Most of my books is falling apart because I read them over and over again. I can't be the only one in this guild can I? what do you do if your books are falling apart try to fix them? I try to but I think there are some of my books I need to buy again.
have you noticed that hardcover easier fall apart?

I'm usually very careful when I read books--if they start coming apart, and it has no sentimental value, I'll usually just toss/replace it. If a particular edition is special, I might take it to work and beg one of the tech staff to try fixing it. For ripped pages I also bring the books to work and carefully apply 3M book tape (scotch tape will yellow and turn brittle).
I've always thought paperback fell apart more easily: some mass market edition have cheap glue, and the covers are easier to damage.

My larger books (like art books and stuff) fall apart so I have to like rebind them, until their spine is entirely tape...>.<;

I know how you feel. I have a big hardcover book on Mythical Creature's of the world and I was reading the first page's of it. When suddenly the page's started to come out. So I had to tape them. And I have a series of four books that were my first one's I ever read and the first book's page's started to come out. So I did the same thing.
Now I'm really careful on how I read my books.

People are normally astonished at how great the condition my books are in. I treat my books better than I treat people, and I treat people better than I want or even should. But I do have several that are falling apart. I bought IT at a used book store, so it got torn up quickly, but I refuse to get rid of it because I love the cover and have never seen another version with any better cover. My The Vampire Lestat is kind of worn, but that is because I lent it out to a friend. I had to replace my 3rd Harry Potter book because I read the hell out of it.

Most of my books are in good condition, but I have some old books that my parents passed down to me. A lot of those are falling apart. I have three or four waiting to have pages taped back in even as we speak, actually.

I read my books over and over, but I've never split the spine of a book, so they don't fall apart. I think it is because my hands are small, and when I hold a book I don't open the pages very wide. The only books of mine that are starting to fall apart are the ones that I bought used, and it was their previous use that did it to them. I don't think I would ever replace a book if it fell apart though, I'd be more likely to tape it together.

I do notice how hardcover books tend to debind faster then paperbacks, but then again the paper cover is easier to mistakingly ruin.I just treat my books well so they won't be wrecked.
Sometimes,like at my college library,they will rebind your books for you if they are not too terribly bad for a low fee. But if that's not worth it,maybe buying a new copy is best wink .

OH GOD! I was just doing a show right ( Backstage worker for Preformances) and there is a dance in a variety show called "Just one of those things" and in that piece there are three props A bell, a ball, and a book. I saw it at first and I thaught it was cute, but as the show continued on, the book almost compleetly fell apart after about the 4th show! after about the second show I almost cried every time I saw them abusing that poor book! I couldn't even do anything about it because there is a "Don't touch the props unless they are yours or you are the prop master" rule!!! I felt so sorry for that poor book! :: sobs::

I try to be extremely careful with my books, but you can still tell which ones I like to read by how worn the covers are. I'm more careful with my hardcover books because it seems like they break more easily. I also don't like lending my books out because they usually come back in worse shape than they were in before. My brother stepped on my hardcover copy of the 4th Harry Potter book and totally killled it. I don't think anything can save it now.

A few of my books are falling apart, but I received them used in that condition so the fault is none of my own. I take good care of my books.
