Haven't got em yet. But I need to go to the post office and get the 1040 form anyway. This year we have house mortgage interest that we can write off! I hope we get some of it back. I want to put a new sink and cabinet in the bathroom.

We're just waiting on mine. I've got 3 of them coming this year. It's my first year making decent money, so hopefully I'll get a good amount. We also have all our moving receipts and I think that'll give us a little help too.
Some of his money is going to his credit card, some of mine for a new laptop and the rest in our future house fund.
Aw man, can't wait for the house write off one day! hee hee

We each got our first one today! We also have financial aid forms and renter's return. . .just one more W-2 on the way for each of us. smile And then we can file! Yay! I doubt we'll get any money back though because my main job is an on-campus job so they don't take out many taxes. 0.o

You should be able to decide how much you want out of your paycheck. In our case his paycheck is a stipend so I take out extra tax from my paycheck in case we are required to pay tax on his paycheck. I take out extra state and federal. I got my W-2s, but I only filed my 06 returns a month and a half ago.. I should seriously file on time this year. The return should be enough to get me a new laptop hopefully and maybe some nice art for our living room.

I'm just waiting on my wifes so I can do the taxes... By doing the taxes I mean going to my dad and having him do them for us. He's always done them for me... so why stop now and start doing it myself? I think the day he dies is the day I'll be doing my own taxes.

H&R Block for us. I'd like to start doing our own taxes one day.
And don't forget, for us who pay income taxes we get that nice rebate. $1200 for married couples who earn under $150,000. And $600 for individuals who make under 50k. Woo-hoo!

Yeah I just read about that yesterday. Can't wait to get that. My husband and I are going to take a trip this summer to visit my mom while she is in India. That would go so far to pay for stuff.

I haven't received mine yet. My fiance has discovered he is going to receive a very, very nice return this year. Which is exciting, part of it will pay for the honeymoon, the other will go into savings for when we start looking for an apartment.

This is our first year filing together as a married couple, so I'm not sure what to expect. Will we get only one return then? And I'm not sure if it will be smaller or bigger than what we would have gotten if we weren't filing separately because I know they take less taxes now. Confused!
Thank God for dads who do taxes! Mine's doing ours too, lol.
