I say wait for the 80gig one to come out. Coz the 40gig one cant play ps2 games and it has a really crap blue-ray lazer thing. And apparently the 80gig is going to be top of the range technology and can play ps2 and ps games.

well even if you cant play ps 1 games, if you have ps2 games at your house then obviously u had a ps2 in ur house. and ps 1 games are compatible with ps2. i have a ps3, and it is pretty amazing, but if i were you when you buy, they ask if you want to buy the replacement warranty, cuz they say the machine breaks down a lot. but mine is fine

the 80 gig is better to get than the 40 gig. for one thing it has 4 usb ports. if ur gonna get a game like rock band, you'll need the four usb ports, and the forty gig only has two. so you'll have to buy the adapter to get the extra usb ports for like $30.00. 40 gig also doesnt have as much wireless capabilities.

does the 80gig have a wireless thing so i can play online from my room without plugging anything in??

yeah it does. i forget where it is in settings, but u go into the internet settings, and switch it to a wireless connection. and Playstation 3's internet is free unlike the 360
|

Sabotaged Angel, the 80 gig also has ports for SD memory cards, memory stick duo, and one other that i cant remember, also the 80 gig can play super audio cds if need be, but the 40 gig can't, and the forty gig doesnt have the ports for the three memory cards i mentioned.
and to BloodShot joker, I dont know where you live but I live in virginia, and the 80 gig has been out for awhile. like 6 months

No where in Australia has one. They all stock the 40gig one. Its so gay I was talking to the owner of GameTraders and he said they probably wont get the 80gig in till mid year. crying
