran on as fast as she could. She plowed through the snow, feeling it brush her coat as it flew past her.

The two horses had left a trail behind them from all the running. He hadn't run very far but the stallion had warmed up already and had forgotten about the cold air. November was closer now and Spotty could have grabbed her tail but decided against the idea. Instead he ran up beside her, a smile forming over his face.
