okay im trying to tune my toms really low, and get the flat sound, youve all heard it before, its a lower note but when i try it it sounds really bad, not like a sharp sound like im looking for, i use 2 headed toms on all of them, im going for kind of a metal drummer sound where the toms sound like basses almost
any suggetions?

Umm... you might try getting rings for them to eliminate the undertones... or you could just make dashes of tape around the head of the toms in a circle. Sorry if that doesnt help, Ive never gone Chris Adler/ Joey Jordison style toms. I play it more Neil Peart style.
